- The airport is where much of it all connects nowadays and I am most lucky to be able to call one of this world's busiest airports my home and to have so many wonderful people with which to share its magic. To observe my airport, its airlines and its people is like looking at a reflection of a large part of our world with its designs, culture patterns, backgrounds and perspectives of thought, stories and themes all taxiing past me. No matter whether it shines, glows, bores or stinks, it is a real airport that lives and breathes. Welcome to my airport, a lifeline for the Windy City's millions.
Welcome to Chicago O'Hare International Airport.

Amazing compilation yet again!! Plenty of epic catches to keep me entertained!!! awesome quality as always!! You know i liked!!! that eva air cargo is amazing!!
spectacular video jay. as o' hare was one of my first spotting airports in 1959, you have carried on one of my favorite things to do. as I can not get there anymore, you have carried on my memories of one of the best airports in the world. thank you jay for all your hard work
Thanks, Evan! i love hearing that you enjoy these videos and I try my best to bring you the best.
excellent, Jay, another classic...! and just a month till I touch down in ORD again. So looking forward to the approach to Chicago over the lake..! :-)
Truly spectacular work as always, Jay, what more can I say? I did actually watch all 56 minutes of spotting awesomeness, and I'm just left in awe as to what one guy with a camcorder and an incredibly steady hand can accomplish :) Those 7000+ people have all subbed to this channel with good reason. How could they no? You're one of the most skilled spotters in the history of plane spotting, and it's a pleasure to have you as part of the RUclips spotter community :) Here's to 10K next, which I'm sure you'll hit by July, at least :D
lol! wow! all 56 minutes? Haha. I don't really expect people to watch all of that unless they really want to but, hey! i gotta say thanks to you as i know you are very committed. THNX for always watching and enjoying.
I absolutely SHARE your pride in our hometown airport. Although it's no longer the world's BUSIEST, it certainly is one of the world's BEST airports !
Had to hit the LIKE button twice for how you captured ORD in words and video!! Another awesome video!
Thanks, man! Here's 2 thnks THNX back ;)

That was another killer compilation, great to see the regionals mixed in with the heavies! We're all glad to have you in Chicago bringing the world of RUclips the best O'Hare has to offer!
Thanks, Mr. HD!
love mixing those regionals in when i can...
Jay's Aviation & Plane Spotting your Caribbean friend second's that comment 100 percent :) !!!!!
Took a few days to watch, but it was well worth it! Also loved the random shots of the fire dept apparatus.
well! thanks for your commitment. And yeah, I will hope to sneak lots more shots of cool stuff into my vids in future.
Nice Planes, nice Airport and a nice Video. :)
thnx for the nice comment ;) :D :)
Another superb vid, Jay. The description of O'Hare that you wrote is beautiful, perfectly fitting the aura of any large city airport as it provides an accurate representation of its people, diversity, and culture. You also see so many amazing types of jets and liveries at O'Hare, JFK, LAX, DFW, and etc., compared to the relatively small airport, (just two terminals) near where I live - Raleigh-Durham Intl. 20 years ago I chose, (based on extra incentives provided for by American Airlines) to spend an additional 24 hours for free in a hotel adjacent to Frankfurt Main Intl in Germany following a 2 week vacation, volunteering to give up my seat as the original flight was overbooked. It was a treat back then walking through the airport as security, (although still very much present) was not like it is now post 9-11. The Lufthansa 747 jumbo jet you filmed landing at O'Hare early in the vid reminded me of the many, MANY aircraft from that airline that I saw parked in the many gates during my extra stay. In case people are unaware of the fact that other than London's Heathrow Intl, Frankfurt Main is the busiest airport in Europe. As a recent new subscriber to your channel, I feel that I owe you many thanks for your providing such spectacular vids for jet lovers to simply sit back, watch and enjoy!!
such great memories! doing this is what i love and I hope to visit many more airports as i continue to spread the magic of aviation everywhere i go :)
Nice one Jay! Awesome job.
Thanks, R V N! !
Amazing video mate! Awesome work,Liked a lot! :D Well done! ;)
Thanks, Mr. YQB!
Ahaha ;)
Thanks for posting!
Thanks for watching!
Love the pink ribbon Eagle! It visits SGF frequently:)
Thanx! i tried very hard to get those when I could. Sometimes difficult because they are hard to identify on final.
Yeah I wish I had that problem;)
wonderful work
Andrew Begaj Thanks for watching!
@@OHAREAVIATION yes more
Awesome video Jay you have helped me a ton on getting my channel off the ground and i really want to thank you for that and i cant wait to meet up with you again
Thanks for stopping by, Tyler! I saw you called me tonite but I was busy in class. Sorry about that...
That's okay Jay i understand i will try calling you tomorrow okay
Absolutely stunning! :D
Thanks, man! Always love seeing your name in the comments here.
This is just pure awesomeness!! Everything from the little RJs to the jumbo jets!! Plus your description is awesome too. Airports, especially international ones, are such an interesting place and I'm glad I have Logan Airport with some great spotters to enjoy the love flight!! :-)
Came to your old vids to find some tulips. Can’t believe they still had it on the 747!
yup! glad I got what I did for historic value... wish I had started filming much earlier than I did. Thanks 4 watching!
This is such an incredibly strange pastime from an outsiders perspective - though even I have to admit it's fascinating to see those monstrosities glide through the air and gently touch down...
Welcome to RUclips where everything that can possibly be filmed will be. Even if it is a tad ridiculous. :D
I love airplanes and like to be able to watch them when I'm not at the airport. That's about all you need to make a crazy channel like this one ;)
Awesome work Jay! Chicago O'Hare sure is busy and it must be a privilege to live there. I'm surprised that the ANA landings were not as smooth as usual as usually the Japanese pilots know how to land the planes really well.
thanks, RVA9495. I am indeed very lucky to live here. ANA and JAL always seems to have some of the very best pilots. ...but I'll let them have a day off ;)
Thank you for the videos they are great because O'hare is the best!!
wonderful video =)
Thanks, man!
Absolutely amazing shots man!! all the heavies, regionals, airlines from all over the world, its all incredible:) Liked!

Top video! Subscribed for more!
thanks! I appreciate it.
Another amazing compilation man! Loved all the activity in this one and your two spotting places, one overhead, and one landing area. Well done as usual! Always fun to see ORD entertainment from one of the best spotters out there! Liked it!! :)
Ross, I've heard on Airlineroute.net that Cathay Pacific will launch its 5 Star class-act 777 flights to Zurich from February 2015 representing their European Expansion progress against rivals such as ANA and JAL. I think Kiev, Stockholm, Copenhagen, Oslo, Madrid, Barcelona and Vienna will be targets on CX's Radar. If Cathay Pacific make inroads in South America, they'll do so via LAX rather than Johannesburg to São Paulo and Santiago de Chile. Malaysian Airlines once flew their 747s to Buenos Aires via Johannesburg and Cape Town but stopped those services due to mounting financial losses and weak demand on the route. Los Angeles-São Paulo is getting more pax demand given Korean Air's 5 weekly services, American Airlines Daily flights and potential flights in future by Japan Airlines and Philippine Airlines so Cathay Pacific could go to Brazil via LAX with their 777s.
I meant to say is Cathay Pacific's Zurich flights start in Late-March 2015.
Syed Hoque
Thanks for the info, Syed!
Syed Hoque Thanks for the info!
Do you think Air Canada are going to fly their 787s to LAX and SFO? After all there's a lot of traffic linking Toronto with California's 2 largest cities. I know as well as you that Air Canada Rouge has taken over the YYZ-LAX/SFO flights.
Cool!!
For only being 7 years old, Aer Lingus EI-DUZ sure could use a new paint job! (27:26 into the video). Great vid.
Much agreed. until then, Sham-ROCK!!
This... Was... Spectacular... :)
Jay, I have a quiz for you:
1) Name all the airlines that fly the Airbus A380 to JFK.
2) Name all the airlines that fly the B787-8 Dreamliner to JFK.
Amazing video by the way. Thank you so much!!!
I wish we had excellent videos of all of them too....... someday i'll have to planespot there. ;)
First,, you didn't answer my questions.
Second, spotting at Kennedy is very difficult. Port Authority is really tough. There are a few spots i can share with you. I'd have to tell you in private though for the security of the spots.
American Airlines B777-300ER
Ok, nice. I know JFK somewhat already but i'm sure we can talk. ;)
- 787
AMX
LOT
JAL
LAN
NAX
- A380
SIA
AFR
UAE
KAL
I think DLH has been there before too.
I probably left somebody out.... let me know ( i know you will) :D JFK is a SUPER airport and always will be my favorite besides LAX. I think I like ORD's variety better though. I do listen to JFK ATC almost all the time.
All correct!! Might I add though, Kennedy occasionally gets Lufthansa's A380. You seem like a semi-pro JFK spotter already.
American Airlines B777-300ER
lol! I do like the airport... A LOT!
Top vídeo 👏👏👏👏👏
Thanks 4 watch!ng
Nice video!!
What a show !!!!!. Always pleasure to watch your videos!!!. Did that One Wolrd American 767 had only one thrust reverser on???. All the best and Greetings from LHR!
seems like it! there's no requirement as far as I know to use both at once and one will do the trick. :) thanks and greetings from Chi-Town!
Interesting fact:). All the best!!
I wish i had this view at my local international airport, all i have is a side view of the touch down area. lol
MazdaBass971 lol... well, I wish we could still go here. This location was private property and we were there with permission. The owners decided to revoke permission once some folks who weren't part of our spotting group vandalized and littered excessively. Thanks 4 watching anyway!
O'HareAviation Plane Spotting HD
wow! That's why we can't have nice things now n days. :/
MazdaBass971
unfortunately, yes. But there are still other good spots.
United is to O'Hare as Delta is to Hartsfield. I go by the Atlanta airport all the time and if there's not a Delta plane in sight, you should probably call 9-1-1.
lol! United is pretty big here in Chicago for sure but American has a significant presence as well. I once counted 6 Delta Air Lines and Connection planes on the ground at once here at O'Hare even so. We have a good variety and see everything DAL through the year except the 764, 77L and 744.
Thanks for stopping by!
Surprised how many United planes were still in the old colors.
still quite a few when I filmed this. Thanks for watching! :)
Another great vid Jay! As our man at O'Hare, would you happen to know whether A380's may be coming to O'Hare at some point?......assuming they can find some room for them that is! Thanks.
that is the assumption indeed. There are rumors that once the modify a gate or two BAW or DLH will start A380 service but nothing is known for sure. It might be a long time until we know and then longer until they actually show up. if they do show up though, I will do MY BEST to be there! I've seen A380s at LAX and flying overhead but the last time I saw one at ORD was back in 2007.
I'm pretty sure he doesn't know the schedule, he probably just goes to the airport and films its beauty
Boeing 747-400 is my favourite jumbo jet
Great spot! Sorry if you've already answered this question, but where did you film this from?
no prob. this location is generally off-limits to the local public and I spot there with permission from the owners as a member of the ORD Airport Watch.
ohh ok. Thanks!
Greetings from Greece! (question, how you keep the camera so steady?)
Lots of practice, my friend. Sometime I will have to make a video about it.

Scary Stewardess Landing!
Which runways do most aircraft get assigned to? I take it that the 10/28 runway pair tends to be the set of runways that most of the large aircraft end up on, with 10C/28C being used for landings and 10L/28R being used for takeoffs.
You are correct. Every now and then though random heavy aircraft (especially United and American) get assigned to 27L. We have lots of regional jets and mainliners and those get 27L and 27R most of the time. They will also get 28C when heavy aircrafft aren't landing and triple parallel arrivals are commonplace here. I will have to try to film those more in future. All cargo aircraft almost always get 28C.
O'Hare can be different at times though. ORD ATC knows the rules and knows them well and they push for efficiency in every way. We have all kinds of things happen here you'd probably never see at another airport. How about a cargo 747 taking off from a 7967 ft runway! This is 9R in case you were wondering. ruclips.net/video/x0jjG2J_tLA/видео.html
I saw a United land on the same runaway at 28:19
COOL! thanks for watching and I subscribed.
хочу в Чикаго!

мы приветствуем вас, когда вы пришли сюда !
what do you use for recording?
Sony HX200V and no tripod.
Jay's Aviation & Plane Spotting thank you . I also started spotting but at montreal yul. Take a look. I enjoy alot your vids.
HD-COCKPIT SCENES
I certainly will :)
Love to see the US heavies
we don't see them at YYZ mostly RJs
Biggest American plane I see there is a Delta 757 and it's always the Blue jays going on the road or coming back.
yeah, was talking with some other YYZ spotters about how we should trade a few ACA heavies for some US heavies for a day or two. I've never seen anything ACA bigger than an A320 at ORD.
May I know what camera are you using? Thank you
certainly! it's a Sony HX200v. pretty cheap and of course, mine's kinda on the old and beat-up side.
1:144 RIP ;(
What's ur fav plane mine is the 777-300er
Motorsports fortune I like the 777-300ER as well. My other favorites would be the 777-200LR and 737-700/800/900. I also like the ERJ-190 and the CRJ-700.
Thanks for replying
Can I ask where you do your spotting at and what runway these planes are landing on?
Thanks,Nick
This location is private property and required permission to access. I was part of an invited group. Too many folks saw mine and my friends videos and pictures and decided to help themselves without asking. Eventually the owners decided to close down the opportunity completely as they were tired of the trespassing. Runway is 28C
Oh, thanks sad to hear.
i en chicago ohare aeropeurto
Where do you plane spot from?
wherever I can get a decent shot :) This location was private property and I was there with permission.
How can u tell between a 747-8 and a 747-400.
Look at the wingtips. If it has winglets it's a 744 if it has raked or swept-back wingtips it's an -8.
When did Virgin Atlantic stop flying to Chicago?
It's been a change this year since last year I think.
What runway did the Aeromexico land on
what time stamp?
What is up with the fire trucks? Lets see planes!
maybe there's more to an airport than just airplanes. It's my channel I'll do what I want and you can watch if you're interested. Maybe I'll do a whole video consisting of nothing but airport ground vehicles sometime.
