- Dan and Giles explain Shakespism, a sort of sickness that prevents us to love and truly understand Shakespeare. But we should cure us, because Shakespeare is as relevant today as he has always been. He has already written all the difficult words and he understand humans. Because he was just a man.
Dan Poole: Acting in the Royal Courts sell-out production of Jerusalem (Jez Butterworth). Including performances at the Globe Theatre, the Royal Court, Theatre Royal Haymarket, the National Theatre and the Edinburgh Festival. A Director of Photography, Dan has been the director of Timebomb Pictures for over 7 years. He has produced several commercials, documentaries and Theatrical productions. He writes comedy and acts in film, television and voiceovers. Giles Terera: works extensively in theatre at the Royal National Theatre, West End, Royal Shakespeare Company, Old Vic, Young Vic, West End, Shakespeare's Globe, Chichester, Crucible Sheffield, West Yorkshire Playhouse, and Edinburgh Festival. He also works in film, radio and television, is a musician and composes music for theatre and film.
The two friends, who met at drama school decided to create the Muse Of Fire project as a result of experiences they had while growing up and training. Their five year adventure around the world has sought to discover what Shakespeare means to us in the 21 Century.In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)

Rob, I have watched this so many times. Like Shakespeare, every time I see it, I gain something more from it. You are amazing! Thank you for all you do for our community. You have brought culture to our community in a way that is to be applauded, appreciated, and embraced.

... He's speaking of people who don't love Shakespeare. If you like him, it's not the case. Was it that difficult to understand?
Wonderful job.. however, you can't dismiss Shakespeare saying "He was a man who wrote great stories". He was way more than that, and we all know it.
I can understand what you're both are saying, but it seems like you two can dig a little deeper. Also, practice more on your jokes routines. It's a bit put off.

The most beautiful and renowned, quoted and misquoted words, in the history of language full stop, not just the modern English language he greatly contributed to, for which, all hail to thee Mr Shakespeare, to whom we are indebted and sincerely most grateful!
Shakespeare's words and works are more often quoted and misquoted than the Bible, that's a fact, meaning that they are of higher significance and usage, therefore if God is supposed to be The Word and The Word is God, in the Biblical sense, but Shakespeare's words and the First Folio are so highly redeemed and beloved. Then clearly, SHAKESPEARE IS GOD!

I guess if other times had better stuff then we have know... people aren't allowed to talk bad about shakespeare for purely cultural reasons... if you like sheakspeare do you... but i dont see why he is shoved down our throats in grade school, and reveried as the best... chance the rapper has a better understanding of flow and rythm then shakspeare ever did...

hmmmm - I would imagine that what you are saying speaks directly to your teacher's inability to connect you to the poetry, the stories & connections related to today's current events... & the sounds & emotions of the words which are hip-hop in timing - to show you how YOU might have heard it rather than simply sticking a book in front of you & demanding that you read it. Yikes. Boring & difficult... in fact, it's meant to be heard & experienced live . . .
