Here's Jacob Cordover playing Astor Piazzolla's Adios Nonino on a beautiful 1976 Miguel Rodriguez 'Churchdoor' from the Russell Cleveland Collection that had belonged to Celin Romero and John Dearman. Recorded at the Guitar Salon International showroom in Santa Monica, CA.
Huge thanks to the folks at Apogee Electronics (ApogeeDigital.com) for the use of their Ensemble interface in these recordings.

this guitar looks and sounds fantastic, warm and lively at the same time...and the guitarist certainly does it justice..sensitive nuanced and total control... he is great!

Wow, lovely playing JC!
Such a beautiful rendition of an amazing piece... Piazzolla wrote this piece after his father Nonino's death. Argentine singer Eladia Blasquez added lyrics to this, and they make this piece even more melancholic, and yet beautiful:
From a scintillating star
he will signal me to come,
by a light of eternity
when he calls me I will go.
To ask him for that child
that I lost with his death,
that with Nonino he went…
When he tells me come here…
I’ll be reborn … because…
I am…! the root of the country
that modeled with its clay,
I am…! blood and skin,
of that Italian who gave me his seed…
Good-bye Nonino…
how long the road
will be without you
Pain, sadness, the table and the bread…!
and my good-bye…Ay…! my good-bye,
to your love, your tobacco, your wine.
Who, without pity, took half of me,
when taking you Nonino….?
Perhaps one day, I also looking back…
will say as you, good-bye… no more bets…!
And today my old Nonino is a part of nature.
He is the light, the wind, and the river…
this torrent within me replaces him,
extending in me his challenge.
I perpetuate myself in his blood, I know.
And anticipate in my voice, his own echo.
This voice that once sounded hollow to me
when I said good-bye… Good-bye Nonino.
I am…! the root of the country
that modeled with its clay,
I am…! blood and skin,
of that Italian who gave me his seed…
Good-bye Nonino… you left your sun in my destiny.
your fearless ardor, your creed of love.
And that eagerness…Ah..! your eagerness,
for seeding the road with hope.
I am your honeycomb and this drop of sunlight
that today cries for you Nonino
perhaps the day when my string is cut
I will see you and I will know there is no end.
Impressive !!!
An Easy...
FIVE STARS!

nice arrangement , i wanna buy the score , and now ?
What a great performance ! Massive compliments for the way the song builds and all those beautiful subtleties !
Would love to learn to play this version myself. @jacobcordover: is there a pdf of this arrangement available ?
Did you ever find the score for this by Pujol? We have been searching for it
Yo igual estaba buscándola, pero no la encuentro
amazing guitar, i really love Piazolla, i'm a piazzolla addicted and i play guitar too, so if u allow me I recommend better arrangements "Agustin Carlevaro" the original approved by Piazzolla and I recommend all the piazzolla's work by Sergio Assad, especially the piazzolla's four season.
Think about this when u play a piazzolla's pieces u need to imitate a bandoneon so u need to many rhythm and syncopated and to much expression.
I think his arrangement is by Maximo Diego Pujol. I have it on order.
Hello Thian! I am a guitar teacher at Ljubljana (Slovenia) music Conservatory. If you would be so kind and send me the Maximo Diego Pujol arrangement of Adios Nonino, I would be very grateful.
amazing performance. I want to know who did the arrangement of this though, can anyone help?
I was wrong about this piece being available. I emailed Maximo and he said it was published. He was kind enough to send me a PDF of it!!! :)
Dear Thian, do you know a way to get this arrangement.Or would you please, please, please like to send me the pdf? It is SO wonderful and I like it more than the one by Carlevaro (wich is surely wonderful, as well).
My e-mail: borisguckelsberger@t-online.de
I would be so so thankful! Best regards
Boris (from Germany)

I sent Maximo Pujol an email and he was kind enough to send it to me. Not exactly the same, but close enough. He said it's not published.
Que tremendo sonido el de esa guitarra, pareciera que no hace esfuerzo para tocarla.

Flawlessly performed, the guitar is in fact beautiful, but I must say the strings used on it feel a bit dull, it lacks that rich warmth I'm looking for.
Que soberbia tienen algunos "arreglistas" al creer que pueden mejorar una obra tan perfecta como adios nonino. Al menos respeten la melodia!
