Sir, I was given a job of same material you used. I was given a job to make a 48 x 38 mm job into 45x 38 mm. On first day, we had to use file to remove rust and make it 45 mm. But I cant do it. I rubbed it for 2 hours in workshop. My 90 degree on the edge was also not perfect.Sir scolded me.The next day,we had to cut the given job, I broke the hacksaw once. But I cant cut it straight. After wathcing this video, my confidence is boosted. Thank you sir
Hi siddhant, welcome for your sweet reply. You will definately become a pro with you hardwork and eagerness to improve. Just Try,Try and try. And keep up with the spirit to learn! We are happy we produced a video which helped you brother. Goodluck and tell us how your workshop session went!👍 We are waiting for your reply😉
When using a file or hacksaw never press them on the return stroke you can either skim or lift them up if you insist on doing so you can wear them Down easily and if someone tell you so just say it's my file.btw chisel file hacksaw etc metalworking hand tools are used before the invention of hand tools you can make very precise simple mechanisms with them it takes only patience, eyes and hands coordination but you're only limited to external shape its almost impossible to make a t slot with hand tools
If you are a layman, please choose a yellow saw blade, which is made of spring steel and is not easy to break. If you are already very familiar with sawing, you can choose a blue saw blade, which is made of high-speed steel and has high sawing efficiency.
Hi Abhijith, sorry for putting up a late reply. As per your question to make a dove joint really fast,it really depends on the person who is creating the joint and how well experienced he is. Still i believe the below mentioned points will help you in minimising errors and hence make the process fast. Here is what we can suggest you to make your dove tail joint more efficiently: 1) Cut two pieces at once. When you cut two pieces at the same time, such as two drawer sides, the resulting joints match visually. 2) Use alignment blocks when marking drawer parts. Alignment blocks are little spacers of separate sizes which help in creating very good fits. 3)Adjust the fit with graphite marks. This prevents dovetails from loose fit.To get the right engage, mark the bottoms of the tails with a pencil. Then put the work-pieces together and assemble the joint as far as it will go,pound it firmly with your fist, and then take it apart. The graphite will rub off on the tight spots on the pins, indicating exactly where you still need to remove some material. 4)Keep your Chisels sharp. Trust me,it will save you time and would award you with a firm and perfect fit in the end.If you don't find a sharp chisel, don't do the job.Seriously. Thankyou:)
