@The Wolf of Justice and Truth The thing isn't all about pay it's about the environment you make. Hell I work for very little pay currently at a retail place doing back end stuff and merchandising, however with the climate of the people working there, it makes it so much better. People want to come in because everyone is nice and it's laid back.
i like this part " how may i direct your call " because some people refuse to hear word of " help you " and when they listen to this word they start conversation with receptionist in stressed way , Thanks for the another choice ^_^
At my employment, permission is required to contact any member by their mobiles and 99% of the time, permission is not granted. Otherwise, email is adequate as their mobiles are set up to receive emails. This is a great video. Many thanks Jerry
It’s not always “how may i direct your call?”, especially if many people don’t immediately know who they need to speak with. You need more information to properly assist the caller. Be confident in asking to help, it’s ok. It’s also a low key way of screening calls.
This is awesome!!! So much helpful information for me to note. I have no experience in being a receptionist but I'm starting over in life and this video will help me get the position. I've done customer service for 5 years, so I know how to handle upset people. People are what I know best after 10 years in direct sales. Thank you for this detailed video. Your amazing!!!
@@thedarkside1985 I was burnt out so customer service and sales over the phone were something I stopped loving. I now make vegan cakes and cookies for customers. I found something I love to do and it never feels like work.
This helped me alot. I do security night shifts and I did overtime at a cruise ship site & they liked me & asked me to cover their receptionist for 2 weeks day shifts from tomorrow and ive been so nervous lol. Ive done nights for 11 years so not really use to dealing with humans lol Thank you so much. It is so true when you call you can really hear in the voice when people cant be bothered to deal with you
this is a great video and it is very resourceful and helpful! i will be using all of these actions to better myself and future my career as an office administrator!
Aiman Malik would you like to tell me please that how much tasks done by as a receptionist?? and if you are working in a hotel that what is the responsibilities of receptionist??
Being operator it's a dead end job there's no room for growth I've been operator for 10 year for three different major hotel companies take my word for it.
Hi sir I'm working as a receptionist, but I frequently have this problem I really don't know how to fix this.. when customers call me and ask for someone, and when the person not in office or not in their place, I will usually take note their name, their company name and their phone number.. but when they mention their company name I having this problem I always end up listening it wrongly, when I said that I don't hear it clearly and I ask the customer to repeat their company name, they will angry,... Sometimes when I ask them to spell their company name also they spell it so fast and quickly cut off the line.. bcoz of this problem I can't give any information to the Co worker that the person have call her.. When there is walk in customer looking for something also.. I feel very hard to communicate with the customer.. When the customer tell their name and their company name.. I very hard to understand it quickly.. I have to ask the customer 3 times for me to understand.. sometimes I will ask the customer to write their company name and their name in a piece of paper.. I know it's not professional way.. but I have no other way since I can't understand easily Wat people telling me ... Normally I will be struggling a lot when customer walk in and ask me for something.. I don't have listening skills
Walk ins's - ask them for their business card , if they don't have one, ask THEM to please write it down (make sure you can read it). . Act like this is normal, it's your offices new normal. It's more efficient, less chance of errors and less frustration for everyone.
Jasinta Selvi - another idea for walk in's- Visitor's Journal- Ask company if they could start using one or for a low tech option, just use a notebook and ask visitors to please sign in & put in their contact info.in. Goggle " Visitor's Log" to learn more. About understanding accents; The more you listen to accents you find difficult and unfamiliar the more you'll get used to them. Then you'll be less stressed and able to focus, (ask speaker to please slow down & repeat it back -go slow) and with practice it will get easier. Watch & Listen to Radio, tv, DVD's, iTunes, RUclips shows with accents you have a hard time hearing. You are not alone, common problem, Read this article eurolinguiste.com/accent/
Hi Jerry Thibeau. I'm 44 years old and I'd like to become a Hotel receptionist. Be straight with me, what's my chances to get a job in a Hotel at my age if I finish a course as a qualified Hotel receptionist?
I have to do a receptionist position at my tattoo parlour until I start tattooing, I have to talk on the phone to customers and I have extreme anxiety and can never talk on the phone, I get extremely nervous and stutter a lot, I feel like when I try to do a phone voice I sound extremely fake and it just doesn’t sound natural at all 😩
thanks this video very useful but please tell me if u know about that UAE if anyone working in uae hotel ?? how much leave in a week if you are working in uae hotel ??? can anyone tell me the uae hotel rules regarding leaves and accommodation as well?? and last dresscode of receptionist

Nice smile politics. and the way of thinking to please the customer. One of the things that I like in American companies. But if we speak of social rights, than I say I'm much better in Europe.
Want a good receptionist? Treat them well, pay them good, and see the difference.
Exactly.
UwU what about Pam...
The Wolf of Justice and Truth UwU it’s not fair to assume that all receptionists, including young women, are scum.
