We have a 2023 27FBT International with the same setup but have not winterized yet. Are you sure the one valve you turned 90 degrees bypasses the hot water heater? I believe this valve just allows your electric water pump to pull from the gallon of antifreeze & not your fresh water tank. Also(correct me if I am wrong), I believe you would want to run antifreeze through your tankless water heater as this will also add antifreeze to your hot water lines. We had a Rockwood Roo RV previously & when I winterized it, I had to change the position of 3 valves to bypass the hot water tank & this was only done so you did not fill up your 6 gallon hot water tank with antifreeze.
You are correct, I misspoke. The valve allows the pump to pull from the antifreeze container instead of city water or the water tank. We have a tankless system on this camper as well. While we didn’t catch it in the video, when we ran antifreeze through the system we did it in both the hot water and cold water lines. Our previous camper, an Airstream Basecamp, had a hot water heater so we had many valves to turn as well. This system is much easier 😊
@@CajunMile so in order to go through tankless water system just make sure you turn on all faucets hot and cold while running antifreese? we have a 27 FB globetrotter 2023 that has tankless water heater. Manuel does not say anything about winterizing this unit. Thank you for video!
That’s what we did. I found an online link to the Globetrotter manual Winterization starts on Pg 8-14, it’s in the Maintenance Section. www.airstream.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/2023-Globetrotter-Owners-Manual-Rev01.pdf
Those two brass low point drains seem SO vulnerable. Were they OEM or did you add those? Our low point drains (Caravel) are inside, under the dinette. Also, don't forget the outside shower.
I think you should remove this video and replace it with the corrections you need to make. It is misleading to people who are watching it and not knowledgable enough to know what your errors are (and those mistakes could lead to damage to someones airstream)
I read the manual BUT this video does a much better job of explaining. Thank you!
Glad it was helpful. Thanks for the watch and comment.
You have to make sure to run the antifreeze through both the cold and hot water lines in the sinks, shower, and exterior shower!
Yes, we did that. Thanks for watching.
We have a 2020 and need info on how to also take care of the 6 gallon hot water heater holding tank
Hope our other response got you what you needed.

Those were oem. Thank you! We didn’t have an outside shower in our previous camper, Airstream Basecamp. The shower has been taken care of ☺️
We have a 2020. 6 gallon hot water tank. Do we also drain that tank?
Drain the tank, but I do not think you want anti freeze inside of it. There should be a bypass when pumping the antifreeze through.
Forgot the outside shower 🚿
Oh my, good catch! Our Basecamp didn’t have an outdoor shower, so I complete forgot we had one.
Do you buy/add moisture absorbers?
We did not, but we live in a very dry climate. A moisture absorber is a good idea, though!
You may want to open the valve on your water heater so you heater pipes don't burst.
Thanks for the feedback. We did this and forgot to call it out in the video.
@@CajunMile I appreciate your video and the effort it takes.
You didn’t do the outside shower.
We got it, thanks.
Here's how we winterized our trailer using the compressed air method. ruclips.net/video/lI-f0US7oYY/видео.html
That’s awesome, we had thought about that as well. Glad it provides options for people.

Thanks for the feedback.
There are better videos out there, they do not winterize their airstream properly.
Thanks for watching.
