IM TELLING YOU THE PHONE RINGING IS MY BIGGEST FEAR LMAO
LOL! That's like 90% of the job for most receptionists!
i get anxious eveytime the phone rings 🤣
You really need to sit down and imagine the ABSOLUTE WORST THAT COULD HAPPEN. Seriously, will they be rude? Will they yell at you?
Who cares? Jerks are jerks, and it's their problem, not mine. Tell yourself that you simply will not allow others to determine how you feel about you!

"Great people don't want to be around negative coworkers" 👏 👏 👏
I totally love it when people come to my desk....but wow when the phone rings.....I forget how to speak in english 😵💫
One of the most important individuals in the company "the receptionist" yet they're the most underpaid workers...
I’m 17 years old and just got offered a job as a receptionist for a hair salon and tomorrow is my first day of orientation and I’m nervous !!! This video helped

hows it gone so far? im in the situation with my sa :)
LOVE how blunt this is. Thank you so much for this!
Thank you for the kind words. (Some don't appreciate my bluntness...) :)
I started work as a receptionist at a veterinary hospital. All the things mentioned in this video seem like basic common sense things you should do at any entry level job. Right now, I'm learning how to interface with the medical aspect of the job. Communicating to clients about procedures, vaccinations, surgeries. The computers we use have lots of options for medicines, treatments, procedures we need to be knowledgeable about. We have to interact with clients, as well their pets. And every interaction is highly interactive, personal, with lots of banter back and forth, as well as having a strong working knowledge of the various "patients" and their histories, as well as being able to recognize both clients and their pets by face. There is much to learn in the technical side, and the medical software we use "Cornerstone" is going to take some time to study.
I am not a receptionist. But I am watching this video every day. This is a manual for life.
Well said! I couldn't agree more! Thanks!
I just got a job as a receptionist for a chiropractic clinic and i dont have experience as a receptionist and very little customer service experience idk how i got the job and now im watching videos like this.. you’ve been a great help! Thank you!!

I just got hired as a Hotel Front desk receptionist. I have 0 experience with being a receptionist but, I have 5 years experience working as a customer service representative and and I’m very grateful that they gave me a chance to start my career as one with them. Let me tell you, it is very challenging, hospitality is way different and very challenging, you have to engage with guests, interact with them face to face, and its TRUE you have to LOVE THE PHONE and your keyboard and computer. As of now I am still on training and really giving my best and pushing myself and be at BEST and staying humble with customers. I honestly like the challenge and I like learning more and more everyday. THANK YOU for this VIDEO
I have an interview with Marriott Hotels tomorrow for front desk :)
Thank you!
Best of luck on the interview!
I get exited about professionalism ...this is so Great!

I just started mine. Did you get more confident later on? I'm confident but first day was also tough today. I'm sure there are a lot of success stories that start like this
Thank you for the tips! I just started a new job! I’m a first time receptionist at a veterinary hospital ☺️
Outstanding! Congratulations!
Omg me too!!
I’m starting this and I’m so nervous
@@cflcami1008 same here! How is it going??
Love the ringing phone, love your job, leave the attitude at home and guest is your passion.say yes who would like to be a great receptionist. So let's try and follow the rules.here you go.
My ex manager told me not to write things down. But I did anyway bc that's the way I was trained. Everything you recommended I actually do. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼😊
I see a receptionist as the shield for the business and the boss. You are there to take the blows, abuse, and brush away nuisances. You need a tough skin and a quick wit, yet you are also the mask of professionalism which is everybody's first impression of the business. You are the key to the success of the organization and the least appreciated.

This is one of the best comments
This is is such a accurate description of the job. In my case m, my managers are really lovely and have been helping me in my role as I’m still a trainee
I just started working as a receptionist, and I wasn't expecting that it'd be so different from my previous job as an administrative assistant. I'm finally feeling a bit more confident about it. Thanks for sharing!
My first job as a receptionist starts next month. The mirror is a good tip and writing everything down is another good tip. Thanks.
Glad it was helpful!
Ha ha! I checked this vid - out of curiousity - as I learn in the next day or two if I amm successful applicant for hotel receptionist - which I have never done before. 🎵Sounds crazy but I'mm frightened by the sound of a telephone 🎵😂 Everything pretty basic as it is guest services. I love paper & pens and can write like the wind PLUS I have excellent report writing and docummentation skills- I'm very detailed. Good luck with your new adventures🍀 Isabel
Best of luck hun you got this !

I just watch this video and i love it. I'm a nervous person i have a sister in law that is offering me a job to be a receptionist at her beauty business. I don't want to tell her that i can't do it because I don't want to be negative but i really would love to give it a try i just need to lose my fears and to learn how to speak with people. Thank you for this video.
My pleasure! Glad you liked it and good luck with the new gig!
An old video, but still great tips! We've all had to be the customer. Just treat people the way you want to be treated.
Old? Hmmm... I guess I am. :)
😂😂 this is funny! The way he said it in steps then got to please leave the attitude at home ❤❤❤
Sir, you have won me over without any single second to waste. I will take all of your advice to grow on and develop myself. I will research the type of things you have mentioned to give me more support! Thank you.
I’m French and will start working soon as a receptionist and your videos plus your sympathy made me feel so happy. Taking notes of everything you’re saying. ☺️
Thank you for the kind words Alisson! Glad you found this helpful - best of luck!
Thank you this was really helpful. Love the telephone ring changes everything! It's all about the good attitude!
Great video, to the point and stating the obvious. Customer service is ALL ABOUT THE CUSTOMER! Totally agree about leaving the attitude at home! And when you return to the call after placing them on hold, thank them for waiting and don't say "are you still there?" Of course they are!
Steve your videos are so good why did you stop making them? I'll start to show them to all my new receptionists. You are awesome!
Thank you, Emeraude; I appreciate the kind words. I'm actually still making videos, though they're mostly focused on sales and leadership.
I just had a interview today for a receptionist job at a car dealership. I am very nervous. My first day will be tomorrow and this video has been really helpful! Thanks.
Excellent! So glad to hear it!
I work from home for a call center. I do customer service chats mostly but have some phone interactions. There is no hiding on the phone when you are used to typing. These are great tips for any customer service person.

Excellent Video 👍🏾❤️❤️❤️ The college I went to said that I was the most nice and assertive person. Customer Service Representative I heard would be great for me.
Cheers dude i needed the first bit the most, I always used to bring my problems to work and moan about the company, wondered why everyone wanted me gone, I'll use this in my next job on the front desk and hopefully i can be up there with the best!

I will become a receptionist but I'm too afraid because I'm not expert in speaking English... This is my first time 😩 after watching this video I already know that receptionist should answer the call 😃
Don't sweat it; you got this! Most everyone will understand the language barrier, and those who don't have a personal problem that has nothing to do with you - they're just jerks.
