    I'm born and raise in Miami and it sucks that Stanton is not here, but he's happy with a new team and that's important. Stanton is a humble man and I wish him nothing but the best.

      Brandon S 🙏🙏 he deserves to be on a contender after dealing with Marlins ownership his whole cateer

    • @BSmokeyGaming
      @BSmokeyGaming 6 лет назад +1

      Chickenz He does deserves that, but I feel like if Jorge Mas bought the Marlins instead of Jeter, the Marlins would've challenge the Nationals and a healthy Mets team for the NL East and also for the NL pennant because Mas have the money to keep Stanton and try to get pitchers in free agency. The Marlins weakness was pitching and if Mas own the team, he would've fix the problems, instead Jeter is running the team and it's chaos already.

      Cristo- bal This Yankees team is certainly not bought. This team was suppose to be sub par decent last year with young players they developed and they were a win away from going to the World Series. Even tho the Yankees have that buying players reputation, but last year and this year wasn't the case, plus they traded for Stanton.

      So Stanton is the key to another title?! 😂 Astros are still the team to beat, and produce the better lineup & pitching will be on point. Yankees don't wanna see that boy McCullers no more! 😂

    As a Marlins fan, it was obvious that Jose dying changed everything. The mindset of the team deflated entirely. Jose represented the future of the team. He was somebody that you could build a team around: the foundation of a great pitching staff. There was always the feeling here (and has been the feeling for years now) that the Marlins just need a solid pitching staff to go to the next level. That was what Jose represented: the foundation. Once he died, the guys on the team just didn't have the confidence in the organization anymore; they didn't see the finish line. Granted, like the interviewer said, it was a tragedy and that always affects people's mindsets. The organization, however, was putting everything on Jose and once he was gone, the bottom fell out. The players, of course, knew that as well. Immediately you could see that the players lost any optimism for the club. Suddenly, their hope for a brighter future turned into a very palpable sense of self-awareness. We're no longer a club that hasn't been to the playoffs in over a decade but with a future; we're just a team that hasn't been to the playoffs in over a decade and with no sense of direction. Once that realization seeped into their minds, the game was over. The best thing to do, regrettably in the case of Stanton and Ozuna, was to get new owners and start from scratch. That just leaves us Marlins fans with a sense of "what if?" that just adds to the tragedy of the death of Jose Fernandez.
    Enjoy Giancarlo Stanton, New York. He brought us great joy down here.
    RIP Jose Fernandez.

      DoesNotExist305 I’m a Marlins fan as well and I agree 100% with this. If Jose never died who knows where this team would be. I’m so glad Stanton has the ability to be on a team that can give him success. Same with Yelich and Ozuna. And quite frankly, I am very much looking forward to the future of the Marlins. I believe in Jeter.

      Torres
      Maybe swap Bird and Stanton... They're going to try to go lefty righty lefty righty as much as they can. Also, expect Andujar to spend most of the year working on his fielding in AAA now that we got Drury. I wouldn't be surprised if we used him as trade bait sometime during the year for another pitcher. Either way, we're going to be amazing.

      Bueller Brown From what you just said, you're trying to say Dwayne Wade is better than Lebron and Kobe is better than Shaq? Lmaoooo😂😂😂 You clearly don't know basketball. And obviously the best between the two is Stanton. Aaron Judge is only in his second year. We don't know if last year was a fluke or not due to his huge slump towards the end of the season. I hope the best for him this year but we'll just how good he is this year and hopefully he tops his rookie season.

    • @TRivera13
      @TRivera13 6 лет назад

      Danny Bhoy If the projected order is true with Stanton, Didi & Sanchez hitting behind him, he should see a lot more hittable pitches. Also keep in mind he was 2nd in Walks last year (1st in AL), so he has the patience to wait out pitchers and get on base to set up the rest of the order.

    • @Psandoval85
      @Psandoval85 6 лет назад +1

      He hit over .280 without Stanton in the lineup, and without Bird for the majority of the year. You're crazy if you think he's going to dip below that now with this crazy lineup and all of the protection he's surrounded by.

    • @danmcgill8485
      @danmcgill8485 6 лет назад

      Don't be so sure. It would be a good year for him if he stayed in the .275-.280 range, which I don't think he'll be near, unfortunately.

    • @Psandoval85
      @Psandoval85 6 лет назад

      It's ok, you're entitled to your opinion. That's why they play the games. Either way, don't expect too much of a drop off out of him surrounded by an even better lineup. That's how baseball works, protection goes a long way, ask the Red Sox who looked very weak last year without Ortiz. And stars may have a bad year here or there, it happens, Bryce Harper hit .243 in 2016, everyone still on his jock. Manny Machado hit .259 last year, everyone still on his jock too. Judge will still hit his bombs.

    • @danmcgill8485
      @danmcgill8485 6 лет назад

      Good point, I just think people tend to criticize Judge way too much when he has 2+ K's in one game, etc because he's a second year player. It's going to be hard to keep the entire roster healthy. But If so, the starting lineup should look like
      Gardner
      Judge
      Stanton
      Sanchez
      DiDi
      Bird
      Hicks
      Andujar
      Torres

      @mattray9904 6 лет назад

      I'm a Yankee fan too and I'm not at all thrilled with this deal. Judge and Stanton couldn't possibly be more redundant and that many strikeouts may be a problem in the postseason, but Stanton also has an enormous contract that will probably be pretty bad during the latter half of it, especially since last year was the first year since his rookie year that Stanton missed fewer than 12 games. It's normal for him to miss 40 games per season. I just don't even see his acquisition as necessary with how close an inexperienced Yankee team came last season. Pitching is much more important for this team. Maybe I'm wrong and I won't be surprised if they win short term, but then A-Rod won a championship short term too.

  • @mattray9904
    @mattray9904 6 лет назад

    The two are so redundant it's ridiculous. Incredible power, but tons of strikeouts, basically even the same size and they play the same position. Considering how close a young Yankee team was last year without Stanton, even the short term benefit may not be big enough to outweigh the downside of what will probably be a bad contract in the last half of it. Pitching was much more important. Entering 2004, the power trio of A-Rod, Sheffield and Giambi looked more formidable yet didn't win anything together.

      Everybody strikes out a ton in today's game. It doesn't really matter that much anymore, the strikeout has been devalued.

    • @mattray9904
      @mattray9904 6 лет назад

      208 strikeouts is a ton even by today's standards and he struck out even more frequently in the postseason against superior pitching. I don't believe it's a coincidence Houston had both the best strikeout rate and fewest total strikeouts.
