Thank you .After over 40 years experience using the Qxy-Fuel torch , I knew what the Flash-back arrestors were for . This is the first time I heard an explanation of what the check valves were used for . Now to get some for my hobby torch , I already have the FB arrestors .
very good safety vid thanks for showing I love my oxy/fuel torches. I own 2 concoa cutting torches and a concoa rose bud I use on oxy/propane!! and I own a smith little torch with a very small oxy/propane rose bud!! Someday i will buy a victor for my farm!!
Clean the tips, check your working psi, increase your coupling distance, clean your metal. Are just a few things. I know your question is 2 years old but maybe it will help someone else.
@@muddyudders I had to totally disassemble the torch and found that the gasket that mounts the head to the hoses had a small sliver of gasket material blocking the proper seal of the two.

I think everyone who has experienced a sustained backfire can attest to the terrifying noise it creates.
Thank you for the information. I'm new to the oxy/gas torch use community. This was very educational. Thank you again.
Sustained back fire was kinda cool to watch on video never seen that before

Why does everybody tell about the dangers of a flashback but not what to do if one happens
Thanks for the video!
A dirty tip (nozzle) will cause problems. To clean one, heat it red and pour water on it, then squirt compressed air!
Nice 👍
really good information
If a flashback arrester is fitted to both hoses, are check valves also required?
Where can I get a Cut-away torch for teaching my new hires about torch safety in a more in depth class?
Brian Humphreys cut it yourself. With a small grinder.
I have a Victor Medalist 250. I have a problem with it popping on me. Any suggestions will help.
