I’d love to hear more about Knize 10. I would also like to know what you are looking for in a carnation fragrance. I found some carnation fragrances are more soft, like the Prada, and others are spicier. I prefer the spicier ones, especially the old Carons and Vitriol d’Oeillet. Other great options are from DSH; Oeillets Rouges, Souvenir de Malmaison and Fleuriste. I hope you find one you love.
My favorite of all time, mfk masculin plurial, is one ive always thought youd love, pep. One of the most elegant, gentlemanly scents ive ever put my nose to. Take care and glad to have you back.
@hewassuchaniceguy.7453 I have a feeling that I have actually reviewed Masculin Pluriel. I know it's popular, I seem to remember I wasn't a big fan of the lavender note in it. ruclips.net/video/kkEJgoVvt_M/видео.html
I bought my TF Noir de Noir this year from a discounter...so should be close to the current version. It still smells the same as my older decant. I have always known it as a rich scent but also one thats more of a personal scent bubble. It's quite persistent and there's a fair bit of woody amber sizzle.
I love carnation and I bought a Serge Lutens a few yrs back which really gives me what I enjoy in that scent - Its called La Fil De Berlin. I layer with Pure Honey and its really quite a combo!
Hi Pep. It's great to see you on Sunday morning (UK time) again. Carnation notes... be still my beating heart. I can trace my obsession back to a gift of a real bouquet of carnations handed down by a kind bridesmaid who made a little girl's day in the late 1960s. The cool feel of the blooms on my nose and that divine spicy scent. Lovely conversational video, Pep. 🤗
Hi Pep, i found the carnation perfume from Oriza L Legrand very interesting. More vivid and with a pep-pery kick. Have the Prada too which is softer in the known Prada way
My blind buy this week was Cerruti 1881. Not a big fan of the opening, but if I had to describe the dry down, I’d say it’s like if a pine note behaved like an iris note in your nose.
Unfortunately D'un Soir was always a let down for me. Went through two samples at the height of its hype on YT last decade (Cartier's sample sprayers were always amazing) and just wasn't impressed. Very much on the sparkly side of Ellena's style, but lacking the deep and full rose I was expecting. Nothing less than a victim of high expectations. Methinks I should have another go perhaps. 🤔
You're the best

I see that Mathilde Laurent is credited with this one, so might explain why it feels like a departure from the original.
