Foster mom Dalila has brought baby Makongo back to the family.
In this video, we capture a heartwarming moment between Makongo and his sister Nala.

This is absolutely wonderful!! Not going to lie I cried a little to see Nala and Makongo together. Love this so much!!!

Dalila is holding Makongo like he was her own, so protective, he will be fine with her, thank Goodness! I’m so relieved, happy & confident both Nala & Makongo will be with Dalila in the troop! When Dalila passes (due to her age now) Makongo still young will have Nala as his leader, protector & the troop as security.
I hope that God grants Dalila better health and a long life♥️ so she can be with Baby Makongo as he grows up😍. I also hope Nala will take on some of the responsibility for caring for the baby👏♥️, which can help ease Dalila’s burden.🦍💪
Het is VEEL BETER dat Dalila de zorg voor de kleine Makongo heeft, Nala zou er beslist niet goed genoeg voor geweest zijn. Ze is lief met Makongo, maar ze neemt hem op en laat hem het onderste boven hangen! Dus wil Makongo weer meteen weg en ze vind het heel gewoon dat Makongo op de vloer gedrukt word door die ??? En Makongo is heel blij dat hij terug is in de beschermende en liefdevolle en geduldige armen van Mama Dalila. ♥ Ik verheug me erop om te zien hoe het zal gaan als Daddy weer bij zijn zoontje mag komen die hij zolang heeft moeten missen ♥ ♥ ♥ Hopelijk blijft Dalila nog VELE JAREN gezond om voor de kleine Makongo te zorgen! ♥ ♥ ♥
While it is very sad that their mom died, at least Nala can finally get up close and personal with Makongo. ❤This to me, is quite heart-warming.

It almost like Makongo thought that Nala is his mama, he tried to confirm it by smelling her. When Nala picked him up, he was like "Nope, she's not my mama.." *crawl back to Dalila 😅 be strong little fighter 💪🏻 you can do it!! Daddy will be there for you soon. He will teach you a lot & love you unconditionally ❤

I Agree, it seemed that MAKONGO for a moment might’ve thought that Nala was his Beloved Mom Tamidol 🌺 At first when I saw him crawL toward his sister and climb up near her ear that he was Kissing her 😂 Instead, I THEN realized that he was smelling her, taking in her Scent so as to Identify and Confirm whether or not she was indeed Tamidol. What a PRECIOUS Sweet little baby he is 🥰🦋🌸 For another second, it even Looked as if MAKONGO was trying to Latch onto Nala’a breast 😂😂 I remember how Heartily and Hungrily he used to nurse from Tamidol. It was Pure Pleasure to watch her breastfeed him 💕🥰🦋🌺🌸

Seeing Baby Makongo crawl towards Nala brought back memories of when Tamidol was still alive♥️. It was deeply moving to watch Nala finally get to have close contact with her little brother again😍 after a month, and it brought tears to my eyes.🥹

@@shawna6683 Dalila is currently very cautious with all the members. She holds the baby tightly and does not let anyone get close. Nala was able to interact with the baby because Makongo took the initiative to crawl towards Nala.
This is just beautiful. Im so happy for Nala Maybe this will help them all with their grieving . I hope we get to see Daddy with baby, that is if Dalila will let him get close.🤎🦍🩶
@@ninawest8 For now, Dalila won’t allow Dad to get close to Makongo, but they can stay in the same room. Dad can observe his baby son from a distance. 🥰🥰

This is fabulous, thank you for sharing your experience. Dalila had zero patience for the mangabey nonsense around the baby! I’m thrilled for Nala. Is there any information about how things are going with the baby and the troop? Is Makongo fed exclusively through the mesh or has Dalila perhaps begun lactating? Does Makongo spend the night with the troop?
Makongo now sleeps with Dalila every night🥰, and he has fully returned to the family👏. Dalila takes care of him, keeping him warm, and just like his mother Tamidol, she holds him as he falls asleep♥️.
Makongo is fed exclusively through the mesh by the zookeeper with a bottle. Dalila doesn’t produce milk, but Makongo still climbs on her, searching for it.😂😂😂😘👶🦍

I don’t know what the little black monkeys are called but it is obvious that they are very happy to have Makongo back too. Dalia is very protective but Nala didn’t mind them touching the baby and showing love. So happy to see him with his family. ❤❤

At the Apenheul Zoo, Dalila's daughter Gyasi died not long ago. And she also left behind an orphan son Kiango. He is such a funny boy, he never leaves his dad's side...
When Gyasi passed away, Kiango was already over a year old, but Makongo is only 5 months old today, so he can't stay by Dad's side yet. Dad Lomako can watch him from nearby.🤝♥️🦍

All the practice Nala did before has come to good use now that she has unfettered access to Makongo.
Is baby Mokongo being nursed by Dalila or is he strictly being bottled fed?
The baby is mainly bottle-fed by the zookeepers, but I've also seen Queen Dalila nursing him. I believe he is being fed from both sides.🍼👶🦍💪♥️
I am so happy to see this. I really think that Nala will have to assist Dalila with the baby. The elder gorilla doesn't seem like she has the stamina.
Amazing how some of these older gorillas adopt these babies and care for them. True angels, even if they are slow they still do it. I think if the babies are bottle fed the keepers call them to the side and feed them thru the bars? The keepers must also feed the silverback extra too, and maybe the foster mom? Like ranking order? Or maybe to give the mom extra energy too…
@@jodib679The keepers always have to offer a treat to the adults involved to prevent jealousy. That’s what I’ve read anyway.
Dalila seems a bit slow, but for now, she is the only one who can continually be with the baby. She has naturally become a surrogate mother.

Except for the baby's feeding time, they can choose to be either outdoors or indoors. This is not a prison; they are free to decide where they want to stay.

The camera flashes shouldn’t be allowed. There was a red light too on baby’s face. Preying the troop don’t hear the noise from visitors.
