I love watching your vlogs, you feel like a British version of me! I'm in NZ, and I'm in the same stage as you - I have just 2 more shifts in my placement and then transition next semester! Big exam November this year. So it's interesting following you and seeing what you're up to! Fingers crossed you get the job!

So delighted to see you doing so well! Congrats on that P*!! In Ireland we have a thing coming in called Slaintecare (Slainte means health in Irish, some people say it as a cheers when they have a drink, sort of a "to good health" type of thing) and its basically gearing most of the care to the community setting! Community IS where its at! The curriculum changed last year and everything! The transition module sounds so good! Im so interested to hear how it goes x Congrats on the job ;) xx

What sort of theory things would you recommend looking at for someone going into year 1 of nursing x

Madison Coombe I would look up the physiology stuff. The body systems such as: cardiovascular system, respiratory, endocrine, renal system etc. Get to know how the body works inside and out :) and that will give you a flying start! Khan Academy is what I’ve always used. Their RUclips and website is amazing. Also the Quizlet app :) x

Do you think you benefit having experience in healthcare before going on to do a nursing degree or would you have liked to done nursing straight out of school?

Cupcakes26 Having experience has helped in some ways I think. BUT I’d of liked to of gone straight in without healthcare experience. It will be nice to go in with fresh eyes I think! :) it’s nice to maybe do one shift on a ward to see what will be expected of you when you get out there. Some people are shocked when they see they have to help wash a patient. Or clean blood, urine or faeces! So it’s nice from that part. But I found it hard to get out of my normal healthcare assistant role and into student nurse role during first year :) but this finally came to me in second year ☺️ I hope that helps haha. Xx
