I have just completed my 2 days journey to Himachal Pradesh. I was driving Tata Tiago XTA (2018). This was the first time I dared to drive in the hills. I drove in a very very adverse climate. Heavy rainfall, dense fog, steep road, loose stones, and whatnot. Initially, I tried to drive in automatic mode. It worked well as you said. But only where road is smooth, has no steep inclination, and the weather is dry. Otherwise, I would recommend using the manual mode. Even in the downhill. Just my personal experience. Don't let the car take control of you- better you take control of your car.
Bro i am an TNT member owing XZA diesel clocked 40 k km. This is just to update you that when u put on manual mode. By default it goes to sports mode as to provide you full power of the engine that 110 bhp @300 NM. Same information is available on user manual. Nice video, keep it up

Hi Nikhil, I am too using TATA Nexon XZA+ Diesel, one thing that you should have also included the situation when you are climbing hill and incase we have to stop then at certain elevations Vehicle start crawling as we lift our leg from Brake bit if the elevation is beyond where crawling doesn’t happened then Vehicle start going back and if we have to pull the handbreak multiple time then your vehicle will start alarm which is so annoying and frightening in such difficult situations for TATA Nexon customer. Same issue i have reported to TATA SC and they also admitted it.
As I already booked xza+(o) and very soon delivered, bit relieved sense I am feeling now by your video plus prompt reply regarding my worry about behaviour of ATM on hilly roads. Thanks again Nikhil.
On hilly roads Manual gear Nexon is always better. You have better control and it's safer. I own AMT Diesel Nexon. Out of experience I am telling. For City driving on plains AMT is boon. Lot of driving stress and fatigue is avoided. My honest opinion- It is always more fun to drive a manual Nexon than AMT variant. I repent sometimes having bought AMT. Fortunately mine is Diesel...Much better performance on hills due to greater torque compared to Petrol. Enjoy your new Nexon!

No issues traffic mai kafi badiya hai performance aur usi purpose se li hai vibration ek baar feel hua hai pahado par kafi zyda incline tha aur traffic bhi but bas ek baar aisa hua tha
One more feature of amt is like when u r in 4 gear and suddenly u give hard accelerator thn automatically gear down shift to 2 or 3 n accelerate fast..
Mileage on Petrol AMT might be less. If Petrol Nexon, then go for manual. AMT is suitable on Diesel more because of much greater torque enough to take care of gear shift lags.

Thank you for leaving a comment , there is absolutely no problem on hills , but in case of very steep hills one can switch to sports mode and it works like a charm.
Drawbacks of driving AMT in automatic mode on hill - 1. Low torque. On stiff incline you need high torque. AMT may or try to upshift the gear early. 2. When driving down hill AMT will again upshift early. Your car speed will increase. You cannot use engine breaking to control speed. You have to apply break to reduce speed. Break pads will worn faster. In worst case breaks may fail. 3. You can not park the car on 1st gear on a stiff incline like manual car. You have to rely on handbrake. So, on hills always drive in manual mode even if you have AMT cars.

I had few questions 1. Did you get head nods when the gears were shifting? 2. Also from stand still in an incline, did the car briefly went back before the gears acted. 3. What was the petrol mileage in this hill/
AMT gearboxes have come a long way, the tuning of the gearbox and actuators have technologically improved a lot. Head nods will only happen if driven pedal to the metal!
@@NikhilRana : Regarding #2, the new Nexon AMT has Hill Hold feature. So as per Tata Sales person at the showroo, at an inclination, it will hold for 3 seconds even after the break is released. Was Hill Hold not available in in your Nexon?

Tata has improved after sales service a lot if you live in a city or nearby go for Nexon , I personally like Nexon and XUV 300 both but XUV 300 is at little bit higher price and Nexon facelift ha quite impressed me with overall looks and changes in interior and exterior both and I have been driving it since more than a year now , it has best ride quality and handling. If u are ready to spend more and somehow find xuv300 better looking go for it. Otherwise Nexon is a winner and a more vfm product.
That's the thing to pay extra 1.5 lakhs for mahindra or not is the question....Though I'm a big tata fanboy ..Bt still sub 4 meter suv segment is quite a tough decision to make 😑....
In manual gear cars we can use half clutch to pick our car on hills, how to do the same in nexon amt? Will it go back when we'll release a break or it will start moving forward automatically?
I saw your complete video. Nice and informative. You have taken risk in speaking for the video during driving on hill road full of turns and inclination. You should have told which variant Nexon- petrol or diesel you are driving. Getting such performance from Petrol is commendable as torque is only 170 Nm max.

Mr. Nikhil very essential and equally very genuine issue of working of auto gears in different driving modes especially with eco mode was fantastically demonstrated. Hat's off for your efforts. Upto what angles of degree you felt the drive was smooth say 3+/- 30-35 degree steep road or what? Pl clarify
Also make video, ESP especially Nexon ABS with EBD, ESP, ETC, Roll-over Mitigation, electric brake-pre fill, brake disk wiping, follow me home lams, fog lamps cornering assistance, crash locking tongue etc.
Sure Mr.Pralhad I will try to make videos on other features Nexon offers and secondly upto 20-25° there was no problem on eco mode , but I have drove on more stepper hills on automatic sports mode and faced no problems , only in few cases I drove on manual mode to check mileage difference , rest I prefer comfort over mileage so mostly drive on automatic mode. But nowadays I’m seeing that the fuel economy is going down. I mostly drive in city traffic condition in city mode and am getting 9.9 as per MID. The first basic checkup service is over. Do you think the efficiency will improve after the second service? Did you experience similar economy previously?

I m going to book xza. Before i stick to only manual mode. But now its clear with me but still i am confuse about hill hold assist on tata nexon. Because some says it won't work sometimes, and some says it will not work in manual in AMT. Is this true ? Or you have a detail video on this. If there then please share the link. 😊
As quoted by so many the reverse camera is of an average quality in Nexon 2020 what do you feel about changing the same after market. Is it worth try or not. Pl clarify
I installed it aftermarket as Nexon xma didn't offer a reverse camera . I feel stock camera is also of decent quality when I took test drive , you should use it for some days if u feel any difficulty you can go for aftermarket but software updates on the infotainment makes the quality better.
By the way, before I had INDICA& it was bad experience!!! Right now I'm driving swift & it's showing 72000 km,but no problems with engine (diesel) So, little worried about TATA brand🤔 Otherwise I like this baby(Nexon)
So far I had a good experience with tata and there are many people who had good experience with new gen cars from tata like Tiago , Nexon etc have been driving it for many years and had no problem overall iam satisfied with tata , actually I have both Nexon and Tiago , Maruti is good with respect to engine there is no doubt but my only concern when it's comes to many of the Maruti car has been build quality rest Maruti is also good , you can also go for creta it's a well build car with refined engine.
Did you face any visibility problem due to the thick A pillar. That one negative about most reviewers talk about. See in your vedio @7:10 and 7:18 your moving your head around.
Didn't you face any Blind Spot issue due thick pillar while driving on hills and curves, because most of the people have complained about the blind spot issue of TATA Nexon which is a serious issue as accidents can happen. Can you share your experience with that which will help others, because for people who has taken, vehicle architecture can anyway not be changed, but atleast tips of experience drivers will help and save people's lives.

Yes the A pillar causes problem in sharp turn , but I don't mind it now and comfortable to lean a bit while taking turns

This feature is actually worst in Maruti cars... 😅When we push hard on accelerator to overtake... It go in 2nd gear from 3rd... We feel jerk

There is hill assist feature which does not allow car to roll back. It locks all four wheels of the car till you press accelator

Mr. Nikhil very essential and equally very genuine issue of working of auto gears in different driving modes especially with eco mode was fantastically demonstrated. Hat's off for your efforts. Upto what angles of degree you felt the drive was smooth say 3+/- 30-35 degree steep road or what? Pl clarify
Also make video, ESP especially Nexon ABS with EBD, ESP, ETC, Roll-over Mitigation, electric brake-pre fill, brake disk wiping, follow me home lams, fog lamps cornering assistance, crash locking tongue etc.
Sure Mr.Pralhad I will try to make videos on other features Nexon offers and secondly upto 20-25° there was no problem on eco mode , but I have drove on more stepper hills on automatic sports mode and faced no problems , only in few cases I drove on manual mode to check mileage difference , rest I prefer comfort over mileage so mostly drive on automatic mode.

But nowadays I’m seeing that the fuel economy is going down. I mostly drive in city traffic condition in city mode and am getting 9.9 as per MID. The first basic checkup service is over. Do you think the efficiency will improve after the second service? Did you experience similar economy previously?

No I didn't feel any lag in gear shift , I have driven amt from Maruti and also from tata , tata feels quite smooth even Tiago does the job well

I installed it aftermarket as Nexon xma didn't offer a reverse camera . I feel stock camera is also of decent quality when I took test drive , you should use it for some days if u feel any difficulty you can go for aftermarket but software updates on the infotainment makes the quality better.

By the way, before I had INDICA& it was bad experience!!! Right now I'm driving swift & it's showing 72000 km,but no problems with engine (diesel) So, little worried about TATA brand🤔 Otherwise I like this baby(Nexon)
So far I had a good experience with tata and there are many people who had good experience with new gen cars from tata like Tiago , Nexon etc have been driving it for many years and had no problem overall iam satisfied with tata , actually I have both Nexon and Tiago , Maruti is good with respect to engine there is no doubt but my only concern when it's comes to many of the Maruti car has been build quality rest Maruti is also good , you can also go for creta it's a well build car with refined engine.

Did you face any visibility problem due to the thick A pillar. That one negative about most reviewers talk about. See in your vedio @7:10 and 7:18 your moving your head around.

Hence I had installed window visors which I removed later. It becomes very dangerous and creates more blind spots.

Didn't you face any Blind Spot issue due thick pillar while driving on hills and curves, because most of the people have complained about the blind spot issue of TATA Nexon which is a serious issue as accidents can happen. Can you share your experience with that which will help others, because for people who has taken, vehicle architecture can anyway not be changed, but atleast tips of experience drivers will help and save people's lives.
