You really need to sit down and imagine the ABSOLUTE WORST THAT COULD HAPPEN. Seriously, will they be rude? Will they yell at you?
Who cares? Jerks are jerks, and it's their problem, not mine. Tell yourself that you simply will not allow others to determine how you feel about you!

I started work as a receptionist at a veterinary hospital. All the things mentioned in this video seem like basic common sense things you should do at any entry level job. Right now, I'm learning how to interface with the medical aspect of the job. Communicating to clients about procedures, vaccinations, surgeries. The computers we use have lots of options for medicines, treatments, procedures we need to be knowledgeable about. We have to interact with clients, as well their pets. And every interaction is highly interactive, personal, with lots of banter back and forth, as well as having a strong working knowledge of the various "patients" and their histories, as well as being able to recognize both clients and their pets by face. There is much to learn in the technical side, and the medical software we use "Cornerstone" is going to take some time to study.

I just got hired as a Hotel Front desk receptionist. I have 0 experience with being a receptionist but, I have 5 years experience working as a customer service representative and and I’m very grateful that they gave me a chance to start my career as one with them. Let me tell you, it is very challenging, hospitality is way different and very challenging, you have to engage with guests, interact with them face to face, and its TRUE you have to LOVE THE PHONE and your keyboard and computer. As of now I am still on training and really giving my best and pushing myself and be at BEST and staying humble with customers. I honestly like the challenge and I like learning more and more everyday. THANK YOU for this VIDEO

I see a receptionist as the shield for the business and the boss. You are there to take the blows, abuse, and brush away nuisances. You need a tough skin and a quick wit, yet you are also the mask of professionalism which is everybody's first impression of the business. You are the key to the success of the organization and the least appreciated.
