    I'm done with Fitbit, I buy new chargers all the time and it works, then it just stops - I'm REALLY dissatisfied and it's just UGH!

    How is it that all the RUclips reviews ignore the pushed in pin = useless charger issue?

  • @MsCara99
    @MsCara99 2 года назад +31

    It "doesn't happen often." Yeah, that's not true. The charger is a piece of crap. I bought my Sense in December, and have already had to replace the charger six times--so approximately once a month. One pin on the charger drops inside the unit and makes the charger useless. Happens on name brand and not name brand. If anyone has found a solution to this, please share.

      The protruding pins on the charger short out on the metal body of the watch causing the earth pin to act as a fuse.
      Don't plug in the usb end of the charger until after connecting the other end to the watch and unplug the usb before disconnecting the watch.
      Stupid design. But the charging for Fitbits has always been a stupid design. Placing the metal power connectors in direct contact with human skin guarantees a connection problem, gold plated or not.

      Yup. I've just ordered another pair of chargers for my Sense. The chargers that came with BOTH mine and my wife's Sense have failed, and the two replacement chargers have failed. Two more on order.😠

      I’m on my fourth charger at $20 a pop in little more than a year of having a Fitbit sense. Same problem every time - one of the four pins gets depressed and no choice but to buy a new charging cable. Also when charger working , constantly get message that not enough charging power being delivered to device no matter what kind of outlet the charging cable connected to Get the message AND the device vibrates. Bottom line the Fitbit sense charger is very poorly designed - this is a common problem described by MANY Fitbit sense owners in Fitbit forums, Reddit, etc

      I have been having to buy a new charger every , maybe 6 weeks. 1 of the pins recessed into the charger.

    In my case, it also wasn’t charging. Used a wooden toothpick on each of the watch charging inputs and with gentle pressure ran across the perimeter of each of the contacts points. It had just a little gunk that was not visible, probably oils from skin that accumulated, that the toothpick pulled out. This cleared up the charging problem, which was not with the charger/cable but the actual watch charging inputs. I wonder how many times this might have been the case with other users reporting issues with charging.

    Thank you this helped, my Fitbit sense 1 was clogged with rust and other gunk in the 4 charging holes on the bottom of my watch and I used some rubbing alcohol and a q-tip to clean then used a push pin to get in all of the little cracks. I have camp tomorrow and I was panicking that I wouldn’t have a watch to use. Thank you, really helped.

    I'm not quite as excited as you are about a POS that so frequently doesn't work. When is Fitbit going to make a fix that works for this most essential aspect of getting any feature of their product be able to work as well as a Dime-store watch? Like, simply tell time!

  • @deLeonVideoFun

    After depleting my battery this weekend, I have gone two days trying to change my Fitbit Sense, and have seen no display response even after hours on the charger.
    I have three or four different charging cables ... one that I use at home, one in the office, one I use daily for charging while in the shower. None seem to work when left for 3+ hours.
    Also tried cleaning back and re-trying. And trying to get to respond with button pressing/holding. Still no luck.
    Finally, after watching this video for more ideas, and I tried another 10+ second hold on the "not a button" button depression, and the watch came back to life with 98% charge.
    So keep trying that 10+ second reset if your charger isn't showing results and your screen stays blank!

  • @jaimejean9051
    @jaimejean9051 2 года назад +7

    I'm now on my third charger. The pin - usually the one on the top left - keeps getting pushed in and, once it happens, your charger is all but useless. At best it will "slowly charge" your Fitbit device but it will take several hours and may keep disconnecting. I'm now fed up with ordering a new cable regularly and will never buy another Fitbit that uses this type of charger.

      I've had mine fewer than four months, same problem began today. I had an Ionic prior to this one that got recalled. I've had Fitbit for many years but it looks like they've got some QC problems so it may be time to move on...

      @bhubbard491 Год назад +1

      Yup. Exact same thing happened to mine and my wife's chargers. Ordered two replacements and they have now failed the EXACT same way - pin in the upper left gets stuck. Two more chargers are now on order. Thank goodness they're inexpensive.

      @jaimejean5816 Год назад

      @@bhubbard491 A partial solution I've found is storing the charger out of harm's way (a metal Altoids box does the trick) and taking it out only when I'm going to recharge my Fitbit, which of course needs to be done very carefully so the pins don't come off or are pushed in. This has helped my latest charger to survive for an unprecedented 2 months.

    Thank you very helpful! I skipped to the last tip because i have 2 charging cables that I had tried with different working outlets so I already knownit was the charger nor the outlet. The charging contact points on my watch had some soap collected in them andni never thought that could be the ossue, used the back of an earring to scratch gently and dirt came out andncharging worked right away, thanks for the tip!

    I have had 2 chargers that a nub on back of charger gets pushed in. When you feel it you can tell that one of them isn't sticking out. Do you know of a way of fixing this it's getting expensive to replace these. FYI it won't charge when all four of them are not at their original space hope this makes sense. Please help thank you

    • @MsCara99

      I have the same problem. This has happened to me with six chargers in the six months I have owned my Sense. Fitbit is no help. They say that this problem is not something they are aware of despite the fact that their message boards (the ones on their website) are full of comments and questions about this same problem.

    • @gregorybradley9349
      @gregorybradley9349 2 года назад +3

      The problem is that there are 3 power connectors and one earth return, which is the one that blows. The protruding metal pins short out on the metal body of the watch and the single earth pin acts as a fuse.
      Always be sure to never have the usb end plugged in unless the magnetic end is attached to the watch.
      Stupid design.

    I thought all of these solutions were pretty common sense. But I gave my Fitbit a quick clean anyway. And then I attached it to the charger before connecting to the plug (as someone stated in the comments) and it started charging again.

  • @ruebenvangleason2505
    @ruebenvangleason2505 Год назад +2

    Our watch started having charging problems. Eventually not working at all after cleaning. One of the charging pins is stuck down into the base of the charging cable. I disassembled the charging pin base and there is a small circuit board in there. Tried to get the PIN to stick back out of it and it is a absolute poor design. This is why people have to buy new charging cables all the time. The watch works fine but the company should know better than design of charging cable like this

    • @SomeGuy345
      @SomeGuy345 2 года назад +2

      It isn't actually stuck. There are springs that push the pins up and the spring stops working on 1 pin. I ripped apart a charger to see if I could fix it and that didn't work out. I am now testing whether a tiny tiny bit of superglue (applied with a toothpick) will keep the pin up 🤞🏻
