I start the video by going through the 4 best safety tips, these include changing your max distance while practicing, changing your RTH altitude to 60-80m to ensure a safe return, updating your home point when you change locations and finding the secret preflight check interface.
My control tips and settings start with the FPV mode, enabling upward gimbal rotation and using the battery from the controller to charge your phone. I will then show you how to customise the Fn button.

I will then show you how to enable and use the gridlines, rounding this section out with a rundown on how to use manual camera settings and a handy tip for when you are using the auto settings.
This video will conclude with a brief rundown on the transmission settings, you can enable the smooth definition if you are experiencing interference and you can also manually adjust channels if you are still experiencing interference.

Great stuff. Thanks, Dan. I’ve finally bought the Mavic Air 2, but I’m too chicken to fly anywhere beyond a field, lol.
Awesome Mark! Keep flying in the fields and slowly adventure further away as you become more confident. These drones are unbelievably safe to fly and easy to navigate. Just take your time and learn all of the tips and settings: ruclips.net/video/9al_dwEMNrY/видео.html
DansTube.TV wait did you link the poor fella to this video ??? Hahaha I clicked it 3 x before I realized it wasn’t broke , just link to this same video 😂😂
😂 This video runs through the menus which will help you navigate the menus on your end. When it comes to flying, it will take some time to feel comfortable while flying an expensive drone but it will get easier with time. It will become second nature to you - continue flying in the fields and then slowly try new locations! Good luck 🚀
@@dewroc66 lol
Lol I feel u bro 😅 same here
Also another tip is when in flight instead of using the Gimbal wheel at the back for up and down you can put your finger on phone screen and hold and you can then move Gimbal up down left and right, the wheel at the back will only let you move up and down hope this helps take care everyone.
Yes! Awesome feature, thank you for sharing that 🚀
very helpful thanks
Thanks for watching! Feel free to join my drone community: linktr.ee/danstubetv
good stuff! lots of great info.
I’m glad that you gained something from this video 🚀 thanks for watching!

Thanks for watching!
Great video sir
Thank you for watching! I have over 1200 videos if you wanted to watch some more of my content 😉🚀
I can't wait to get my mavic air two
Awesome! When are you getting yours? 🚀
@@DansTubeTV for my birthday the 3rd of August
Nice..👍👍
Thanks for watching! 🚀⭐️
nice tips . i hope i will by buy soon the Mavic Air2 . now i have a Mavic Air1
Awesome 😎 let me know if you grab one ✔️ I’m sure that you’ll love it.
I have a DJI Mavic Air from the beginning but I want to buy a new Mavic Air 2 in the future . It's a cool drone
Very useful. We want other tricks please. I subscribe right now!
I will look into making another tips and settings video for the Mavic Air 2. Do you own any other drones? 🚀
DansTube.TV yes P4P pro+
Good video Dan, a popular one too, although just to note that your FPV mode test wasn't in FPV mode :) FPV mode means that the gimbal tilts left/right as it's flying, you'll only see the result of this in manual flight, not while in ActiveTrack as you were when running. Hope that this helps!
Definitely mate, thanks for the heads up! Can we collaborate with the Mavic Air 2 at all? 🚀
@@DansTubeTV it would be good wouldn't it although I feel that the Mavic Air 2 has now been done to death by us all, but let's think of a topic, for sure when I commence live-streaming, you'll be one of my first guests!
That would be awesome! Keep in touch mate 🤝
I would love to have you join me for a live event on my Mavic Mini group. We are interviewing pilots, drone retailers, manufacturers and more. If you would like to join us to talk about your passion for drones, any advice you have for people (safety, video or otherwise) and where you think the future of drones will head then our community would be thrilled: facebook.com/groups/2563993703814623 👈
I will then upload that video onto my RUclips channel as an interview piece 🚀
Good video! Is DJI coming out with anything new besides the fpv ( not a fan personally) that would compete with mavic air 2?
I don’t know what drone is coming next, it could be anything 🚀 subscribe and I’ll keep you up to date!
👏👏👏
Thanks for watching 🚀🙌
this app djwhat version of the dji fly are you using ?
please answer..
I am using v1.11.0.
Nice,
Can you please go more in depth on the transmission mode ?
How to tell which channels have the most interferrnce and how to read the levels.
Tks
You want the frequency mountains to be as flat as possible for the least interference ⛰
good information ...may i reuse in my channel?? thank u
As long as you give me credit and include a link to my RUclips channel. Send me a link once you’ve uploaded your video?
@@DansTubeTV thanks u
👍👍
Thanks for watching!
Danstube is my fav channel! keep up the gr8 content! u deserve way more subs man u put so much effort into ur vids
Thanks homie, I’m trying to improve this year. It looks like I might be upgrading my computer soon 💻
Hi i have same drone but i have only 500m max distance , how u unlocking this distance?.TNX
Make sure that you are logged into your DJI account and more than 10 satellites 🛰️ have connected.
hi dan how do you get the controler screen when you are playing back on the pc john nottingham uk
I just use screen recording software on my phone to capture the screen 📱
can u also turn the camera to the left and right
Yes you can, you can tap and hold on the screen to initiate the camera controls and then you can look left and right.
Is there any way to get the gimbal to tilt more than 25 degrees upward?
No, that is the limit 📷
please skip the ads. other than that, great video. thanx
No worries, thanks for watching 😁
@@DansTubeTV you did put it in well I must say ;-)
can you use follow mode by yourself if you set the controller down?
Yes, you certainly can. You can draw a box around yourself on the controller to start the tracking and then run away from the controller 🏃♂️
some options like phone charging and the FN button and auxiliary light are only available for Apple devices
Oh, thanks for the update. Do you know if there are any exclusive features for Android?
@@DansTubeTV I couldn't find anything that is Android Exclusive until now specially because I don't own Apple devices to compare to.
Not sure your right there mate, pretty sure the remote chargers android devices, not apple devices!
Hi Dan please help me, which means the red warning with the dotted line in the middle of a circle, in this video it is seen at the bottom at 0:32, 3:13, 8:36. This warning sign is not found in the mavic air 2 manual.
I believe that the warning sign is related to the sensors. Seeing as the sensors were picking up on a few objects they were sending out warnings ⛔️
I have the v 1.2.1 Android app and it doesn't have the Phone charge setting. The app is up to date as of 1-7-2021. Do you know if it is still hidden somewhere?
The phone charging option might be locked to iOS users 🔒 I’ve read a few comments saying this, I don’t own an Android device so I can’t test this unfortunately. Can anyone else confirm this?
hello, how do I stop charging my phone from the remote control battery?
That setting is turned off by default. You need to enable it each time so if you don’t want to use it then you don’t have to worry 🔋
where can i find the setting?
It will be in the controller menu 🎮
Cool vidéo but where is the secret menu 🙄 announced in the title ?
The preflight menu ✈️ not everyone knows about it.

Why is the sd card flashing red at the bottom? Mine does the same....i have a fast recommended card but flashes like there is a problem? Photos and footage record fine.
Good question, I thought that was the icon for the sensors but it might be the SD card. We should contact DJI or ask in a Mavic Air 2 forum 🤔
I have APAS and obstacle aviodance all off BUT I still get an annoying beeping when Im close to objects. How do I turn the beeping off?
Maybe they haven’t made that setting available. The beeping should stop once the APAS and Obstacle Avoidance have been turned off though 🤔 What have you troubleshooted so far?
Try crashing into a wall
Coverage of Update RTH doubtful procedure.
Thanks for watching!
I got my Mavic air 2(fly more combo) two days ago and when I showed my coach some of the pictures I took he was very impressed it was rly cool and I did use Lightroom to make them look better so he thought that’s what it looked like out of just the drone😂
Haha, nice work 😂 playing your coach for a sucker 😂 love it 🚀
Hello.i have a question..i jost find out its a mavic 2 and a mavic air 2 .whats the difference?
There are a few differences. I’ve created multiple videos on the Mavic 2 Pro and the Mavic Air 2. Watch my video reviews here: ruclips.net/p/PL922E6xFDVyLGMvhiSafI5ty3FdQWey42
Where is the „secret menu“ you announced in your title?
It is the pre flight menu, not everyone knows to tap on that prompt.
@@DansTubeTV pre flight menu is not secret...
@@PeriklisPapadopoulos did he clickbait?
What secret menu? The pre flight?
Yes, the pre flight menu. Not everyone knows about this menu 🚀
what was those stripe in the background.... start seeing 5:23 - 7:50.
Mario T. Let’s you know what’s overexposed in the shot
The overexposure warning. Turn it on and have a play around - it will show you what is overexposed in the scene.
What version of dji fly app are you guys using how come my dji app is different i don't have quick shot ect.
That is weird, maybe update the software? Or you could downgrade the software to a previous version that might be more stable?
Try contacting DJI if you can’t find it after troubleshooting a few things. It should be there when you tap the switch modes button on your touchscreen.
Thank you sir keep safe always
The version i have is 1.4.0 is that right?
Have a look on the DJI website, they will tell you what the current version is. If you own Android then I believe that you need to update through their website now.
In this video a swim pool is largely visible. Im presuming the mobile phone used in the video is considerably larger than my i7. With the i7 there is sliver (
That is annoying. I don’t think that you can adjust the size of the settings. Maybe try contacting DJI, see if they know about this.
There is another less obvious setting adjustment for zoom. Behind another door. My iPhone Savvy son fixed the problem. I now have 16mm of Camera View upon which I can tap to exit Setting Menu. I had found a "reach around" using Gimbal Calibration. Select the X upper left to exit Settings Menu.
Nice work son! Thanks for sharing the fix ⚙️
Can the dji mavic air 2 active track a horse rider
Only if both the horse and the rider are left handed.
Yes, you can definitely track a horse rider 🐴
Thank you, i worked it out, active track wouldnt track if i put the box over the horse and rider kept coming up with will only follow poeple and cars, it only works if you only put the box over the rider
Just bought an Air 2 only to find out my smartphone isn't smart enough, so looking at a new Samsung Galaxy S20 thought about using a Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 could you tell me if they are compatible
Look up the specs and check, it needs to be 64-bit for the DJI Fly app. I currently use a Pixel 4 XL and even my original Pixel XL run the app, they're great phones.
I've got a A20s first flight or two the app may crash but make sure to update your phone and fly in airplane mode...did this and never crashed again...hope this helps.
My mavic air 2 is in isolation ward
Oh no 🤦♂️ what happened?
Where is the live stream settings ? In the app
There aren’t any live streaming options just yet 🤦♂️
@@DansTubeTV hopefully they add it in the next update thats almost a deal breaker for me im going from a phantom 3 se to this being the latest thing I would think it would have live stream built into the app
wer can i buy it?
Amazon or DJI, I’ve got both links in the video description 👌
You need to slow down alittle
Thanks Steve, I will definitely slow my pace down in the future.
Yes, please slow down. Don't rush it for us beginners... Great video.. I watch it again and thumbs up!
Dan we pay for RUclips premium not to have adverts. Loved your videos except for these sneaky ads you personally put in!
I can see where you’re coming from Jordan, how do you suggest that I can still include a message from my sponsors without being overly intrusive for you?
@@DansTubeTV maybe just mention them rather than a physical advert. Keep up the good videos though mate.
Your video did scratch the surface only. You are correct the RTH function is very important but you missed an important feature. If you’re moving around you don’t want to reset on the screen which consists of more than just touching. You have off to the right a picture of the controller. Highlight it and the drone returns to you without playing around with the screen. If you move the drone tracks you. You should have a skip ad button. Longest ad I’ve seen on any site with no way to get out. Will subscribe on the off chance your future pieces have more complete content. Thanks
The add is PART of the video. Fast forward through it. Wow
No worries BC. I tried to create a comprehensive settings video. I put a lot of effort into this video so I’m sad to hear that it wasn’t up to scratch for you. You might enjoy some of my other videos ▶️
You can skip the advertisement. No one is forcing you to watch it.
Greg Mack yes you are correct I could have just skipped forward. Not too smart on my part. Thanks for pointing it out.
Mine is being delivered in 1 hours time
That’s exciting! I would love to hear about your first flight 🚀
@@DansTubeTV I shall let you know. Its here and on charge. But nervous to be honest 😄
You’ll be fine, take it slowly and start flying in an open field with no one around.
@@DansTubeTV so far so good. No incidents yet. Think its just a case of getting used to its capabilites in wind etc. Will take some time to learn all the video options but so far very impressed.
@@DansTubeTV Advice if you can, I have connected for the 3rd time and DJI app is saying not connected?
And the "Secret Menu" is....still secret?
The secret menu has been revealed 😂
@@DansTubeTV Sorry I missed it. Which menu is the one you are referring to?
In the top left corner, you can press the information section to reveal the drop down menu.
listen, im going insane. I just bought the motherfucking thing and I have no APAS and I have no Tracking panel. I want to track things but can't find it, is it a fucking bug or something? I have the latest firmware and updates for mavic air 2
It should be available through the settings. You draw a box on the screen to start tracking and the APAS will be available as an icon on the flight screen. Try contacting DJI to confirm this.
As a new owner of the Mavic Air 2, I was really hoping that I would get some great info from your video. I guess it is my bad to think that you would have presented the info without zipping back and forth between views, and referencing what was on each screen as though I had been using it for years now, instead of just starting. When I tried to find your references to what was on the screens, you were already onto 2 other screens without me ever finding what your had been referencing 2 screens ago!! I offer this as constructive criticism only, you are not alone in this rapid fire presentation format of teaching. I guess I'm just too old and my mind is not as sharp as you youngsters, nor did I grow up with this technology, so it is not as "matters of fact" to me either. Now where did I put that owners manual.........
Great point Ed, I have definitely tried to make a conscious effort to slow down the presentation of information with my future videos. You can always pause the video and apply the settings though, you can also go back and rewatch the point.
And the ‘secret menu’ is... wait for it. There’s no secret menu is just a clickbait
Not everyone knows about the preflight check menu, it is really useful. You would be surprised with how many people don’t know about this menu.
I didn't knew that! Thanks
Feels like youre going all over the place with this video and didnt mention anything about your coding format i sujest to have it at h 264 for must people...
No worries Edwin, I appreciate that advice. I didn’t mention everything in this video, I focused on 17 tips and settings that I thought were noteworthy.
My Mavic air 2 is catching dust because of the dick-head premier of Victoria Putting all of these lockdowns back on🤬
That’s unfortunate, your safety is more important than flying a drone though. Stay safe 🦠
Never listen to someone say " secret menu" if you don't know about everything on this by now with all the hundreds and hundreds of videos, then you just haven't tried. Same old crap!
People have gained a lot from this video - check out the comments. People are still buying and receiving this drone daily. This video is intended to appeal to new and experienced pilots.
Sorry but way too fast through the settings to be useful
you can slow down the video playback speed. Also, If you use the arrows on the bottom right of your computer you can rewind in increments easily and replay parts over and over!
Yes, you can also pause the video ⏸ I tried to fit as much information into this video as I could while still making it easily digestible.
