The difference between a storm chaser and a non-chaser is that the chaser sees a tornado gets excited and stops to get a better look and pulls out his camera only to realize that they he is in the direct path of the tornado so they move to another location to get a better look/angle only to realize that the tornado is building and might still come at them so they move another 50-100 feet away. Whereas the regular person sees a tornado or gets a warning and runs to the nearest storm shelter or safe place to wait it out.

Great commentary and nice video! Looked at the models for Winterset and Creston areas and one of them had a possible "SigTor" comparison. Could not make it down there due to 180,000 miles on my car and $4 gas. Going to have to team up with someone next time. Subscribed to all....
Thank you

It so weird were i lived in Wisconsin i only got huge rain and lightning. But a tornado almost hit Wisconsin
Great footage my man. Not over the top and no yelling.
Thank you
That's interesting to see this tornado. I was driving a semi in California the day of the storm, but at that time I looked at the local radar in a truck stop and once I looked at that cell over chariton I called friends who were in sigourney to take cover. No matter what the news said I could tell by the radar it was a tornadic cell. And then of course the reports started to come in of the other storms. But luckily those cells broke up for the most part after this video.
Sounds like you need a career change!
@@applelandry4233 unless you mean the radar observation I get it now, I learned how to read the radar when I got my pilots licence a long time ago, take care.
@@braneden lol, I meant radar. I love justifying any excuse to travel. If it was free (or even reduced rates) I'd be even happier
@@applelandry4233 that's my take on travel too, trucking isnt real pretty but it's a free road trip. I only truck periodically today so that's even better. I used to storm chase as a young man but the radars are way better today you can see a.tornadic storm pretty easy, especially on a super cell. When a tornado drops it's in the scud on the left usually southern side of the super cell, , scary and dangerous and a little fun to observe....
Thanks a lot, awesome job 🙏
I appreciate your commenting (without shouting around 😁👍) 😍 Stay safe out there 🙏🍀
In Sioux Falls we had our first thunderstorm of the year turn into a blizzard that went til midnight. Wild that not too far away Iowa was getting slammed by a huge tornado. Wild times.
Sometimes weather here is not boring
@@TornadoCrewStormChasers We had a tornado here in North Ar the following day, I think. The wind had indeed whipped up a whirlwind that day.
Great work!
The white building with the blue roof and white "pillars" is the seed company where my niece and sister n law works. Thankfully they had a basement, however, none of them knew this tornado was coming at them until my mother in law called my niece and told her to take cover. Friend of the family not so fortunate as it hit their hotel, the bait shack, and the soda pop saloon. It devastated red haw state park. This is my husband's life long hometown and mine for 20 years. @@goldenarrow3 I have been watching for a year. He is so accurate! Thank you for the reply.
These storms were warned for days.
@3:02 i seen your truck from the gas station on video 😂
I’m sorry, it needs to be said: Who in their right mind would LEAVE THEIR DOG OUTSIDE DURING A TORNADO? Horrible! Poor guy!
I think he wanted in my truck
Dorothy !
@@TornadoCrewStormChasers Very risky to try to get a random dog in his own home territory into your truck, he is more likely to see you as a threat then someone trying to help, be careful.
So refreshing not to hear someone screaming with over excitement and swearing all the time. Great footage and you help us to view it. New subscriber
Thank you
I was getting ready for work while this was going on.
amazing footage!! happy you’re safe
Awesome video and stream and awesome job and be safe there to 🎥🎥🎥🎥🎥🎥🎥🎥🎥🎥🎥
I think the tornado screwed up my live stream. I don't know if it was the extreme cloud cover, rain, lightning but when that tornado got close it messed with my live stream signal. Thanks for watching both media's.
Not in the Midwest lol. Plenty of people just stand and gawk at the storm.
Last night I kept watching different tornadoes chasers and I saw one huge when it crossing 169 it said. I hope and pray for the people of Iowa and Illinois. This one looks smaller but is growing. I hope today in NE Mississippi we don’t get any today as there’s a chance of severe weather today until tomorrow. It might be overnight.
I see it also. You guys stay safe. This is gonna be a rough spring I think. To many tornados so early. I don't how it keeps going around us in Middle TN. Put praying for y'all tonight and tomorrow. ❤
@@Lunch_landy thanks God bless you too, if you have seen lately more natural disasters like seismic in some areas I think in Mexico and I I think a volcano possibly erupting. This is globally and then an unhinged dictator threatening humanity with nuclear weapons and seizing nuclear power plants don’t sound that we are in a safe world anymore. I’m glad I believe with all my heart in Jesus Christ as my savior and Lord with God the father and I’m not afraid because there’s eternity with no more sickness and everything in this world will dissolve like snow. Just love , praise and grateful of everyday’s blessings.
Amen!! Absolutely I feel like the world is turned upside down and we are living in a horror movie. But you are exactly right the Good Lord will keep us safe and take us home to peace. ❤
Good folks in Chariton. I hope everyone is safe.
This guy makes watching these videos cool
Good footage and a safe, sensible chase. Thank you!
I forgot how flat the plains states are. Nothing to slow them down. Nice job, pray and be careful man.
Yes you can really see when it's completely flat and the inflow has no interference, the tornadoes form easier.
@@TornadoCrewStormChasers I have Pheasant hunted Iowa and what looks like a small field of hay, corn , whatever. It takes 1/2 a day to walk 1/2 of it. Must add the folks there are just plain good folks. Humble, honest, hard working, welcoming while commanding respect.

Holly molly what a sad day for those people thank you for video taping this what a incredible tornado 🌪
Tuned in to another channel the other day a rainstorm. The guy talked loudly all the way through it. AT least I got to see the lightning, but I wanted to hear the rain.
Great video. Stay safe out there!
Excellent coverage.
Very calm and professional 👌
Thank you for watching
Good capture. I wonder if a slower wiper speed would help.
The camera then focuses on the rain drops. I could do manuel focus on my main camera but I also have a live feed camera going and that is always auto focus. If the drops are there too long it focuses on the drops.
whoa, i guess the 2022 tornado season is getting off to an early start
it was an ef4 when it hit winterset, i watched it from 1/4 mile away, TG it hit south of town.
This was a different tornado. This one maxed at ef3. This was the Chariton tornado. Yes the Winterset tornado was an ef4. I think the Winterset tornado already had gone thru Winterset while I was filming this one to the south.
I live in Tulsa and did not know this happened and it was just 2 weeks ago.
Nice Footage.
Use rain-ex, it works well, with the rain and you don't have to use your wipers
I've been thinking that when watching these vids.
Know wander why there was a huge amount of black gray clouds this thing skipped Knoxville,Chariton is right next to knoxville
At 8:30 the tornado siren sounds so eerie & creepy. It’s also the beginning of where you hear the roaring wind more clearly!
Thank you so much
Great footage....they rate tornadoes by wind speed like hurricanes?
Yes they look at the type of damage and thru structural engineering mathematics figure it would take x amount of windspeed to create the particular type damage. Thus more windspeed a higher rating.
I live in iowa. Ive stayed in that motel that got hit , im a commercial roofer. This is happening more and more and earlier and earlier every year. Our climate is changing. After these series of tornadoes then it snowed 5 inches a few days later . Scary times we live in
Man the hotel and gift shop place were both hit badly and red haw. my frnd owns the gift shop and the next day i went over to check on them and holy cow the after math was sad. a whole buildin was tore off and broken and it was horrible. im just glad there okay
Great work!!! Maybe carry some Milkbones? Stay safe brother 🙏
Great footage!
So me and my sister and my mom where on our way to our aunts house who lived in chariton we stoped at a gas station be for we left and the sirens went off but we could still see the sun so we thought we’re fine we started driving and about ten minutes in we start to get worried you look one way and see heaven look the other and it’s like black clouds about 20 minutes in the winds picking up.then why we were about ten minutes from chariton it started pouring and the winds were going and we were honestly terrified….but then we decided that we NEEDED ago pray…..we asked Jesus for his protection and for us to get to our aunts house safely…as soon is we said amen (it was so magical) a double rainbow shone through the sky it was so vibrant then we knew we where protected….now we are in chariton and there is pea sized hail coming down the winds where so bad.we got there and apparently there was a super bad tornado that killed a man in his trailer and a family with two kids under two 😢 I thank you Jesus for that promise 💗💗💗
As I was driving eastbound on 34 to Chariton I was driving into 2 tornado warned storms in the area. I have computers and weather radar, and I am familiar with navigating a storm. But I wondered if the other people on the road even knew they were driving into a tornado warned storm. Being weather aware is important.
@@TornadoCrewStormChasers ya we knew it was bad like the wind was pushing our car !! Mom thought there was a tornado close so she said let here know if u see anything but I was telling myself no there’s no tornado because I didn’t want to get caught in one but then we were watching the weather and sure enough there was a nado…..deep down inside I want to see a tornado because there just so majestic and eerie all at the same time but then again I don’t feel like dying lol
I know that most Iowans know when the storm is bad but ya know….some people know there’s a tornado coming and the are standing in there drive way looking up like the nado just going to avoid me 🙄 but then there’s people that don’t even know what the sirens are for there some people I’ve met who don’t even know what a tornado is and I’m like….you’ll find out eventually 😆
That was crazy right at the end looked like the movie twister
Wondering if it went over Orange street gravel road on 34
Great video!! Thanks for sharing it!!
i used to be scared of tornadoes but now there some sort of beautiful , deadly .. but beautiful 🥺

Crazy👋 But amazing 😯😲
It's been a while since I seen storm chases doing the daredevil, just livelihood of people wiped out🙁
I watched it live yesterday
Lots of comments about why he didn’t get the dog. Its a valid point and also possibly trespassing on private property. The dog really wasn’t in danger. He got a nice video. We all watched it and had a good viewing experience. Cheers🍺
The tornado was moving away. The dog was in no danger. The green street sign at the intersection signifies a public street. It was a dead end though. At the end yes private property. You can't take possession or control of property belonging to someone else that is theft. The demeanor of the dog could be an unknown, espically when I put him in a strange vehicle and continue storm chase with him. My truck is full of expensive equipment. The dog was soaking wet and muddy. If the dog was injured from the tornado I would have tried to find help. I see a lot of animals running loose while storm chasing. I can't be driving around with a storm chasing vehicle full of dogs and cats.
Your point is well taken. My apologies if I offended. For the record, I did state the dog was not in danger and the road was possibly private. Enjoyed your work!
@@65gto32 no not offended I thought you were stating the obvious. He was ok. BTW I love pets. I have helped injured animals on chases, or got turtles out of the road. My last animal I helped was an OWL.
Excellent content 👍🏻
How close to the big Hy-Vee home base distribution center was that?
They're right there in chariton on the outskirts.
It's my only trusted source of weather warnings
Why did you leave the dog??? You could have put it in the car and dropped it back off later when it was safe and the chase was over. The street had a sign on it.
Will do next time Karen.
Its a farm dog they hide good pretty good if it gets too close . Just another crazy weather day off 34 .. think that went right over our 90 acre piece .
