Thanks for putting this together, while I consider myself modding literate putting mods on top of major mods is always a sketchy prospect and having a guide to follow makes me much more comfortable.
Any mod that requires F4SE you need to make sure its the right version a lot of these mods have been updated for the newer version of it, which was done for the Fallout 4 update your downgrading, Mismatching those may cause issues
It is worth mentioning that you don't need to put the "downgraded" game files into the original Steam folder, I would even recommend using a custom folder. That way 1) Steam is not updating this custom folder 2) you can keep using your original Fo4 installation 3) You still can use a mod manager and other tools to configure your custom Folon folder.
Thanks so much for going through this and showing everything for dumbasses like me. Fiddling with load orders and messing up small details which destroy everything you've been working on for 5 hours is nightmare fuel for me. But this has been SMOOTH.
Worth mentioning that the ultrawide fix that they refer to has A LOT of issues. Like crashing when you're leveling up. For those with this issues "Ultra Wide Interface" is recommended to use instead. It's also built for working with the pre-baked mod that FL has
If you ever do a video on how to change settings (graphics, display) and which line does what, that would be amazing. I struggle to know what to change in order to have maximum graphics quality, and how to make it windowed.
cheers just finished doing ur previous video as i came into a problem with missing textures so had to do it manually, now to see if it works with all the recommended mods added. Thanks again!
I'm trying to just get the ultrawide fix going and I can't get it to launch in fullscreen anymore. It only fires up in windowed and a little offset. Anyone know any fixes for this
mine does not launch at all anymore after copying in the Ultrawide FOLON Compatibility fix files. it was fine before i did that (all based on clean install/downgrade/upgrade to london)
In 5120x1440 the gamemenue is not in the right size, after ultrawide mod. For example, at the beginning at the game, I can not give an name to my character, because its outside the screen.
@@monsieurtobien467 nope, same issue here. before the last update on Fo4 I was never able to run it properly on 5210x either. Tried various fixes, ini tweaks, mods and 'flawless widescreen' app. I think I will wait playing FO4 London until it's compatible with the latest updated version of FO4.
I'd like to give 2 points of feedback on your videos. You go pretty swiftly through some of the most critical parts of your demonstrations so I end up having to replay the same 10 seconds a half dozen times. It might be useful for you to slow down. Additionally, your screen resolution makes it difficult to read the file names especially considering the speed at which you demonstrate file movements.
I followed both guides exactly but it tells me on launch that I'm using a version of Fallout that is incompatible with this version of F4SE. When I do manage to get in it starts with the OG character creator screen despite the fallout london menus
I don't understand why it's recommended to install F4SE after installing Fallout London. FO comes with its own F4SE, and if you install the one pointed to by the recommnded mods URL it breaks Fallout London: if you start the game after installing this, it complains the FO4 is too old and not compatible with this version of F4SE.
A point: F4SE's latest version is incompatible as at time of writing, I had to roll back to 0.6something for the London launcher to stop complaining and quitting out.
@@bend7726 5800x3d/RTX 4080. I run the steam version (1.10.163) of FO4 and according to Steam I've played the game for over 7,500 hours ...and that's with 350 mods active. I know how good FO4 can look and run with the right mods and when it's set up properly. I wanted to protect my Steam version of the game, so for London I purchased FO4 from GOG and let London do it's own installation. Something went massively wrong with that installation. FO4 + London (with no mods) was getting fps stutters down to 3fps every few seconds. 3 fps! It was completely unplayable. I tried for two days to fix the damned thing and finally had to abandon the GOG version of FO4 altogether. I then installed London into to my Steam game, not how the developers wanted, but as a mod with MO2 and things went very differently. I started the game with minimal mods, but by the time I'd finished I was running over 300 mods and it was running really well and looking very great. Even on ultra settings fps is well over 100 and rarely drops below 80. The 'high fps fix' mod works on the Steam game and wouldn't work on the GOG game as well as Shadow Boost and a host of other pretty essential mods that just refused to install properly on the GOG version. I don't know what's going on with the GOG version. Given some time I may look deeper into it and see if I can figure it out.
Ive got a small list of mods for fallout london that ive downloaded but no matter what i do i cant get the plugins to work in game even though all of them are enabled in the plugin tab on vortex, pls help me.
@TroubleChute i noticed in your last video you did show download and install of the correct F4SE version and in this video you have it in your Fallout 4 folder, mines not working and i think its the F4SE
im so confused i followed the steps for widescreen but i dont have the INI prefs file and if i change the base fallout file it wont open the game cuz it crashes
@@PseudoWeasel Did you set it up with MO2? That's what I did and I also have the infinite loading screen on a new game. I didn't have that issue when installing without MO2 and directly to the fallout dir but I had insane loading times.
It crashes if I set it to my monitor resolution {4K at 3480x2160}. They suggest to keep it at 1920x1080 but my workspace is all set to 3480x2160 and that causes non only a crash, with the widescreen fix, but also the very annoying flickering of the monitor switching resolution several times with windows popping on top in fullscreen. I have fallout 4 installed twice now. One is thru Steam from a while back and i have vortex linked. I also just got the GOG Fallout 4 GOTY thru GOG i got a couple days ago and thats installed on a separate drive/location with the Fallout London mod. Is there any way to link vortex to that instance of Fallout 4?
is it possible to have 2 version of FO4 on vortex?. so I have both FO4 and FL and installed separate from each other but I want both to have vortex mod them both
So got all these installed and ended up reverting back to base game the mods imo made absolutely 0 noticeable difference to anything but heavily tank my fps and overall smoothness so uninstall edge reverted back to standard and just use the f4se launcher method to get round crashes and that's all these mods etc really are not needed
I used the optional mod to fix widescreen, but i still have an issue : it seems that all elements of the hud are zoomed, even the pipboy. like it's scaled from 1 to 1.2.
I was able to install it, but it doesn't work - everything is just stretched to the sides, and the top and bottom are cut off. Is anyone else having any luck with this? I'm running a 5120x1440 display.
Or maybe it's not installed correctly? I copied the Data folder to the game folder, and the files from the mod are now in the Data folder in the game folder. That's it, right? I'm new to using mods.
WHY DO I ALWAYS FORGET ITS THE FOLDER IN DOCUMENTS!?!?! WHY BETHESDA WHY?!?!? I'm just trying to mod in ultrawide support because you couldn't be bothered to for 8 years
Correct F4SE comes with The game and you need to downgrade The Steam version with their Tool or doing it manually. If you own the game on GOG there is no need to downgrade.
I'm on GOG trying to install this and I can't figure out why I load in and all I get is default fallout 4 music instead of the revamped music for the mod I've tried uninstalling the mod and game multiple times and I can't figure it out
I had this problem, I ended up going to the Fallout 4 folder in My Games (via your Documents) and renaming it to something else (I still had old config files and saves etc), then reinstalling everything from scratch so there was absolutely nothing anywhere from previous install. If you didn't already try that might be worth a go. I'm using the GOG one now too, but I did have a Steam install all set up with mods before London came out.
