- Don't miss our most recent birding adventure in Israel, in the latest episode of our 'Field Guides' series.
In this episode, Chris and Diego, along with videographers Julián and Santiago, team up for the Champions of The Flyway bird conservation race. They birded tirelessly for nearly 24 hours straight, joining over 100 people from 26 teams from all over the world. With a “not too shabby!” tally of over 100 species, the full episode reveals our team's exciting final count - definitely worth a watch!
In this groundbreaking adventure, featuring The Birders Show whole team for the first time, they helped raise $40,000. These funds are now fueling Red-breasted Goose conservation projects led by various BirdLife partners in Bulgaria and Kazakhstan.

Not too shabby Birders Show! Thanks for the entertaining video and great work seeing and videoing some beautiful birds. Now I think you need to start a competition in Colombia and take on some of those teams on your home turf. 😁
Yeah Lucas… an event like this one in Colombia would be awesome!!! We all have thought on it 🙌🙌
I just wanted to say thanks so much to the whole team for uploading these high quality episodes for us. I know that a tremendous amount of work goes into producing a video like this. This is my favorite channel on YT and I can't wait for more!
Thanks mate!!! We gotta feature you on the show on stories or something when you come birding here with us! 🙌
@@diegoCOLbirding I would LOVE that :)

amazing country for birds and birding indeed!
Been waiting for this 😊 - excellent episode, and congratulations on a great trip !
thanks and glad you enjoyed it !
Damn i like the intervieuws but i realy loved this episode it should be longer!!! 🤩🤩🤩
Maybe its because i al more familiar with al the western paleartic birds, but it was amazing!
Jajajajaja… we would love longer but longer is not so popular with most of the audiences… glad you enjoyed it 👊👊
I'm a little late to the party😅 Congratulations everyone! Great video, I'm sure it took a lot of effort.
indeed, but most important: A LOT of fun! ;-)
Really excellent episode guys - as always! You should consider joining us on our South African Birding Big Day - we usually manage close to, if not over 330 species for the day. Anyway, keep up the great work!
we should... let's find a way to join you guys!!!
We're waiting for you guys! 😉@@diegoCOLbirding
Daniel LET's GET IN TOUCH and make that happen... can you send us an email to chirp@thebirdersshow.com please? ;-)
Excelente video. Me encantó la música. Gran trabajo y contribución🥰🥰
Epa hermano… el Santi se jaló una belleza de edición aquí 💥💥💥
Congrats on an awesome Champions of the Flyway day (and video). Thanks for sharing with us and for emphasizing the community aspect of birding. This is so crucial for bird conservation. I love how birds give humans something to unite on when there’s way too much else we are divided on. Thank you!
COTF is such a great conservation event.. happy to support showing it!
@@diegoCOLbirding So sad to see the destruction of war in the same place as this competition. Birds unite, humans divide. 😥
yea @@TheOvenbirder , pretty sad.... next TBS episode on Israel will feel weird... a tribute to this beautiful land ...
Wishing EVERYONE in that beautiful part of the world better times...
Magnífica experiencia y fantástico reportaje. Gracias por todo vuestro trabajo y dedicación!! Saludos desde España
Saludos y gracias por tus palabras 🙌 ¡nos lo disfrutamos muchísimo!
You should organize a race like this one in Colombia!
mmmhhhh, it could be, it could be...
Great show guys, really impressed on the number of Eurasian species you spotted, keep the shows coming. Could someone let Diego or Chris know I chose the book Birds of Colombia by Hilty and Brown from there advice, Thanks Guys.
That’s a good book mate, I like it… not lightweight enough for me to take to the field tho, but a great source of info!! 🙌🙌🙌
@@diegoCOLbirding I am a little (a lot) older than you Diego but thanks for the recomendation I read a new part of it every night. You are very lucky to have all that on your doorstep. Please keep the videos coming they are an inspiration.😀
enjoy it @@peterlittle6651 !!
Amazing.. You should definitely come to India and maybe I can show you around... I don't have a lot of experience but I'm sure that you'll have a great time and maybe I'll gain some experience too...
Thanks and absolutely YES !!! We need some contacts on India’s tourism authority/ministery, ngos, tourism bureaus, etc so we get an invitation to bring the show there!! 💥💥💥
@@diegoCOLbirding I would love to join you through the show and travel with you
@@wingsoffreedom632help us getting us to India mate and let’s make it real !!
@@diegoCOLbirding yes sure tell me where to start
Great video, really enjoyed the cinematography! Out of curiousity, what was the bird that was taken out of the checklist in the end?
GLAD you liked it... mmmhh, I don't really remember... I think it was one of those warblery / chiffchaffi impossible to ID things... mmmhhh...
mmmhh, good question!
Wasn't a Green-winged Teal btw. 😎
WTF!??? it was...!!
@@diegoCOLbirding Eurasian Teal, the green winged Teal would have a side white line (vertical) close to the front breast.
The Eurasian Teal got the line (horizontal) under the wing.
Happy someone else sees it ahah
@@bonoloris3501 ahh, I see what you mean... to label our birds on the shows, we use the taxonomy behind the latest eBird update version database ... and up to day, it shows as a subespecies so we only put specific names... ;-)
Green-winged Teal (Eurasian) (Anas crecca crecca)
@@diegoCOLbirding Ooh.. all right nice to learn that! At least my eyes were right as probably yours ;-)

I'm not the best at wader ID, but aren't the birds at 16:16 Temminck's stints?
For me they are Dunlin, black legs and white eyebrow more visible than the Temmincks... but who knows ^^
@@bonoloris3501 bill/overall structure of bird doesn't match dunlin, can't comment on what stint it is although
@@forral1614 @bonoloris3501 to be honest, NO IDEA...I am not the best at waders either... Yoav Pearlman IDed these for me... jajaja.. will send this to see what he thinks! ;-)
Great video!
My only criticism would be that the unbleeped salty language meant I couldn't watch this with my 5 year old.
sorry for that... we don't reallly make this for younger audiences as we try / like to transmit our birding trips and experiences as much original and real they are and if the guys have some salty language, we prefer to leave it so we show the real thing... sorry
I am Colombian and avid bird lover but this episode really bothered me considering where it took place: a place where Palestinians have been living under occupation for over 70 years and live under a system of apartheid. How can you guys be so insensitive? I am so dissapointed and sadden by this episode where millions have been suffering for so many years.
