Its OcEaN48 That was never the actual factory? And also their main factory is still in Hershey PA. I am a staff member at the park and my cousins works the tour ride and chocolate world.
@@danielr4640 Nah, they completely revamped it, the characters weren't involved, the cows were different, the song was entirely different, and there used to be a train where the 'map' is at the start. It's a completely different experience now and I'm sad to see it gone.
I miss the three cows being at the beginning (if memory serves me correct). It's still a fun ride, and a great place to cool off during the summer, but definitely not what it used to be.
I also miss the old song but I mean the new ride isn't bad since I go here during April break and the ride normally has a low compacity when and if I do go on it.
The old version was better, it had a more humble feeling, it didn't try to be on the same level as Disney or Universal. But now it's just halfway there so it didn't turn out quite right
Well now Spaceship Earth is closing so I hope they don’t scrape that one as well as the tour. Now I say the tour’s vehicles are now like Figment’s cars on the figment ride
Wow, you were literally in my BACK YARD! I work about 3 miles from HersheyPark and Chocolate World! It's so neat to watch something on this channel that is so familiar to me.
Wow! I honesty had no idea that Hershey’s had a dark ride. And I certainly didn’t expect it to have one of this quality. Looks like one of the best quality dark rides outside of a Disney or Universal theme park
Clearly you haven’t seen our dark rides here in Europe. Symbolica Hex Derren Brown’s Ghost Train: Rise of the Demon Arthur: The Ride Gruffalo Droomvlucht Dream Flight Atlantis Submarine Voyage Valhalla Just to name a few
This has changed. It used to take you through the dense forest where cocoa beans are grown. Hmm. Yes, they do give you free samples at the end of every ride. It is free and you can ride as many times as you like.
I lived in Palmyra back in 2005-2007 and THEN it was a "Dark ride" it looks so Disney now. At least brighter so you can see everything now. Still always liked the free sample candy after the ride.
i can see the excitement when you’re a new guest, but when you live here, this is where you come when you’re bored. literally just give me the free chocolateeeeeeeee
I loved this ride I would cry because we weren’t going on it again I don’t really remember it but remember the cows singing and watching the chocolate bars go on the escalator THEY UPDATED IT I NEVER NEW
I first went on this when I was like 5 and I remember the old Hershey's Milk Chocolate song. Needless to say I went on the ride in April of both 2017 and 2018 during April Vacation and it was pretty cool since the ride had been in refurbishment. I actually didn't really have a like or hate for the current version of the ride but do like the previous version better. I do though like the more big amount of animatronics. The three cows that were added during the refurb used to sit near the end of the ride and the baby cow used to sit at both the beginning and end of the ride. Not sure which of the 2 baby cows they used. I always tripped up on the rotating platform when stepping on the platform.
Yeah I remember it ages ago, the old jingle had a pretty funky beat that is kinda missed but the newer look is a nice change to keep up with the times! I haven’t gone in ages so not really sure but I’ve heard people say before you could smell the chocolate really strong during the tour which I remember but nowadays the smell is still sort of there but not as strong
I miss the 90s aesthetics, which carried over from the 80s. CRT television screens and lots of blinking lights. Nothing said "This is high tech and important" than orange and amber lights blinking out of unison. Maybe because I am older, but I felt the 90s version was more educational and this version is more entertaining.
my favorite place! i go here all the time because i live an hour away! it’s so neat having this on here with others like mystic manor, shanghai pirates, and journey! what are your top 10 rides in the world socal
Maaaan, I miss being able to just hop the NJ / PA border and go to Hershey Park! I can still remember the amazing smell once entering the refinery room on that ride. It smells AMAZING! OH! They removed the pile of Hersheys Kisses toward the end! Aw! Wonder if I can find the old original ride song from when I was little? If you want to know a TRUE earwig song, that’s the one. ^^
I went on this when I was in Hershey in 2017, but we didn’t do Hersheypark. We just did Chocolate World. This ride reminded me of the boat scene in Willy Wonka, except it wasn’t as demented.
Yeah I remember going there when I was a little kid. Some parts of my memory there are stronger than others. I remember the mixers on the ride mixing the liquid brown chocolate. At the end I got a chocolate bar from my dad. That had to be at least 12 years ago but unsure.
My favorite ride of all time isn't an operation anymore but it was at Epcot, and it was Horizons. I absolutely love that ride and I also love World of motion but now they turned it into test track. But those rides were like so ahead of their time I feel. I hate that they are no longer around.
Before it changed into something like the Hershy's Tour, the Original Cadbury World Factory Tour here in the UK did actually include a real part of the production facility.........with a lot (I would say too much!) free chocolate everytime you got to the various stages in production. By the time you got to the end, and into the Shop, you certainly didn't feel like buying any more!!! Sadly this has all changed, and not a "real" process to be seen now, just like the Hershey's one......and no doubt less free chocolate too !!
I bet that ride was intended to go a lot slower than it is you can't even enjoy 1 event and you're already started into the next one I need to slow that ride down or take out the cars and let you walk to it that way you can enjoy each one
Oh my god what did they do to this ride? (I grew up nearby and can't remember how many times I've gone on this but I haven't been there since 2014ish) What happened to the cows? What's with all the screens? The last room has been replaced with a light tube?! Ughh this makes me sad, off to find an older video before they did whatever this is...
this looks like Spaceship Earth with more light and music BLARING at you. The ride system looks the same down to the screen in the front. The only difference is that the large ride vehicle’s shape here looks more like Journey Into imagination. But mostly Spaceship Earth. Mind you a very watered down Spaceship Earth.
Went on the ride a week before the animatronics were reinstalled! They didn't have the projected characters, so it's only half familiar to me because there were remnants of the old ride inside still, in my opinion the old version was much better, and the song was catchy too!
Imagine if the actual factory employees had to work with this constant music. It would be a nightmare.
AdmiralBonetoPick oof
Kinda catchy tho
It is not a factory, but some rides in a theme park do
AdmiralBonetoPick I see this as an absolute win
Yep that would be sad
That was both educational and strange at the same time....thanks for posting.
Where are the umpa lumpas
cleaning up some messes
Eduardo Studios this isn's willy wonka's chocolate factory
@@TheWASHINGMACHINEBOY i know it was a joke.
Hays Coleman he knows that... 🤨🤦♂️😠😤
i can't tell if someone is joking or not
They don't churn their chocolate by waterfall.
It's not Wonka....oh well
😉
Nor do they have chocolate cows to get the chocolate milk from....
*Bwaaaa Hahaha! Bro!* 😂😂😂😂😂😂
3:01 the history of chocolate m&ms
I hope it still smells like fresh chocolate in the after all the renovations! I liked the ride before they updated it. It was more enjoyable!
They changed their factory to some place In Mexico this used to be their actual factory.
It still does but not nearly as strong as it used to be. It's sad.
i remember the whole town smelled like chocolate .
Its OcEaN48 That was never the actual factory? And also their main factory is still in Hershey PA. I am a staff member at the park and my cousins works the tour ride and chocolate world.
I can still smell it in Central Blending right here 4:08 but it used to be strong in the Befining area here 5:15
Last time I was at Hershey Park was 3 years ago and in that time they did a major redo of this ride. Thanks for uploading!!!
When the presentation is 99% of your grade and the cooking teacher says explain how chocolate is made.
Me:
That would be a lot to answer
OOOHHHH, I'M GETTING A NOSTALGIA ATTACK! It's been SOOOO long since I've been to the Hershey Factory!
Well, that concludes my guided tour!
I hope you had a relaxing ride around the factory and thanks for sticking with me!
I tried to steal a box from the conveyor belt once...... it was empty....... 😂😂😂
kuu chi tight
I miss the old ride back in the late 90s early 00s. This looks cool too but it's definitely not how I remember it :)
Chris Mascolo they just added a navigation audio screen to the ride
@@danielr4640 Nah, they completely revamped it, the characters weren't involved, the cows were different, the song was entirely different, and there used to be a train where the 'map' is at the start. It's a completely different experience now and I'm sad to see it gone.
I miss the three cows being at the beginning (if memory serves me correct). It's still a fun ride, and a great place to cool off during the summer, but definitely not what it used to be.
Same, I also grew up with the other song on the ride, this is completely dofferent
There are some RUclips videos of the ride from 1987 and one from 1991. Check them out. A flood of memories for me
With the title; I was actually expecting a dark halloween ride, while bracing myself for jump-scares lol.
DropItLikeItSkawt so you thought it’d be a “dark chocolate ride” then :p
Total opposite. When you're actually there it is even brighter and warmer than it is on here. And what is really missing: The smell of chocolate.
Wdym? The title didnt said anything about scary!
It is scary!!! With those characters and them cows! I nearly crapped myself! Lol
Like the ones in Disney and universal
The pig in the haystack is like “dear god they never stop.... kill me...”
They changed this ride A LOT and tbh I miss the older version the music was much better
just realized they brought back the barn cat from years ago
I also miss the old song but I mean the new ride isn't bad since I go here during April break and the ride normally has a low compacity when and if I do go on it.
That's true, but the current version just looks more modern.
Holy crap. This ride looks so different from the last time I went to Hersey. I like the older version better. But this still looks fun.
You guys still in pa? Hit me up! I’m close by!
The old version was better, it had a more humble feeling, it didn't try to be on the same level as Disney or Universal. But now it's just halfway there so it didn't turn out quite right
Yeah but it also said chocolate was nutritious
I don't know Shawn, never thought I'd prefer a omnimover to a trackless dark ride, Hershey's Chocolate Tour Dark Ride takes the win
This ride used to be so good! Now it’s like spaceship earth
Tyler Dinky Doo Amusement Madness Fun 123 excuse you. Spaceship Earth is great. This is not as good. It’s watered down Spaceship Earth 🙄
Well now Spaceship Earth is closing so I hope they don’t scrape that one as well as the tour. Now I say the tour’s vehicles are now like Figment’s cars on the figment ride
Tyler Dinky Doo Amusement Madness Fun 123 Spaceship earth isn’t closing? All that’s planned to happen is a refurb. Get your facts straight kid.
Looks like they've updated it a lot since we were last there
It does look updated. We have not been in years.
How do u update a ride based off chocolate lol ?
it is updated! i live in hershey and it went under construction and they changed practically everything.
lovelylucy18 ASMR it took them ages to do the construction, and I have yet to ride it even though I also live around hershey
Sounds like a very educational ride.
Hard to hear clearly. Must admit I do prefer Charlie's factory
Journey Into Imagination (minus) Figment
Think Away Films aka, journey into YOUR imagination
Wow, you were literally in my BACK YARD! I work about 3 miles from HersheyPark and Chocolate World! It's so neat to watch something on this channel that is so familiar to me.
Same here
Wow! I honesty had no idea that Hershey’s had a dark ride. And I certainly didn’t expect it to have one of this quality. Looks like one of the best quality dark rides outside of a Disney or Universal theme park
The brightest dark ride ever.
Clearly you haven’t seen our dark rides here in Europe.
Symbolica
Hex
Derren Brown’s Ghost Train: Rise of the Demon
Arthur: The Ride
Gruffalo
Droomvlucht
Dream Flight
Atlantis Submarine Voyage
Valhalla
Just to name a few
Thomas Stanley um six flags has a better dark ride than this, and that’s sad
Loakin Why does Derren Brown have a ride? Lol
Last time I was there was sometime in the summer of 1986.been a long time thanks for the upload.
This has changed. It used to take you through the dense forest where cocoa beans are grown. Hmm. Yes, they do give you free samples at the end of every ride. It is free and you can ride as many times as you like.
Honestly, the scariest part of that ride for me personally are the cows. Those things creep me out for some reason
Maybe it's b/c you don't find them very "a-"moo"-sing"!!!
Yeah… the old one had cows, but it was more tolerable
1:04 I wonder which one of the singing cows is Cupcake’s mother
Thanks for posting this.
It’s informative and to me:
I found it a dull ride that I will not ever go on.
Hell with the boring ride....where's my free chocolate????
marty nikonchuk Agree with you XD
At the end of the ride lol they give you bite size pieces after you get off.
They give chocolate at the end
I love the ride! And the free chocolate!
Right 😂
I lived in Palmyra back in 2005-2007 and THEN it was a "Dark ride" it looks so Disney now. At least brighter so you can see everything now. Still always liked the free sample candy after the ride.
I’ve been on this ride countless times.. never gets old.
i can see the excitement when you’re a new guest, but when you live here, this is where you come when you’re bored. literally just give me the free chocolateeeeeeeee
How it felt when my family would come up around Christmas time. Went on the ride every time we would visit and get the free chocolate.
Although the ride is bad, the chocolate is soooooo good🤤
I loved this ride I would cry because we weren’t going on it again
I don’t really remember it but remember the cows singing and watching the chocolate bars go on the escalator
THEY UPDATED IT I NEVER NEW
Do you need a golden ticket to get in?
I remember this ride remaining mostly unchanged from opening in the early 70s til the mid 90s ❤
Makes me want to eat chocolate right now. :9
*Girrrrl, I have a Bad Cold and can't even Taste 👄🍫 my Ritter Sport Chocolate covered Biscuit right now!* 😭

The fact that this is in the gift shop is incredible

Is that where Forrest is being held
The first part still seems pretty dystopian. “Taste the love?” Love for babies taken away from them!
Have to say I love your job riding all these rides epic
So everyone is just going to ignore the fact that the lady in the beginning of the video was walking no where
She's a ride attendant and the platform is moving beneath her feet...
Moving platform lol
Don’t rain on my parade i was just joking around
615_Nate Every where welcome to the internet how tough are ya
DAYZ WITHNATE LOL the replies... I guess people don’t have much of a sense of humor here. 😂
Anyone notice a fairly "Sizable" error in the measuring funnels just before the 2:00 mark?
Is my three kids loves this adventure! I can't wait go off on my duty work elevator from Manchester UK! Good to find!!!
I was on that ride before and it was good but I really enjoyed the ride

Taste the love! Lol this is my Christmas theme we go every year!
So the anthropomorphic chocolate wants me to eat them.....I'm so conflicted....
I saw a projector is the dryer
Round the world and whole again! That's the sailor's way!🍫🍫🍫🍫🍫
That song is almost completely drowning out the narration.
Themeparkfanatic - There's narration??
Have you ever been on this ride? The music is 100 times louder in person.
Wow. Through this ride, we can learn something.
My friends and I went on this during a weekend trip for school. We made fun of it the whole time. But free chocolate was fun
That ride looks fun even though it’s about how chocolate is made
the nostalgia
I was there that day!
5:46 real chocolate?
Thats so cool!
Hersheypark was my favorite theme park.
Reminds of Willy wonka and that one scene where they were on that boat looking at the different rooms
I especially love their reactions to “hair cream“ haha

it's all coming back now
The propaganda is strong with this one
Alec Villalpando it’s amazing
Libright propaganda.
Haven’t rode this since 2010!
It smelled amazing in there
certainly not a bad ride considering its free to get on
I’m going here TOMMOROW
I went on this on my Senior Year Field Trip! 2004-2005 High School year.
I liked the older version better I really wish they had left it the way it was last time I went on this ride was in 1998
You did a very good job at recording this. Thank you!
WE'RE HERE TO RESCUE YOU FORREST!
They also have this tour ride in Ferrari world, how to make a ferrari
You made my day
My daughter and family have ridden this many times, and we LOVE it.
I don't know about you guys, but this looks like fun
Very good !
I'm craving chocolate now.
I bet that ride was intended to go a lot slower than it is you can't even enjoy 1 event and you're already started into the next one I need to slow that ride down or take out the cars and let you walk to it that way you can enjoy each one
So it's kinda like an omnimover?
Do they give free samples after the ride???
ugh i was supposed to go there for a school trip:(
Went on this and it was awesome.
I will see her before and I love this
I went on this on vacation
Oh my god what did they do to this ride? (I grew up nearby and can't remember how many times I've gone on this but I haven't been there since 2014ish) What happened to the cows? What's with all the screens? The last room has been replaced with a light tube?! Ughh this makes me sad, off to find an older video before they did whatever this is...
