@9:55 I feel you regarding the mix. It's like the drums and guitar are competing against one another to drown out the vocals, with varying degrees of success throughout the song. It opens up and balances out better during the chorus, but goes right back into 'competition mode' afterwards.
Thank you, always happy when I'm not alone with my opinion. :D Yea exactly and I think it's a bit sad if blastbeats are winning the competition against melodies. :/
I strongly suggest reacting to the full trilogy MV (there are uploads with lyrics at the bottom so you can not only take in the storyline MV but understand the beauty in the words) It’s a heart moving tragedy of a lyrical and instrumental masterpiece. I got to see WhiteChapel for the 8th time and Lorna Shore’s full album set in Omaha, NE on my 31st birthday back in October. Best birthday present to myself 🤘🏻
Everyone in the band is a fantastic musician! The Pain Remains Trilogy is great, but one of my favorite songs of theirs is Of the Abyss and Will has a one-take video of that one on his channel that I have probably listened to more than the studio recording. His vocals are what drew me to the band, but the symphonic and melodic stuff mixed with the rest is why I have kept listening to them.
You can absolutely see that. I haven't seen a vocal one take before, so I'll probably go for that next. :) Thanks a lot. Also that's the thing, his vocals are very special, so that draws you in, but without the base of a good band, that's not something that makes you come back. :)
Welcome to the rabbit hole my brother. I'm sure a lot of people already suggested it but you really should react to the Pain remains trilogy, especially with lyrics and the original music video.
For me the song is a wonderful mix of beautiful melody and absolutely brutal deathcore. For me, both parts simply belong together in the song, there is nothing I like better than the other. Your collection in the background looks nice. The highlight for me are my favorite games from the Playstation 1.
It really is a crazy mix of genres, like nothing I've ever seen until this point. :) Oh, I'm always glad when someone notices, I bought the PS1 Disc versions, 1-2 years ago, because some games you just want physical copies of. :) Which one is your favorite then? :)
That guitar solo is iconic. I love BM and seeing it in other genres makes me happy. 😊. I play this in the car all the time and my bf (not into BM or deathcore) is always like "here we go agan, she's about to look crazy jamming to it"😂😂😂
What do I like? There's a lot, different parts, different vocal styles, wall of sound effect... yet I like everything. Just everything. It goes together perfectly. I heard this type of music in my dreams for years and years and there it was - suddenly someone made it.
Looking forward for more, they're super interesting. I'm so happy they did a re-print of it, was looking so long for a copy, that's affordable. :D Have you played the remake?
@@kaNjiXIIIi have played the remake! i got the platinum trophy on playstation for getting 100%. sh2 is a huge part of my life and the remake did not disappoint.
This might help you with blast beats, but I've found it's better to think of them more like an ambiance layer rather than a rhythm layer. Extreme metal does a lot of trading where the main rhythms are coming from, mainly between the drums and the vocals. Of The Abyss is probably their single best song with Will Ramos excluding the Pain Remains Trilogy.
@@kaNjiXIII The most fun part for me when learning to become one with the blast beat, was realizing that properly executed blast beats are actually kind of melodic. Lorna's drummer has some drum play-throughs from stuff off their latest album, and Cursed to Die is a perfect example in using variations of blast beats to create a "melodic" structure. Might be something fun to check out after you're a little further in the Lorna Shore rabbit hole. Side note, the dude looks inhuman on the drums. He looks like he could fall asleep while doing this. Second side note, Lorna Shore does have some awesome song titles. Welcome Back O' Sleeping Dreamer and Sun//Eater being my favorites.
well, you survived their badest track (since Will Ramos entered 2021) i requested Lorna Shore ;) this is really their badest track, cause all that was released later had more symphonic music in it Symphonical blackened DeathCore is what they play (and here is the Nightwish-link ;) ) i love Nightwish as my favorite band all time, but Lorna Shore is definitive on the second place. they released in order since 2021 -to the hellfire - done -...and i return to nothingness (they got me with this one) - Sun//Eater (they really got me going MOOOOH with this) - Into the earth - cursed to die - Pain Remains Trilogy ( this is the real heavy shit they´ve done so far ) * this is the thing that had the most sadly reactions back in the days when all reactors did it, and i think it is my most loved "song" - specially the 2nd part - Off the abyss - welcome back, o´sleeping dreamer there are also severeal ONE-TAKE playthrough videos which are great too have fun !
@@helli0n824 Oh that’s good, like I said, I liked a lot of it. ☺️ I‘ll try to remember next time and thank you for the list, perfect way to start. I also didn’t know that they had a singer before Will. 😮
I think the thing that annoys me is, that it's so monotone. haha, but that song has so much to balance that out for me and there's still many more songs to discover. :D
Thanks for mentioning it. Yes of course, I bought 8 & 9 at a con a few years back, because I never had them and some games you just want as physical copies. And 10 is the same one I got at my 12th birthday. :) It's one of my top 5 games of all time.
@ that’s awesome! A few years ago I bought an original copy of 7, and I as well still have my original copy of 10, along with my Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2 games.
Yes they are considered blackened Deathcore so bm is in there. I recommend Soulless Existence if you like Bm and ofc the pain remains trilogy. Everybody does the videos though but I recommend the band livesession. It's much better audio wise in my not so humble opinion. Welcome back o sleeping dreamer is also a must. Album opener of their aoty from 22

I don't know you, but I love this drummer 🤣🤣
Austin is so amazing.
And Will cast out a bunch of demons 🤣
He's a freaking machine... xD
Demons are leaving the light on in the night, because they're afraid of Will...
Everybody should love this drummer
Watching them do this in person is amazing.
I probably gonna be there when they visit my city next time :D
lol 😂 8:01

Will: FAAAASTEEERR!
These basterds... xD

Lorna Shore is in a genre called blackened deathcore which mixes deathcore with black metal elements.
