Interesting build and for the most part I like the final result. Will consider buying one for my own build someday. However, for the price of a Moebius kit, I really expect the hood to sit down and fit better without a lot of work than I see here. I built a (probably was an AMT) '63 Chevy II kit 50 years ago that didn't have that issue.
You did another fabulous job on this one. Color is pretty close to factory from what I remember. I also have noticed that you use a minimal amount of cement to hold parts together. Unlike the tube glue of yesteryear. I was glad to see you kept trying to get the white walls correct and didn’t just settle for ok. Excellent example for modelers of all ages.
A really beautiful build! Although I don't have this model and I have other Mobiues kits, this kit is much better than I thought it would be. Nice performance exhaust option and chrome engine dress up items make it easy to make it out of a hot rod/ street machine if so desired.I love the colors you chose for this build 👍🏁 Its a winner!
When you find a good fitting kit I always go buy 4-6 more of them to use as custom builds later on stuff like that alot the base of a custom show car that takes a good year to finish every little detail on it
Thank you. Unfortunately they are generic tunes I get from a licensable website called Epidemic sound. It’s a paid subscription service. None of the music have “Brand name” bands like Rolling Stones or The Beatles etc. basically Muzak.
I wanted to write this Review even though this kit has been out for a couple of years as well as Moebius releasing their 1965 Nova SS in 2025. Moebius Nova kits are welcomed, since only AMT has reissued the 1963 Nova Wagon, but not a Stock Coupe mode. Having been a Car modeler since the Late 1960's, I think I have the knowledge to review kit fairly but accurately. l I have found a number of issues in the accuracy of both the 64 & 65 Moebius Nova kits that Modelers should be aware of. First, on both the 64 and 65 Nova's the Head Lights are way too small, More like 4.5" Dual version then 7" Singles. Compare both the 64 and 65 Nova Head Light size to AMT's 1963 Wagon or 1966 Nova kit's.I had to use a skinny round file to open the rims a bit, to get closer to the scale 7". I replaced the lenses with AMT 1963 Nova wagon sets. Also notice that the sides of the 64 Nova Head Light Rims are way too thick. The Grill on the AMT 63 Nova Wagon is Spot on, including the Rim Thickness and Head Light size. The Moebius 65 Nova Head Light Rims stick out way too far, compare them to a prototype photo and again the Lenses are too small.. Not sure If this can be fixed or it may be a Deal Breaker for me on the Up Coming 65 SS Coupe kit. If you read Model Cars Magazine on line you may have read how the 65 Nova Gasser it was tooled with the Wrong Roof line height. ( The Chevy II 100 has a higher Roof Line than a Chevy 400 Coupe), the result is, It looks like a Lowered Roof. This is great for Race cars but not for a Stock version. I hope this will be corrected and that is the reason for the 65 SS Coupe delay. I found everal Under Size parts on the Engine, Air Cleaner, Distributor and Intake Manifold, compared with an AMT kit, No Biggie. Also that Intake manifold carburetor mount is way too high. I wish the Brake Booster was a separate part so you could do manual brakes. Funny Moebius gave you Valve cover Decals on most of the Mopar kits, but Not the 283 emblems on the Nova engine, just blank panels where they would go? I saw that the Rear Tail Light panel on the 65 Gasser is missing the "Chevrolet" Lettering, hope they tool another Panel for the 65 SS Coupe, or at least give you a decal. Speaking of the decals, another gripe I have is that the Red Chevy Nova emblems on the Hood Trim and Rear Panel are not represented with Decals? This would have really been a nice detail to have on the Model. All said, this kit is much needed and a nice edition to our 1/25 Scale collections, I just don't understand how a manufacturer could tool a perfect, Body, Chassis and Interior, and miss such an obvious mistake as under sized Head Lights and over sized Rims. (Funny Not One person Noticed this including HPIGUYS) These are a major detraction to the look of the model WE need to speak out when these mistakes occurr and push the Kit Companies to pay more attention and reference Photos when designing their new kit's If Revell can do 99% accurate Model Kits so can Moebius & Round 2.
Beautiful build! I agree, definitely worth getting a few of these kits!
Looks awesome, way more patience with the white walls than I would have had.
