I took an Excel test online and the questions were almost exactly the same questions you've posed here. However, I didn't understand the questions, for the most part. However, I'm coming to understand the lingo of Excel testers. I enjoy working with this software immensely. : )) To create a zip code that has a "0" (zero) in front of the zip, as in Connecticut, zip codes start with "0", such as 06798, for example. To do this you highlight the cell you want to put the zip code in, then go to Home tab, then to Number (aka data type), then hit pull down box, scroll down to and click onto "More number formats" , scroll and hit "Special", then hit Zip code. Phew! What an Easter egg hunt!

So I ended up failing cuz these mofos gave me the same intermediate assessment I had passed a few months ago. I forgot everything because I didn't need to use excel. Ugh! Nonetheless Great job on your tutorial!!

Toward the end, there are a couple steps that say "using Power Pivot." But they don't actually show Power Pivot; it's just a regular pivot table. Power Pivot isn't even one of his menu items, which suggests it's not even installed on his system. Did I miss something? Great videos overall, just disappointed PP was missing (but correct me if I'm wrong).

My goas is not necessarily to give my viewers the exact questions & answers in every single video, but help them prepare for the job interview and the ultimate goal is to get the job. Many think of Excel as a very scary beast and are afraid to touch it or don't believe they can specify it on their resume as one of the skills they poses. I'm very proud that my tutorials have helped people to refresh their knowledge, learn something new, get some hands on activities, and feel more confident with Excel and other available tools. A question on a recent test was to profile the expected cash recipts over the year based on the exact date. The first receipt was 10th of Feb 2020 10,000 per month . So one formula that covers the pro rata receipt due in Feb and then then the full value in every other month of the year.

Hi, first I want to say thank you for your videos! They are very helpful and a great Excel refresher. I had a school district skills test a few months ago where it had a schedule (showing a bunch of different times, rooms available, and how many people could fit in each room) and we were required to make many modifications to the schedule. I didn't do great because I ran out of time, plus I was having trouble because every modification I tried to make kept popping up with something about "merged cells". Can you help with this? No doubt you know how to use excell, but as data analyst I have to say 1 crucial error I see there, it's to automatically say that the miss written zip codes are missing a 0...there so many variables that that's incorrect! Might be missing a 0 at the start, might be missing a 0 at the end, might be a typo in the DB! I would specify that to the interviewer somewhere and then continue the exercise specifying what is my approach to the issue, possible approaches are: 1. I supposed it just misses the first 0, so that's my evaluation and correction. 2. Cut and paste the raws where the missings are and insert them in a descriptive chart as "incorrect data - needs validation" or something like that. If you're applying at a job where excell use is required probably it has to do with analysis or data visualization or economic/financial/market reports, all those fields not only require excell knowledge (which can be acquired excell is such a simple software), but analytic mindset is probably even more important, that's why I think THAT specific error would cost you even more that an error in exporting a pivot table. For all the rest nothing to say great way if general explanation, I see a lot of questions also about vlookup and if functions tho 😊✌🏻

I took an Excel test online and the questions were almost exactly the same questions you've posed here. However, I didn't understand the questions, for the most part. However, I'm coming to understand the lingo of Excel testers. I enjoy working with this software immensely. : ))
To create a zip code that has a "0" (zero) in front of the zip, as in Connecticut, zip codes start with "0", such as 06798, for example. To do this you highlight the cell you want to put the zip code in, then go to Home tab, then to Number (aka data type), then hit pull down box, scroll down to and click onto "More number formats" , scroll and hit "Special", then hit Zip code. Phew! What an Easter egg hunt!

Hello you asked for information that tests asks. Here is a description of what an assessment I had to take required.
The Spreadsheets with Microsoft Excel module
measures your ability to navigate and modify an Excel workbook, visualize
trends and patterns using conditional formats and standard charts, analyze
data, and create reports using PivotTables and PivotCharts. Your performance on
this module demonstrates your skill in Spreadsheets with Microsoft Excel by
sorting and filtering options as well as statistical functions; customizing the
look and feel of a workbook using cell formatting tools; writing cell formulas
to evaluate conditional statements; combining data from multiple worksheets;
manipulating fields formatted as dates, values, or text; and nesting multiple
functions together to create dynamic formulas.

The only advice (thing that bothers me with your videos) is the consistent "thumbs up" drop-in. So I ended up failing cuz these mofos gave me the same intermediate assessment I had passed a few months ago. I forgot everything because I didn't need to use excel. Ugh! Nonetheless Great job on your tutorial!!

Toward the end, there are a couple steps that say "using Power Pivot." But they don't actually show Power Pivot; it's just a regular pivot table. Power Pivot isn't even one of his menu items, which suggests it's not even installed on his system. Did I miss something? Great videos overall, just disappointed PP was missing (but correct me if I'm wrong).

Many think of Excel as a very scary beast and are afraid to touch it or don't believe they can specify it on their resume as one of the skills they poses.
I'm very proud that my tutorials have helped people to refresh their knowledge, learn something new, get some hands on activities, and feel more confident with Excel and other available tools.
Many has confirmed that they were able to pass the assessment test with the help of my tutorials. One of my favorite cases is when a person who worked as a deli clerk for many years has learned MS Office and Excel through my videos and was able to get a new job with much better pay. Stories like this one where someone's life was transformed keep me going and inspire to create better tutorials. I'm a huge believer that knowledge helps us to get better jobs, keep our employment, and enhance our carrier paths, which ultimately means better life for ourselves and our families.

A question on a recent test was to profile the expected cash recipts over the year based on the exact date. The first receipt was 10th of Feb 2020 10,000 per month . So one formula that covers the pro rata receipt due in Feb and then then the full value in every other month of the year.

Hi, first I want to say thank you for your videos! They are very helpful and a great Excel refresher. I had a school district skills test a few months ago where it had a schedule (showing a bunch of different times, rooms available, and how many people could fit in each room) and we were required to make many modifications to the schedule. I didn't do great because I ran out of time, plus I was having trouble because every modification I tried to make kept popping up with something about "merged cells". Can you help with this? No doubt you know how to use excell, but as data analyst I have to say 1 crucial error I see there, it's to automatically say that the miss written zip codes are missing a 0...there so many variables that that's incorrect! Might be missing a 0 at the start, might be missing a 0 at the end, might be a typo in the DB!
I would specify that to the interviewer somewhere and then continue the exercise specifying what is my approach to the issue, possible approaches are:
1. I supposed it just misses the first 0, so that's my evaluation and correction.
2. Cut and paste the raws where the missings are and insert them in a descriptive chart as "incorrect data - needs validation" or something like that.
If you're applying at a job where excell use is required probably it has to do with analysis or data visualization or economic/financial/market reports, all those fields not only require excell knowledge (which can be acquired excell is such a simple software), but analytic mindset is probably even more important, that's why I think THAT specific error would cost you even more that an error in exporting a pivot table.
For all the rest nothing to say great way if general explanation, I see a lot of questions also about vlookup and if functions tho 😊✌🏻
