12:42 That's actually a Yellow Bullhead Coyote! They're very often confused with juvenile Flatheads. You can tell them apart easily by looking at the shape of the head. The Bullhead has a round, bulbous head while the Flathead's head has its namesake flat shape. The neat thing about the Bullhead family is that their spines actually contain a mild venom - other common catfish species such as the Blue, Channel, and even Flathead catfish are often claimed to be venomous as well but of those only the Bullhead is!

Back in East Texas we used to leave some land with a cabin that we would go hunting on. I wasn't much for hunting but the fishing there was absolutely nuts. There would be times In the evening where if you just dangled your hook over the water you would not only have one fish jump out and hook themselves but multiple fish would get hooked on the same hook which was a nightmare. One time I was casting got my hook caught over the trout line that we had out and caught two fish from the hook dangling above. We talked to the man that own the land and he told us he did not want us eating the fish because they were small. We would catch so many of them that it was nutz. He said he had stock the lakes. We asked him when he had stock the lakes and he was like back in the '70s. We informed him about the number of fish and suspected that they're small size was due to overpopulation of the lakes and too much competition. He then told us to start throwing them on the banks and assured us something would eat them. We would not do that but from that point forward we were not afraid to fry up a few. Fried bass tail is delicious and I could eat them like chips.

While frog gigging in Louisiana I often come back with a few dozen bites from those orb weavers. Sometimes they’re even stuck in my shirt when I get back, you don’t really feel it when they bite, maybe like a mosquito. But they’re EVERYWHERE. Very pretty spiders though, I’m glad I’m not afraid of spiders!
