One of my best friend in high school put together a 1970 Maverick for his first car. What drew me to your car is that his was this exact shade of gray. He did the old school lacquer paint job on it. IIRC he laid down seven coats of paint and then cut and buffed it. That car looked like it came straight off the lot. After high school he sold it to a fifteen year old who proceeded to have two or three wrecks in it all in a span of six months 🥵
Drove a ‘72,4dr, 302ci/5 liter back in the day. Did some port cleaning, trans rebuild with shift kit, true dual exhaust, and a ton of other small tweaks( changing the rear diff from a tall 2.76 ratio to a 3.26 was in the works) , great ride and surprised a few guys around town.
Back in the day a friend of my friend had one, went for a ride - the fence on the side of the road does look like a picket fence... first and only time I rode one - I'll never forget it..
I think you’re referring to these Hot Rod Lincoln lyrics: “Now the boys all thought I'd lost my sense **Them telephone poles look like a picket fence.** They said, "Slow down! I see spots! The lines on the road just look like dots."
We have a full breakdown video on this car on our channel here! Check it out: ruclips.net/video/F43sRSbCF8c/видео.html
