Hi my friend and thanks for the view and great comment. I totally agree with you on the original AC band by far the best line up. Just great guitar playing and everything else. Also sorry for the late reply...
Great Job! This is one of my latest guitar projects for one of my most favorite all time songs. And this will definately speed things up for me Thanks Man!
Quite possibly my all-time favorite Alice song. And most of me loves it for the Guitar work on it. And you nailed it. Really amazing work on this; it’s even more unusual than I thought. You had the tone and even the proper feel right down to the fade out. Great job!
+The Woodys Surf Instrumental Band Hi. Thanks so much for the view and nice comment. I always liked this song also. Wished I could have continued right into Ballad of Dwight Frye but just could get the solo even close to sounding right. Thanks Again!
+jbl5050 Thanks ... I also just commented on your nice guitar work with The Grays tune. And liked what you did on Baby Blue. It's all about tone and feel which you seem to get on all your clips .... Brian
This was the first album that I learned front to back, and this is one of my favorite songs to play still. Not the most difficult by a long shot, just holds a special place. Well done!
Hi. Sorry for the late reply. Really appreciate the view and comment. Yes Love It To Death is one of my favorite albums also. It doesn't get any better than that original band!
@@jbl5050 you're welcome . I'm going to see Alice cooper live for the first time in October and I thought listening to you play would be a way in to appreciate that track.
I was listening to Second Coming on youtube today when I saw your cover on the side bar. My favorite song on the album. Absolutely outstanding cover. My 1st band did this song as a cover in the early 70s along with The Ballad of Dwight Fry and, of course, I'm Eighteen. We did many other covers of theirs as well from other albums. I could have even been playing an AC cover in my avatar from 1972 - I don't remember. I do remember playing the flam paradiddle part in Second Coming though. You are correct about the originals being the best. They were what made their sound. Alice has a long history, but I lost interest quickly after he ditched the original members. He has had some good songs after and some good musicians, but they never can recreate the charisma of the original band members. Their "fight" to be noticed above the others was what made them what they were - great and irreplaceable. The work on this song shows how they each did their own part to make a song great. Even with the trashy studio work on Pretties For You, their talent was still evident and showcased. His new album coming out soon called Paranormal even has Bob Ezrin at the helm with some songs from the original members. I'll drop some coin for just those few songs. Looks like you have some great covers from my era. I just clicked subscribe.
Hi. Thanks for the views, comments and sub. Really appreciate it! I agree with you in as this is probably my favorite song on LITD also. I hate to say it but my interest started going downhill after Killer although there were some great songs on Schools Out and Billion Dollar Babies they, to me anyway, just didn't measure up to Love It To Death or Killer with every song being good. Kind of coincidence but my next song I've been working on to cover is Halo Of Flies off Killer but I'm still having problems with a few parts that I just can't seem to get down like they should be. That stuff is HARD to attempt to cover. A lot of people just don't realize how good that band really was. Thanks Again!!
You're right. People don't realize their talent. Their music is hard to "isolate" the parts because each part was part of the whole, but you have done well so far. I had a co-worker who was from a different/later AC era. After I played him the song "Halo of Flies", he said he didn't realize how good the originals were. I'm looking forward to hearing the Halo cover. We did other covers. School's Out and Blue Turk from School's Out. Desperado and Dead Babies from Killer. Nothing from Billion Dollar Babies because we were closing out our days at that time. With the close the original AC days, my love found a new height - or low maybe. I found The Ramones and punk, but I also loved classical. I have a small channel where I wrote, played all the instruments and engineered all of the songs.
Another fabulous performance that you've delivered on this cover! Like one of the comments below, it's always amazing to imagine just how songs like these are created - the music is so creative and there's an interesting message in the lyrics. Since AC had a Christian background when young, those messages found their way into several of his early songs even though he wasn't actively following his faith in the early 70's. When he committed his life to Christ in the 80's, his music since then has carried even bolder Christian themes (check out the lyrics to the title song on Brutal Planet). And, while I fully agree the original AC Group was awesome, the touring band he had for the 2000 Brutal Planet Live Tour was phenomenal - check out the Brutal Planet DVD - one of the best concerts musically, not to mention a superb show, I've ever seen in person. Unreal guitar work by both guitarists (Ryan Roxie and Pete Friesen), great bass playing by Greg Smith, one of the best drummers in the world, Eric Singer - simply a powerhouse of a band! Anyway, fabulous job on this cover!! Really enjoyed it!
Hi my friend and thanks o much for the views and comments on the Alice Cooper songs here. I will for sure check out these AC song you recommended. I was fortunate enough to see the original band back in the 70's I believe twice during the Love It To Death and Killer period. I really sort of lost interest for some reason after Billion Dollar Babies album. Anyway thanks again. I've been watching your channel also you're both a great guitar and bass player. Love that Grand Funk stuff and everything else!
Good Job. It always amazes me how musicians can think of these songs and the instrumental parts in songs. Frank Zappa could write all the notes for his songs for each instrument. The musicians that worked for Frank had to read all of these notes and at times there were so many notes on a page that they referred to these types of pages as 'black pages'.
Thanks my friend for the view and great comment. The original AC band were such a good band with 2 great guitar players who came up with such melodical parts. This album and Killer are the best examples.
Great job! Seems lately whenever I need to look up on how to play a tune, you already have a video of it (Georgia Satellites "All Over But the Cry'n").
One of my favorite songs of all time, and the original Alice Cooper group is in my opinion the best of all time
