57 years after Ellen Ripley had a close encounter with the reptilian alien creature from the first movie, she is called back, this time, to help a group of highly trained colonial marines fight off against the sinister extraterrestrials. But this time, the aliens have taken over a space colony on the moon LV-426. When the colonial marines are called upon to search the deserted space colony, they later find out that they are up against more than what they bargained for. Using specially modified machine guns and enough firepower, it's either fight or die as the space marines battle against the aliens. As the Marines do their best to defend themselves, Ripley must attempt to protect a young girl who is the sole survivor of the nearly wiped out space colony.

Wow - that new 4K looks amazing. I grew up with that movie in the theater and have seen it a million times, but it has never looked crazy-realistic like that. Almost throws you off and looks kind of fake or something. Thanks for the upload!
In my opinion "Aliens" is by far one the greatest sequels of all times.
It's a toss up between Aliens and Terminator 2 for me.
I love the opening Theme, Main Title, how it builds to what sounds like very high-pitched screaming, headphones needed.
Alien, Aliens, Predator are my favorite sci-fi horror films.

Resurrection was terrible these drama movies they make now days are just stupid. Go read ''Aliens Defiance'' audio book that is the best thing I've came across and is accurate to Aliens.
“Thought he said ILLEGAL ALIEN and signed up” 😂😂😂😂
Everything Hudson said is my favorite line of this movie.
And when SGT Apone says “Hudson, come here!” Like he meant it, not a scripted line (Semper Fi Marine)
Fun fact: This is *EXACTLY* how the actress who plays Sanchez signed up for the movie. She originally thought she was signing up for an immigration movie focusing on "illegal aliens" and then she walked into the set and found out she was actually in a horror-action flick. The scene is actually a very clever in-joke.

@1:57 Ripley gets right to the point with that one sentence. Back in the 80's we actually took amazing movies like this for granted.
I didn't.
I'm ashamed to say that I did take this amazing movie for granted. I have never seen a film since this one (and I've seen it 8 or 9 times) that matches the intensity and excellence of the original. I mean ANY film, not just sci fi.
Well, back then there was an emphasis on making good quality movies because studios wanted to make money and filmmakers wanted to make a name for themselves and place themselves amongst the greatest. Nowadays it's all about agendas and affirmative action quotas. So while I did appreciate great films like this, I see what you're saying because when you compare a film like Aliens to almost anything that comes out today, it's like comparing a Rolls Royce to a Chevy Cruze.
@@axelfoley20 Back then you got a good part of your money from moviegoers returning to the theater for repeat viewings. With today streaming services and big tvscreens there is no reason to pay the fee twice unless the movie really hits different in a cinema (e.g. dune or Avatar). The amount of LOVE I have for this genius of a film is indescribable.
Including this scene.
This movie did such an amazing job for sci-fi horror. The first movie was a bunch of space truckers. How do you amplify the fear? Put a bunch of trained, cocky, and armed marines in front of the danger and make them feel hopeless. Such a masterclass. Nobody makes them like this anymore.
Because they are the best and used to being in the shit, and yet halfway into the movie they are swimming neck deep in dangerous shit and their own fear.
They slaughtered these supposedly intelligent and most dangerous aliens in numbers. They certainly didn't felt hopeless. Only difference, there were about ten of them against hundreds of aliens or, rather, bullet sponges. Aliens movie completely destroyed image of alien of the first film.
RIP Bill Paxton also RIP Al Matthews.

―Sgt. Apone
Gunnery Sergeant Al Apone of the Colonial Marines was played by Al (Alexander Basil) Matthews.
Matthews was in the United States marine corp and served for six years and was a Nam veteran with two Purple Hearts among other combat awards.
He really was a sergeant.
And a true "bad-*ss" marine.
One time he was asked in an interview why he left the marines.
He replied, "I have not left the Marine Corps, 'once a Marine, always a Marine'."
He also said, "...I was the only person in the movie not pretending to be a Marine, in fact I taught the other actors how to look and act....Al Matthews and Sgt. Al Apone (bet you didn't know his first name was Al, we did that as a joke) are the same person."

Fun Fact : Vasquez (actress Jenette Goldstein) is the same person who played John Conner's adopted mom in Terminator 2.

Another fun fact: A year later, Jenette Goldstein, Lance Henrikson, and Bill Paxton all starred in the vampire flick ''Near Dark,'' directed by James Cameron's then-wife Katherine Bigelow (who also later directed ''The Hurt Locker'' and ''Zero Dark Thirty.''

@@therealuncleowen2588 She’s not a Latina at all. And she received 3x the fan mail Sigourney Weaver did for “Aliens”. Men were in LOVE with her.
I saw it in her eyes
@@theholymackerel072 re "She’s not a Latina at all."
She could make somewhat of a claim to being Latina, because one side of her family lived in Brazil before coming to the USA, although she's Jewish (partly Ashkenazic with ancestors who lived in Central and Eastern Europe, and partly Sephardic Jews from Morocco, who were descended from Jews from Spain) . So if you don;t want to consdier her Sephardic Moroccan side as "Latino", since part of her family lived in Brazil (Portuguese-speaking Brazilians are grouped with Spanish-speaking Latin Americans as "Latinos" usually) you could say she has some Latino roots. But she grew up in a Jewish milieu in Calkifornia speaking English. Anyway, it's called acting.
Also Irish mom in Titanic, another Cameron film.
And she was the detective who got blown up on the diving board in Lethal Weapon2/
The dynamic between Pvts, Sgt and Lt demonstrates the royal roots of the navy. The disconnect between the noble commanding officer and peasant conscripts bridged by a ranked officer who rises from the peasants but spends considerable time with the nobles so understands both worlds and is able to administer discipline when such behavior from a noble could cause further rifts.
In the Aliensverse, that disconnect between the officers and the ground troops continues as well. A lot of the Colonial Marines officers come from the Academy, which are almost universally attended by children of middle to upper-middle Corporate families. (That is, families who are wealthy enough to be able to pull some strings to get their children into cushier and more prestigious roles in society, but aren't rich/influential enough to be the real power brokers of the wealthiest Mega-Corporations.) As such, the officers usually tend to come from "cushier" backgrounds, and their training and experience in military strategy and execution tends to be much more "by the books" and simulations. A lot of these officers basically never see any real action; their only real goal is to do a couple of tours, graduate, and then leave the Corps and parley their "experience" into landing a position at a Corporation as a Security Lead or something similar.
The result is that a lot of the enlisted troops basically do not respect their officers, which overall are just like Gorman. They're not BAD soldiers, technically, but their heart isn't really in it as they don't plan on making the Marines their permanent career, they don't really wish to bond with "their lessers", and the troops know it.
I've got such a huge crush on the pilot 😍

This movie is so quotable Im positive I quote it everyday without even realizing it.
Totally a masterpiece
Like just about all of the rest of this movie, this scene is perfect. A nervous Ripley gives a meandering, boring explanation of what happened on her previous voyage. But when the colonial marine squad starts goofing off, she suddenly turns serious and terse and gives a gut-tightening warning. It's hard to find a flaw in any of the Aliens' scenes.
Yeah, when she switches her self confidence back on you can see the innate leadership. She instantly commands presence in the way that Gorman doesn't.
I agree. The Marines definitely realized she's not fucking around by the looks on their faces.
Defo looked like Hicks got real for a second.
Its really unfortunate, but there will never be another one as good as this. This is it

One of the best ensemble casts ever!
STILL to this day scares me out of my seat..and Ripley is the BEST !!
I can't get over how good this movie is. As the quality of modern hollywood and cinema is in total free fall, this movie can be watched so many times, and the dialogue is STILL so good that it catches you every time.
Whereas modern movies are barely even watchable ONE time 🤮 they're THAT bad.
And they have such poor quality that rewatching them you only notice MORE flaws.
Vasquez was always my favourite character. I would have loved to see her backstory.
Likely the best science fiction movie of all time...
And in 4K, it's a whole new level of amazing
This is the best Alien film ever. Love the original, but this was the icing on top! 👾👾👾
when i was watching this scene i didn't like Vasquez. but she turned out to be a real deal Later in the movie. Great character.
Yeah cutting off Ripley had given me a negative impression of her too. Ripley was struggling to explain the situation because she remembered how she was treated in that meeting at the beginning of the movie and felt she was once again not going to be taken seriously. Once Vasquez finished her lines, and Ripley approached her with hope, that was enough for me to give Vasquez a chance.
This scene has a deep meaning:
If you are in the military, pissing off an officer is a bad idea, but making angry a SNCO could be the worst mistake of your life
2:20-2:22 You'll get out of that chicken-shit outfit when the mission is complete!
This movie so dope. How could they have more accurately portrayed the reality of business dealings and corporations/government? The supposed guy in charge has absolutely no clue, just like in real life. And the woman, reposed in the shadows, content in her position, is pulling all the strings.
I would love to know the stats on how many times this movie has been watched from start to finish. It’s the only sequel that was better than the original, and the first one was great.
Multiple bajillion starship meant to carry troops.
No briefing room 😂
It's actually not too crazy. If you've ever seen the inside of a submarine, it is cramped like you wouldn't believe. Even the Captain's cabin looks like a Business class pod on a modern airplane in terms of size. For vessels that need to travel for long distances and be very self-sufficient (and this includes modern spacecraft), space is usually at a high premium. As such, you usually ditch any room or feature that can't be used for at least multiple purposes.
That said, Gorman could have just held that briefing in the mess hall where everybody ate their meals earlier in the movie. XD
Its a multiple bajillion starship meant to carry troops, and there's no auditorium, rec hall, etc to gather the troops to brief them? Of course we leaving out using that same starship to carry like 15 marines.....
I cannot believe how good this looks in 4K. I've seen this movie so many times but never like this.
funny how this squad of "marines" behave more like a high school class.
