I think it's more of old fans expecting much much more. There were cleans in Edge of the Earth and Colombian Faction.

idk how i'm a hardcore kind of "i don't really like the softer stuff" kind of guy but freaking love this. it has a nice vibe it reminds me of listening to R&B in the car with my mom when i was little bit it has my other favorite genre mixed in.
So glad Volumes picked him up as a vocalist! He was so good with Bury Your Dead, and I was upset when they stopped making music! Such an amazing vocalist that fits perfect in this band!

Dunno what all the drama is, I've never heard this band and that audio effect on his voice at the beginning(dunno the name of the effect) is what pulled me in because I love that kinda stuff. This song is a healthy balance of soft and heavy.

I've listened to Gus long before Volumes and one of the reasons I still listen to Volumes is because of his sound. whether you like it or not, it's unique and still draws alot of people back.
I am tired of people bashing bands when their new music comes out. it seem to be the same thing all the time, " (insert era) was better", "this is garbage", " (insert new band mate) ruined (insert band)". Volumes' has some BADASS songs, but are going to expect them to continue making THAT specific sound in every song? No, we are going to get bored and then bash on them for being unoriginal! Open your minds people, evolve with the band and be more open to the sound they are giving us rather than judge the song on the amount of clean vocals used 🙄

It took a couple listens, but it has been stuck in my head for days. Exceptional tune...
Rich ass mansion set location. Attractive actor doing mundane tasks in slow motion. Bubbles and ping pong balls as cheap props for visual effect. Yeap they're in Cali.
The album isn't horrible, I can see myself bumping it for a while. However, it shows just how important Barr was to this band's creativity both lyrically and instrumentally. They are getting more bland now that he's gone so the criticism is fair, but to an extent. I still fuck with these boys.
