I totally understand this song and it’s really sad that we live in such a cruel world. When my son was about three years old, we were coming down the escalator in 42nd Street Station. There was a homeless man lying down at the bottom of the escalator against the wall. My son held out both of his little hands and said, “Mom! help him”! I didn’t know what to do or say to him. Basically our society is just that pitiful! Just listen to the young! Their hearts are pure and unstained by this world and it’s blind eyes 👀
this is such a powerful song. I think we all need to remember to have compasion for one another. In light of current events...we need to pull together.
The solo at the end played by Kenny Withrow is one of the best ever. I've listened to so many live versions of this song on the internet, but I was lucky enough to be there live, back in 2004. Goosebumps!
Everlast deserves way more respect. WAY MORE. I'm not even the biggest fan, but it just seems plain as day he's been shrugged off by white people, likely thanks to his hip-hop influence and background, and has been similarly shrugged off by the black community (let's be honest: this side of Eminem, "white guy rap" isn't exactly a popular genre). All the while, this guy has stood the test of time. He's a legit artist. It's plain as day.
My best friend and I used to listen to this song before school 12 years ago. He passed away last year. This brought back a lot of memories. Especially this version. I was glad to turn him onto everlast.
THANK YOU GUYS from 1999 to 2014!! sometimes we forget to remember that EVERYONE has their own "what its really like" moments in life.. some harder than our own, and some weaker.. but still none are less nor more important then any other .. WE ALL CRY THE SAME SALTY TEARS AT THE END OF THE DAY..
Such a great song, good live performance recording. This is just the way the guy sounds. I think he has a great voice. And the message he spreads is an eye opener.
i havent been able to identify with the problems everyday people face in these specific lyrics but this song speaks volumes about my life with bi polar. i have never truly felt that my family or anyone else in my life that 1 person could actually put themselves in my shoes and this song means a great deal to me
Don't define yourself by Psychology. Psychology is Narcissism at minimum by own rules right out of the box brother. Psychology is for people who don't have the Aptitude to do a science, Integrity to walk own rules. Trust me, you won't begin to understand the observations of Psychology, until you understand the psychology of Psychology. Use the Objective Hypocrisy Test, Own Words and Actions against Own Rules. I challenge the profession daily - Pass a Sniff Test using own rules, they all run. Objective Systems Analysis my Profession, do not put yourself in a box....
This song is so powerful. I speaks of things that most people want to bury and not think about. These things happen everyday & should not be ignored. I am so blessed for what I have and that is great, but there needs to be some awareness of what happens every day.
This song, I heard it when I was around 9 years old, and it resounds with me and billions more today still. Everlast and all the 90s will become the Immortal Generation...
The realist and most awesome lyrics and music ever composed in history, I will play this song till my last day on this earth!!! 😎 and it will be played at my grave!!
My mom taught me to “NEVER JUDGE AN INDIAN TIL YOU WALK A MILE IN HIS MOCCASINS!!! AND IM 62 and I’ve ALWAYS REMEMBER HER WORDS!!! Best words ever spoken, SHOULD BE ADDED TO THE BIBLE!!!!

Back in the day, I remember hearing the evolution of Everlast for the first time. As a casual rap fan, but a huge rock, alternative and grunge fan, I was blown away by his talent. This transformation was exactly what I wanted to hear and I’ve been a super fan ever since. Some of the great music ever written.
it was me making a point that people shouldnt hate on Everlast because he took his music stlye to another level...he followed his sould and thats were it took him....nothing wrong with that
I read somewhere..."The only time you should look down on someone is when your going to help him up.".......❤
