Not really. I took a polygraph when I was trying to join the police department. I did pass the polygraph but failed the oral board interview. The polygraph isnt necessarily easy, the only reason you can pass is because I believe they have a policy that since it isnt 100% accurate therefor it negates a fail if the person taking it sticks to their answer. Other than that, I would say the person giving you a test knows fully that you are lying if the polygraph marks it as so, however because of the policy they are forced to mark it as passing.

we no longer go to corry station, it is all at fort gordon. you are going to spend way over a year just in training due to hold times, and possible security holding. also, you only get a polygraph if your duty station is texas. you can go to germany as a duty station. ait will not "teach" you any of the certs, but you can get them for free thru the commander. to be honest, ait sucks, because its tradoc. the army had a spree of hiring people a couple months ago and we got a bunch of new soldiers.

Hard MOS, no matter if is extremely COLD or HOT, you will work on helicopters most of the time and do some details like cleaning the hanger, tires, the aircraft itself, bathrooms and all of that. Sometimes you won't have weekends off because you have work to do and you will be dealing with chemicals and other type of "ingredients" on daily basis. Most of the time you will be dirty like any other mechanic and I recommend you to wear your ppe(Personal Protective Equipment) if you don't want to get cancer.
@@TS-pq1uu yeah I'm taking it in about 1 to 2 weeks. Reading a book called networking for dummies and I'm really hoping to pass it by learning a bit more before going into it. I know the basics already but I wanna make sure I pass on the first try
The Boi Mk That’s a waste of time! Dedicate that time into getting the asvab scores, the harder of the two. You literally have to not have touched computers ever to not pass.
The Boi Mk I was very nervous about going in for the ICTL and asvab, even though I took the picat a couple of years ago and qualified for everything then. Please use that website and for study on the ICTL, you really only need to know key differences between excel, presentation, and word. You should learn their file formats also, you can’t discuss what’s on the test, but study that! After that, learn ports and what belongs to each port! Then the only thing else you need to know are the types of malware, your OSI model, what types of internet cables their are and what’s the fastest when you compare them all. If you study with these things and with that material I promise you’ll qualify:)

phillyphilhouse79 I’ve been a programmer for a few years now and just because you don’t like video game design doesn’t mean that you wouldn’t enjoy programming other things. Trust me, I hate doing game design, but I have a passion for coding. Idk if that makes any sense.
So not at all trying to sound like an ass, but 17C will definelty deploy and do cool guy shit if they go airborne and get SOF. We use them to exploit Haji phones and stuff when our guys aren't around

@@benjaminrainey6740 most ops aren't really airdopping troops these days though, right? How does being able to jump out of a plane with a parachute help you in combat?
DontHatemusiK I won’t venture what the Army will or won’t do. If you want to support SOF as 17C, then as a veteran of the 82nd Airborne and signal support for 5SFG, it’s more advantageous for units to seek individuals who are already Airborne qualified rather than someone untrained who might not complete Airborne training.

And little security questions here and there. Currently I’m studying a+, net+, security +, coding, and using try hack me to prepare for ait. I ship out in may.
Not sure how many will still need the advice but I just secured 17C after passing the ICTL. This was my second time attempting and just barely passed. I have never been to school or have any prior experience in IT or computer science and still managed to pass. For anyone stressed out about the test it’s mainly basic computer information all around regarding the actual hardware, programs such as word spread sheet and PowerPoint, basic security questions like Trojans worms viruses and how to protect your self on the internet. What a standard Ip address looks like how a network is set up, differences between switches and hubs and storage space on dvd/cds. Those topics are still fresh on my mind.

Could you do a 25Bravo?
Polygraph tests aren't particularly hard to cheat.
15W shipping out Monday
I didn't study for the asvab at all and I got GT:112 and ST:109 with an Aqft of 75.
Sucks for me😣 I'm not retaking the test....
The test isn't difficult if you paid attention in your classes (Middle school and highschool years)
I had a low GPA in highschool due to my lack of motivation to go to school.
I been out of highschool for 4 years so my the little knowledge I had from highschool barely remains in my head.
If I can get a pretty high score winging the test, you can study for a month or two and get a high score I believe.

we no longer go to corry station, it is all at fort gordon. you are going to spend way over a year just in training due to hold times, and possible security holding. also, you only get a polygraph if your duty station is texas. you can go to germany as a duty station. ait will not "teach" you any of the certs, but you can get them for free thru the commander. to be honest, ait sucks, because its tradoc. the army had a spree of hiring people a couple months ago and we got a bunch of new soldiers.

could you do a topic about the AH-64 ATTACK HELICOPTER REPAIRER (15R) please. Thanks
You also have to take the ICTL test to even get considered
The Boi Mk It’s very easy, you can know basic knowledge about networks, computers, and Microsoft applications
@@TS-pq1uu Thanks for the info. I feel better knowing it's not such a big deal. Thanks!

Looks like a great MOS for the future when you get out. However, I don't have the patience for computer coding. I found that out while studying video game design. I actually like going out to the field and doing soldier shit. Sometimes the training is tough, but its rewarding. I HATED garrison and all of the dumb shit that goes with it. Former 11B here. I know there are better and smarter MOS out there, but I'm happy doing grunt shit. Just dont like the road marching to get to the field. If anything, I'd get into UAV mechanic or some intel or CID job. I got out and used the Post 9/11 GI Bill and now I have my bachelors in CJ.
phillyphilhouse79 I’ve been a programmer for a few years now and just because you don’t like video game design doesn’t mean that you wouldn’t enjoy programming other things. Trust me, I hate doing game design, but I have a passion for coding. Idk if that makes any sense.

So, 17c can do option 40?
DontHatemusiK the Ranger option is limited by job. Airborne school is wide open, and typically offered to any interested soldiers during basic combat training. Airborne qualification is a good way to get a SOF support assignment.
I’m going to walk back my previous statement. Option 40 is available for 17C.
