HBP is the leading cause of kidney disease, strokes, and heart attacks. Our lifestyles play a huge role especially in "modern foods" and the accumulation of toxicity in the body. In this video, I'll explain the top 10 foods that could be elevating your blood pressure. I'll also give you some of the lifestyle hacks I used to improve my blood pressure to 117/70.

You know what..... this is sooooo true. I KNOW my high blood pressure was caused by a family member. I tried for years to get her to see how mean , controlling, and abusive she was. At the time of my diagnosis, my personal life and my work environment were absolutely perfect. This family member was the ONLY stressful thing in my life. I had to cut her off after my diagnosis because I felt that she would actually cause my death if I continued to let her raise my blood pressure. Now I'm getting judged by family and church folks because they think that I'm supposed to allow myself to be at risk and gamble with my life just to prove that I "love" my toxic relative. I just thank GOD that I'm strong-willed and am not afraid to tell anyone of any title when they are not making sense!

Just started following you and was recently diagnosed with high blood pressure. It was a wake up call as I’ve been overweight most of my life and my dr started having me take blood pressure pills. As of this month I started the journey of getting more active and changing my diet. Almost 3 weeks in and I have lost 10 pounds so far and tested my blood pressure yesterday and it’s now normal 132/85. I feel better already and am going to keep going.

Also properly dealing with spiritual issues. Anger, resentment, bitterness and unforgiveness are a root cause to high blood pressure. When you are eating healthy, exercising, watching your stress level, eliminate underlying health issues and the readings are still high, then most likely it is a spiritual root cause.

Yes, I’m an RN & I have the 2 lifetime issues- HTN & High Cholesterol- I work in the ER & that job in & of itself stresses you out and is the culprit. Yesterday, I felt great, took my pressure and it was 171/106- I hit the deck! Not me! I’m always eating salad, fruits, drinking water- I know what to do, take my meds religiously- and I’ve been off work for a month now- so, my question is why? I’m doing everything right & I’ve been off work- relaxing- point being- It’s a silent killer & something you must constantly monitor because you just don’t know what can cause your pressure to elevate- I assume something I ate was loaded with sodium because I did eat a few things that’s not my norm- And you just said HOT SAUCE! I ate so much of it, last week putting it all over my steamed fish! There you go- I never thought of that! Thanks!! I’m going to FAST - drink water for 3 days to restart my clock & then eat fruits, salads for the duration/ water & teas only- I know not to eat sugar, flour etc…already…. This will bring it down in addition to exercise and rest. I admire you! I thank you- keep on keeping on🥰❤️

I didn’t want to take meds so I made a deal that I have 3 months to get it down. Doctors told me if I couldn’t that I would not see 50 years old. I was awful person. mpI was screaming at my child and nearly exploded. So, I started doing jumping jacks to my favorite childhood songs, push-ups, and now I’m 57 and eating a bunch of salads, avocados, sauerkraut and salmon and feeling like a million dollars. So i decided to tweak a few things to see how my bp would respond before accepting my doctors recommendation to go into medication.
After 4 week of doing the following i have had an average reading of 118/76 in the last 5days.
    1. 5km walk 5× a week 15km nature walk on saturdays.
    2. 1clove garlic and ginger thumbnail plus 1litre water 1st thing every morning.
    3.Eliminated sugar, alcohol and coffee.
    4.Reduced salt intake.
5.Fast 18hrs, i do one meal a day most days.
    6.Weight training 4x a week.
    7.Whole unprocessed foods and fruits.
    8.Iam 102kgs 5ft so i take 4.5litres of water through my day.

@ericagrace7629 I can tell from comment you are stressed about your blood pressure.
I am suggested that you do breathing exercises 3 to 4 a day.
Eat green vegetables. Don't drink your vegetables. Eat vegetables.
Drink half your body weight of water. Start taking a multi vitamin.
Take B12 supplement, take D3 with k2 supplements, and take a vitamin B complex supplement. Add supplements one at a time to your regiment. So you can see how it's affecting your body. Look at your skin, hair, knuckles, knees, elbows, and feet. Checking for skin softness, color of knees, elbows etc. If your hair is growing, filling in areas, body hair, teeth, gum, whites of your eyes. Make notes to yourself.
Most people are deficient in the supplements mentioned. The other supplements that people are deficient in are potassium, magnesium, calcium, sodium chloride. These last four work together. There is a certain ratio these 4 suppose to have to one another. All of these supplements need to be at a certain level in our bodies to perform correctly and ward off diseases.
Disclaimer...I am not a medical doctor. This is not medical advice.
Please consult with a medical professional before taking supplements or changing your medications.

I try and I say try to follow a plant base diet. When I did I saw improvement. But because of my life style of friends family and the wedding and so forth I always give in to cakes etc. I know for me I am salt sensitive. So I can’t eat out or eat at gatherings because the food is so salty the next day I’m not feeling well. Long story short. I’m back on my plant base eating juicing which I’ve done for years green smoothie etc. Detoxing my body and controlling my stress I’m happy to say my pressure has gone down from 178/90 to 130/78. I’ve seen these numbers I have seen in years. I’m determined to keep educating my self about high blood pressure and heart descease . Today you help me tremendously about the food that causes HBP.

You’re so right healthcare workers are the worst. I started to see consistencies between headaches everyday, flank pain, and blurring vision. I knew from being a RN that is a tell-tell sign that something isn’t normal. You may stay why does it take a degree to know that something is a normal, well it does it but seeing it in my practice just helped me to recognize it sooner. This was yet happening while on controlled medication and not changing my lifestyle. I am not diabetic nor have hyperlipidemia. Those two were ruled out. I measured my blood pressure and at that moment I knew a change needed to be made. It is yet a work in progress because I work at night. I am taking measures to not repeat patterns that have been heritable from my parents, and parents-parents. Living in America doesn’t help the HBP neither. A lot of food items and foods have been banned in other countries. What does that tell you? I strive for longevity. The way to have it is run from these learned bad behaviors.

Know that even something like mental disorders can be a thing of the past if you change the way you eat. You must exercise in the sun. Note that, we as so-called "black" people are sun people. The sun gives us energy. You must eat lots of fruits & raw vegetables. The less cooked foods we eat, the better our health will be. Whenever you get sick, just stop eating for 3 days. Drink lots of water. Break your fast with fruits. Also, when you get sick try not to eat vegetables. Just eat fruits, water with lemon or lime & take powerful herbs. You will be amazed at how your body will kick out any so-called dis-ease. This is not medical advise. This is what worked for me & my family members. Foods are what is making our mental & physical health decline. Eat live foods & live a healthier & longer life.

Same thing here. I WAS healthy, no health issues of any kind. The doctors didn't know how to treat me, because they said, they never had seen a patient like me "alive"😮 I had 5 strokes. I'm still getting better. They put me on two pills, which did more harm than helped. I took myself off the meds, because the doctors would not listen too me. I took control of my health, that's the only reason I am still alive. Keep striving for a better you👍🌄

I suggest using a specialist such as an endocrinologist. I was doing everything Right and still couldn't get the BP down. I was referred to an endocrinologist after developing kidney stones!! Turned out I have hyperparathyroidism!! That can impact HBP. Check it out!!

Great video, as always. I'd love to see a video on how to lower platelets naturally. I've had high platelets for over 20 years. My Gp says it's just how my body works, but I'm always fearful of strokes and heart attacks. My platelets usually 500-660.

My advice, change the way you eat and slowly transition to plant based, do intermittent fasting, incorporate light exercise and slowly increase the intensity as your body responds. Eliminate processed sugar, get enough sunlight and sleep.

My grandparents and their siblings were all off the plantations in the 40 and 50s and most of them died due to cardiovascular disease before they reached 50 . My mother and her siblings under medication have lived until seventies and eighties although they have kidney issue and cardiovasular disease.

Well, you have to think about it period you know, that gave a ancestor's scraps to eat, which was high in fat and cholesterol clogging period and not to mention the stress that they were put through doing slavery period so that may be why they died young. but that's where it's all started from. And so that caused it To be hereditary and they had no medications for blacks back then.

Good video! I've had sporadically high bp for 20 years and have been on several meds. Oddly, I don't have the risk factors! I'm thin, very active, walk 10000 steps outside in the sun every day (my vit D is on the high normal side), non smoker, I take magnesium and other electrolytes, have a cool calm & collected personality, etc. Kidney function is still fine, fortunately, and CAC score was 20. Normal A1C. I tried the Mediterranean diet but absolutely no change. I now eat mostly meat and veg, very little carbs or sugar, and little to no processed food. I'm 73, feel great otherwise but have basically given up on fixing the bp.

Thank you for your talk. I am a graduate registered nurse and BSc (Hons). Latest research is that it could be caused by growths on the Adrenal Glands. Diet still important however (my words). As you said we are all different. UK Doctor recommended fasting as well. My BP has shot up since I became older my diet is good enough...found regurgitating aorta ..one valve doesn't close tightly. Keeping an eye on things take my BP regularly. Take three readings night and morning. Discard the first two each time to get real reading. Walk briskly half an hour each day if you can. Park the farthest from the supermarket to make yourself walk. Use stairs ..not the lift. Best to get exercise built into your daily habits it's easier.

Taking tooo many meds for long periods of time will damage your organs. One may help you, the others will hurt you. I desire the natural way to treat health issues. Thank you for all the information you've shared. I'm willing to add to what I'm doing.

Finding good food is easier than dealing with side effects from meds. Still need to be aware of cravings for junk food that can knock a person off track. The brain says "go on..... Treat yourself, you deserve it, you work hard, just one burger, fries, shake combo ......" The food company has already bought your taste buds with that sophisticated marketing campaign, the catchy jingle playing on your car radio..... That quick serve when you are in a hurry...... Those guys are clever

This video was exactly what I needed! I have been on dialysis for five years. The cause is high blood pressure. This is the only issue I have (not diabetic, kidney failure does not run in my family). Doctors just give me different medications to regulate my pressure but it doesn’t work. This gives me much better insight on how to lower. Thank you!!!🙏🏾

I am a fairly young woman in my early 50s and I must say that my life has dramatically changed since I’ve gotten this age I notice that I can’t do the same things anymore. I notice that I can’t handle stress like I used to which is the cause of my high blood pressure as well as my alcohol intake, I had a scare yesterday that had me in the bed for two days because of me feeling lightheaded and dizzy. I happen to run into your video and I have been taking notes on things that I should and should not do. I’m going to challenge myself for 60 days to try to eat better, it’s pretty hard because I am a standing hairstylist and Bartender so I’m so used to eating things on the go that I don’t really have a whole lot of time to sit down. If you have any suggestions for my lifestyle, please let me know.

Hello Dr. Price, I saw your celery juice video to lower blood pressure naturally. I have not taken another blood pressure pill in a month and a half now. My blood pressure is better than it was on the blood pressure medication. I monitor my pressure 3 to 4 times daily just to be careful. But the celery is working well for me. I am also eating a plant base diet now for better health. Thank You so much for that video.
