Background information: The 540 was one of the first advanced kicked that I learned 20+ years ago. However, it is not as smooth as yours and I'm trying to relearn the move. hey billy, whenever i do my 540 my kicking leg is awfully low. i can do it on a circular mat in which my tricking coach told me to use for practice drills. without it, im not leaning back, and i cant kick my leg that high. any advice?
+Azuki Umeda oh ok, so there are a few way to get that leg up, 1) you can try bending the kicking leg more before you kick, this will reduce moment of inertia 2) get a kicking pad or target and practice aiming for it high, this will help lots, get someone to hold a target for you higher than you and practice kicking it even if you can't at first 3) your kicking knee is not high enough~ you can upload a video of yourself and I can have a look if you want~
Turn your head first before your body. It shouldn't go like this: Body & head spin at the same time. Once you turn yoru head, the rest of your body should follow.
