    Thank you for this informational video. We are definitely looking into both of these and I have been torn between which one to start with for my 4 year old daughter. This helped a little. Thanks again!

    I like I how mentioned there are different seasons- that is for sure😉. MFW always intrigued me. I borrowed teachers guide from friend. I ended up with HOD which we used Preparing and into HIghschool. But🤗 I did use MFW for k5 and 1st for my 2 youngest because we enjoyed the “phonics” reading. But they usually just listen in on older brothers history and science until they got older.
    This was such a great video of comparison !!!!

      Thank you. I love the freedom we have with homeschooling to pick and choose what works best for our families during those different seasons. This was encouraging to read! Thanks for stopping by.

      My grand daughter is 3 years old. I only have her on Saturdays. I do have background in childcare. I looked at both of these curriculums. Right now she is doing small Preschool learning kit. Wipe off workbook and Kate Snow Preschool Math At Home. I also purchased the Homegrown Preschooler and Summer Of Playing Skillfully. So she honestly doesn’t need anymore curriculum. But My Father’s World All Aboard The Animal is really cute. Such sweet hands on gentle introduction. To school which is the way it should be. I also had this same problem. Purchasing homeschool books even though my son. Went to regular school. I have bought stuff for myself to use. You guys are doing excellent job. Educating your kids. This is not just coming from mom of an adult child. It is coming from someone who has been working with kids for 30 years. Good books lots of snuggles. Nature walks are perfect. I still Nanny part time for my niece and nephew. Along with my granddaughter.

    This was very good!! Question, for a special needs child, which one is better?

    • @nurturingconnectionshomeschool
      @nurturingconnectionshomeschool  2 года назад +3

      This hits close to home, and for me and my family, we found that My Father's World was better suited for children with special needs. Because it's more of a family-style approach, it provides more teacher support as needed.
      Heart of Dakota can also work, but I would recommend using a lower-level guide, depending on the specific needs of the child. HOD leans more toward independent work in the upper grades, and this may be a bit more challenging. Of course, if you choose to go with HOD, you can always provide more instruction and support as necessary.
      The beauty of homeschooling is that we can always make adjustments and changes based on the unique needs of our family. Hope you find what works best for you and yours. :)

    My two children are 4 and 5.5, so they are 17 months apart- my daughter can read some but not fluently yet. I also have a 1 year old. What do you think would fit us better?

    • @nurturingconnectionshomeschool
      @nurturingconnectionshomeschool  5 месяцев назад +2

      My personal favorite for that age was My Father’s World: God’s Creation from A to Z. For my younger two, we did a separate reading program but enjoyed all of the other activities and lessons in MFW.
      We then switched to HOD for first grade then back again. 😊
      I have a review on MFW kindergarten if you want to check it out to get a better idea if this would be a good fit for you and your children. Hope that helps!

      @@nurturingconnectionshomeschool thank you!! I definitely want to pick something and stick to it I feel like I have switched so many times this year lol. What reading program did y’all use?

    • @nurturingconnectionshomeschool
      @nurturingconnectionshomeschool  5 месяцев назад +2

      @@lindsaypotter3694 totally understand. One thing to keep in mind is that if you go through either program straight, there may be some repeat years or “catch-up” years, depending on the age of your child.
      This gave us just a little bit of flexibility to try something different for a year or two then continue on with the curriculum. 😊
      I have a video with the reading programs we’ve used over the years as well. I hope that is helpful.
      Enjoy the journey. 💗
