- We are torn between two places that we love, but ultimately one is going to win out. This video is to answer the common question we get: Why do we drive 150 miles each way between our home in town and our future home and farmstead instead of moving there to live right now?

Very well done. You can really tell you're putting in the thought, time and effort to make a high quality video👍
Thank you. I appreciate your encouragement so very much!
I was actually more of an inside kid when I was younger. It was progression for me and learning more that drew me into the lifestyle.
We had about a 170 mile commute from our old house to the land. It's definitely rough.
That's encouraging then, maybe we can get him out more. How long did you drive before you moved there full time?
@@BearBottomAcres We had the land a few years before moving out here. As we got closer to moving we made more and more trips. I think we were making regular trips one year out. We only had one day where we could do it, so we had to make it there and back in one day. That was kind of rough.
I wish our milkweed will grow long enough to go to seed. Wow 5-7 years? Going to love seeing the progress
Thanks. Hopefully it will be less than 5-7 but that is our most conservative goal. The milk weed I planted at home this year didn't go to seed either. ~Heather
Those pecan rolls have my drooling!! Your daughter is living her best life there. Glad to see Kevin has on real shoes, haha!! Sam should do the intro in all your videos, she did a great job! Your kids sounds like mine, one loves the outdoors and the other not so much.
Real shoes, water proof with steel toes to boot! Thank you. Sam is a total ham on camera and you can tell she loves it
150 miles that is quite a drive. I love your land it has so much potential.
Thank you. We are excited to see it grow.
The wife and I have toyed with the idea of RVing, that way they can travel with when I have jobs out of town but I don't know if a small space like that would work with little ones and working in cold climates. Going to be great once you guys build that property up.
I think its awesome for some people, but I am self aware enough to know that it would become hell on wheels if it was our family. ~Heather
Paying off debt and getting systems in place are good goals for sure.
Yes, hopefully we can get it done sooner rather than later.
We also travel 150 mile to our farm but our problem is the wife can't let go of the city life or I would be there right now. She say we will get there though, great video and full support!!!🍒🍒🍒👍
Oh wow! This is where we are with one of our family members too and I'm wanting to up there right now!! I hope you can get there soon, too. ~Heather
Sorry you lost your sleeping bags. You are taking one step at a time. learning as you go. Glad to be on this journey with you.
Thank you. That was a bummer. I had a really nice sleeping bag, too. ~Heather
Awesome video of your drive between Two homes. Like 11. Watched fully. New here #777
Wow, thank you so much!
My grandfather pastored in Hastings in the 1920s and 30s Both and Aunt and Uncle were born there. I did not realize how close to the twin cities Hastings was.
Yes, its not too far out of the Twin Cities.
Guys I just wanted to say that you guys are like Best friends to me and you always make me laugh. Keep doing what you guys are doing.
QuantumGamer760 thank you for this encouragement. You have no idea how much it means. I’m so glad you enjoy what we’re doing 😊~Heather
It’s hard for me to find a quiet spot in the house or even in the yard, that’s why I end up making most of my videos in the car.
Love what you did with the container there.
Its hard sometimes even to find a quiet spot outside. I agree
Thank you. We will have more videos about this in the Spring.
Be quiet! I’m trying to make a video. One minute please!!! That’s me all the way🤣🤣. Things are hard enough. Lay the ground work 👍👍
I can't image how the folks who do a video a day can handle it :)
150 miles north of the cities doesn’t get you to Northern Minnesota 🤷🏼♀️. It’s only half way up the state?
Sarah W. It is after the sign that says Bulldog Country! You exit Gopher Nation and enter Bulldog Country so during Hockey season you better be careful.
When you consider the far North of Minnesota is Boundary Waters and is protected and it is north of St. Cloud and past Tobie’s in Hinckley then it is Northern MN.😃
What do you consider Northern Mn?
~Kevin
Bear Bottom Acres I live a few miles from Canada. “Northern” Minnesota.
Another 280 miles north of St. Cloud.
Sarah W. You win!
Bear Bottom Acres not a competition.... lol but I live in the half of the state that’s forgotten! Maybe that’s a blessing. Keep it up on your homestead. It’s a beautiful place. 😊
