I live in Montana near some walleye, but grew up chasing crappie far enough south to not have many walleye. There's nothing like watching a slip cork dunk, and it doesn't matter what you're chasing. Now I just need to get in a little better quality fish- only one over 16" this year.
I use a very similar method with dragging the hook on the bottom with the bobber laying sideways, but I don't use the bobber and I just watch my line for bites. Works for me, but not everyone. Thanks for sharing this method with all of us. I think you'll be to 100,00 subs in no time!
I can not believe you are only at 49k . You have the content, quality, knowledge and entertainment factor to compete with any RUclips channel. Your looking forward to 50k but you should be at 500k. Don't let off the gas , your videos are all amazing.
We have to sqweeze tail in Ont. To get proper size for slot and wen the premier said lockdown the walleyes listened and shut right down social distancing fish haa
Yes they do all count no matter the size. Went out fishing yestarday for rainbows (with a bobber and some dough), only caught glorified sardines but was fun reguardless!
Cheers from Eastern Ontario. Still rigging my 2020 Springbok with the power drive 55 I pilot and Garmin 95 usv. Was fishing blind last year since I got the boat late in the season. Can't wait to hit the Ottawa River.
You are spoiled. But you deserve it. You’ve spent a lifetime dedicated to the sport. Thank you for sharing your passion. It is so nice to see you get excited even after all the bobber downs you must of had.
VERY spoiled! BUT!!! I promise you that I have worked countless hours to be able to do what I am doing, and saving money, camera gear etc... I still use some of my original go-pros. I do all my own editing, organizing, cleaning etc. I really appreciate you watching the videos!!
@@ClaytonSchickOutdoors I am a dedicated fan Clayton. Cant say that I have been a dedicated fan to anyone or anything in my life. But watching you fish in the past year has made each day bearable. Thank you for all you do. 😊
I Love slip bobbin. You would not believe the action at 4:00am yes 4:00am. There was no time for slip bobber, jig and a leach 3 dozen in an hour to be exact.
So I was out yesterday and I have a small inflatable pontoon boat made by out cast. I was cruising the shallows sight fishing for walleye in 2ft of water. Water temp was 51f. I think being able to be up higher like in your boat would work great to sight fish for walleye. Just my observation from my trip out yesterday.
It'd be cool if you could put a GoPro or 360 camera on some sort of a floating plate closer to your float so we could see it go under. Drones would work, but kind of hard to operate by yourself when fishing solo
Clayton what's that called that mount you have for your 360 on your boat.....??? The clamp that goes on where the rod holders go!! You talked about it quickly at the beginning of the show.
Great vid Clayton! You make it look easy. I’ve got a box full of slip boobers but rarely use them....and really don’t know why. You have inspired me so I’ll give it a go again 😃Keep up the good work👍👍
@@TheAwakeningAngler that would be hard to realise, only 1-2 shops over in the north of the netherlands sell them and a guy in his late 70's makes them by hand... i know this guy and have send some out but its like 10 dollar per float... i wouldve sent clayton some for free since i dont like seeing him using cheap chinese bobbers like that, i mean u have to stare at those things for hours... at that point u want something more then adequate but something elegant and fit for the job.. and longlasting.. but i could give u a hookup, look up hengelsportcentrumarnold.nl and give him a ask, he will send them abroad probably (u want 4/5gram zander floats with a single float tip, not a split one). id get 5 gram ones if ur fishing in current.. u then put 4 gram olivette on the main line and 1 gram split on ur leader like 4-5 inch from the hook... u could also tel him that Lars told u this and he will understand.
@@larsvegas1505 and btw, you are awesome and I agree with your point of view completely. I am going to go find them this evening and get one. I'll be the only one to ever fish it and I'll have it the rest if my life. Thank you so much
Hey Clayton another great video! I'm trying to get confidence in the slip bobber game but I find my self doubting if I have my depth set right any advice where to start? Say you are letting it drift with the wind depth goes from 10-15 ft. Thanks
Have a video coming out about this soon. But set your depth deeper and than keep moving your knot until the bobber finally stands up and you will know you are just off the bottom :)
I haven't even wet a line since ice fishing LOL finally got the "go ahead" for working up north at the lodge (june 5th) LETS GO!!!!.... like seriously... Lets actually go. Lets get on that plane and go away from planet covid here and catch some big pike and lakers!!!!

In Alberta not allowed to use live minnows . I'm lucky to find frozen minnows this year . I love slipbober and jig fishing for walleye .
@@oldpolak5203 Oh really that's wild I live in Nebraska USA but a dead minnow works better than a live one sometimes
My favourite way to fish hands down. So enjoyable.
