Thanks for the detailed explanation of the steps and their functions. After I learnt how to dynamically read the files using File.Contents my PQ steps are clean without any dependency to sample queries. ❤ the way simple M codes help the data cleansing that too before loading the data
what if ane of the rows of data you want to retrieve consist null? This list.contains formula will remove the whole row of that data. Maybe adding list.transform with list.removenulls and then checking if list.count
Hi, I started to use power query, and I have some issue, and didn’t find any solution. I have 2 files with lots of tabs that I want to combine to one file using “import files from folder”. The tabs I want to combine have the same name. The problem is that in some files I have more columns than other, and the order is different. For example, in some files column D is the project column, and in some files column D is the task column and column E is the project. When I combines the files, I get the project and the task in the same column. I there a way PQ can combine all columns by their names/headers and if there are additional columns just add them separately only for the files they appear in?

@@GoodlyChandeep what i mean is that i have excelfile2022 that has sheets_data1,data2,data3,data4,data5 and another excelfile2023 sheets_data1,data2,data3,data4,data5, and another excelfile2024 sheets_data1,data2,data3,data4,data5 these sheets are related i.e. data1 has 2023 data, data1 has 2024 data and so on i wish to use the above code to combine them together in just few steps
Thank you buddy for the share. However, let' just say there's always a sacrifice one has to make or be aware of. In this case, being the owner of the data, I should know at least2 or 3 headers that I can anticipate and check for a row that contains such. Otherwise, the method you illustrated, in my opinion, is more troublesome because it assumes the data rows have no chance of missing data...
Chandeep we need a video where you explain how to still just one row when there´re many rows with the same information but for example only 1 columns with different dates. Would be like group but with conditions. Thank you for your content
What if we need to merge Sheets with multiple workbooks to multiple workbooks of a master sheet. Like, Workbook 1 of sheet 1,2,3 will be merged with Workbook1 of Master sheet. Similarly other workbook will merge with according workbook of Master sheet. I hv 3 sheets each with around 15 workbook. And requirement is to have a master sheet with 15 workbooks.
Hello sir, i want to create a model in power bi but i have sales data from more than 50 stores and i had to analyze sales report weekly so i want to create a model in power where so that i can load all my reports weekly which have different formats and inconsistent columns in every report and i want few columns from every report in one single sheet and all the data of those columns in new column names but i can't do this manually in every report so i want to create a model where by applying M code and other queries we can create a model and then it can automatically do all the cleaning headers combining into a new cleaned combined table in power bi , is it possible to creatz this type of model kindly guide me in this.
Your page to download the file does not work. I have tred every which way including in both Edge and Chrome and signed in to goodly as a fully paid top tier (bundle of all courses) subscriber.
There's a workaround but you need to know a bit of html. Or for the purpose of the exercise, build your own custom table with few sheets and few rows of random data.

Can we built the query in the same workbook
Hi, I started to use power query, and I have some issue, and didn’t find any solution.

But what if some columns are the same on the same sheets (some columns in some sheets are unique). What is rows in different sheets are different?
Does this work for multiple api calls to a single data flow like a loop

what I currently hate about power query is that it is slow. It's beautiful but its just slow.

What if there is junk column ?
In this case "null" method will not work correctly, need to use method when you look for exact column name like [Date].
But seems if we work with Tables in the column and not the sheets there have not to be junk columns.
