- In this video, I bring you the first impressions of the Geely Monjaro. This video will include a drive, exterior, and interior tour of the 2024 Geely Monjaro. The Monjaro is a Chinese SUV built by Geely. It borrows a lot of its components from Volvo including the new platform.
I was invited down by Geely to be one of the first to test drive the new Monjaro. The event was organized to test the Monjaro 2024 out on the open roads. We were tasked to take it to the top of the mountain in the UAE which is in Jebel Jais, Ras Al Khaimah. We ended our drive at the top of the mountain at 1484 by Puro. The name Monjaro is derived from the famous Mount Kilimanjaro.
The new Geely Monjaro 2024 is powered by a 2.0-liter, 4-cylinder turbocharged engine that produces 235HP and 350Nm of torque which sends the power of all four wheels (4WD) via an 8-speed automatic gearbox.
The interior of the 2024 Monjaro comes with leather and faux suede material, 3 digital screens - one for the driver, one infotainment, and a separate screen for the passenger. It comes with a Bose music system. It also comes with a plethora of safety systems ranging from a 360-degree camera, lane keep assist and adaptive cruise control.

Please do Haval H6 review
Thanks for the video, rare to find content in english for this car. I bought one, major disappointment is no android or apple carplay. The carbitlink solution is really bad, do you know any alternatives? Thanks
There are people who mods infotainment.
At the showroom they mentioned that carplay will be available in q1 2024…no official communication though
I have installed android auto
The Apple and android play is available now
@@jasonmonteiro6827 On the Monjaro?
do you think the ac performs well? i have a starray and its very lackluster
It can be a bit weak.
Hi how is starray I’m planing to buy..
@@dubaimainroad-6609 its alright but definitely test drive, problem wise the interior gets abnormally hot and ac is weak but heavy tinting might solve and the solution for no carplay/android auto doesn't work properly so I recommend phoneholder that is suction cup type but I recommend from other owners review go for haval h6 most of the problems with the starray is solved in that car but it is smaller
Is it worth to consider monjaro vs fortuner which is at similar price. Even Nissans xtrail xterra
It's a good option, but when you compare with a Fortuner, it isn't a rugged SUV as the latter.
The build quality on the car is great, and it definitely feels a lot more premium than the Fortuner or an X Trail. However, the X Trail seems to be the most spacious out of these 3 options.
When it comes to the engine, it feels sluggish when it's ordered with power on the go. It is slightly noisy, too, during a windy day. In that department, the Fortuner or the X Trail takes the vote.
When it comes to styling, though subjective, I like the look of the Monjaro as it's simple yet elegant. It feels a lot more expensive than its price tag. Something I wouldn't say for the other two.
If your daily runs are around the city, then Monjaro is definitely a great option. If you want space, I would suggest X Trail. If you want a bit of ruggedness, then the Fortuner.
You cannot compare. Fortuner is a rugged car with traditional hand brake and lot of manual stuff. Geely Monjaro is very luxurious and loaded with a lot of unbelievable tech and auto pilot. In terms of tech, Fortuner is way behind
Geely is AT transmission which is much better than Nissans cvt. Xtrail is 160k. Monjaro is 125k
All agree but end of the day its chinese
Well, no one knows the reliability yet as they are fairly new in the market. The best way to know is join the local groups.
@@MisterMZEECars but a knw person working in insurance company said stay way , and they don’t give comprehensive insurance only 3rd party for most chinese cars
you should have shown the entry-level / mid-range vs fully loaded trim. i saw in ur car it has a panoramic roof which was not mentioned at all. 😏
There were hardly any basic units that joined the drive event. Hence, I wasn't able to get the difference.
This isn't a detailed review. Hence, I may have skipped a few features. There wasn't enough time to film it in detail. As I mentioned in the video too, I will get a detailed one, which is where all the features will be covered ✌🏽
The entry level / mid range / fully loaded are all the same. The only difference In the models are the color trims. Have visited the showroom and have a detailed look at it.
Do you think this car if i own it it will last for 5-7 years ? Spare parts available?
It is one of the top Chinese brands. Hence, it will still last beyond 5 years with the right maintainence and care.
With that said, the parts I still can not predict the availability, but with a big dealership backing it (AGMC), it should still be an easier ownership journey and parts replacement.
@@MisterMZEECars i was thinking to get a hyundai santafe .. do you think the ride quality is same as this car ? Or better ?
I was the first one to buy it in UAE, got the grey one. So far so good. Only issue is not having Apple CarPlay or Android Auto
DO YOU RECOMMEND ? YOU THINK IT WILL LAST LIKE HYUNDAI .. TOYOTA ? FOR MORE THAN 5-6 YEARS ? 2-WHAT ABOUT THE MAINTANCE ? YOU FIND THE PARTS EASILY ?@@robertnaouss1
@@robertnaouss1 did you have the issue with the slight vibration on 80-90km speed?
As far i know it is aisin gearbox issue coming from low rpm's on the 8th speed.
Does these cars get comprehensive insurance?
Yes, they do.
You have missed so many good features. You wrongly mentioned the car turn you back in the lane while your indicator is on. I own the car so i can tell you when you have your indicator on, the car lets you change lane.
I’m planning to buy one next month….do you recommend it?
@@jhessicarodrigues6507 Totally. The car comes with exceptional features not seen in a lot of cars. Do a test drive though.
