Nice dissolve work with new tripods. When I ran ops on my layout (all those years ago) I would run out of both sides of my yard, it's like a new layout, with new situations, just a thought. Great video, thanks for the entertainment
I remember K Mart, going there you could get lunch before checking out or before starting your shopping. Kind of like Woolworth's. Man, you don't see much of that anymore, maybe WAL-MART, but forget about Target or Jamesway if they're still open somewhere. I know that Jamesway around here closed down in early 1980s.
I really like your SP GP-9 you are really coming along with your layout. I grew up in Lewiston ID. Where the UP came up the Snake. River from Hermaston ORE. While the NP came down the Clearwater River from Spokane WA.. The engines and cabooses were used indiscriminately. You could find BN engines and cabooses mixed and matched with UP equipment. Logging and grain along with the Potlatch Forest paper mill were the three main customers. Eventually track from Moscow ID to Kendrick ID. Were removed and until the dams came in and much of the rail traffic switched to river traffic. Now all rail traffic goes west with the UP.
This was the most enjoyable video of yours I've ever seen. Love the viewing angle with the tripod and the dissolves between scenes. A little bit of work in post production but worth it.
Your layout is really well done and realistic. I enjoy watching the videos you post. Couple of suggestions for you to further enhance things: please get some reverb in your horns. Talk to George at ST: he’ll tell you the exact CV’s to change. Second; while using anything SP is wonderful to see, if a GP9 is switching, you probably should change the freight cars on the layout, more prototypical for the time period that SP’s 9’s worked in the OC. Patching and graffiti weren’t really seen. Plus it’s an opportunity to buy more stuff!
I found a "Bosch MM2" level clamp at a yard sale it clamps on the edge of a bench or 2X4 Its clamping range is 1/2" to 2-5/8" Camera mount 1/4-20tpi is variable from 2-1/2 to 4-1/2'
Thank you for posting this video. What has happened to your ATSF loco 2803, Black with the zebra stripes? Is it a model of an Alco loco? Your GP9 needs another SP loco for company. Maybe a SP lettered Caboose as well.
Happy New Year!! The new loco seems to be running smoothly so far!! Will you have it run with the patched SP loco for some future runs to the new area in the future?
Do you bring your locomotives into the house when you are done running? I ask because of the temperature fluctuations. In the summer, it gets really hot. Does that bother your equipment out in the garage? I know that in Virginia, my garage gets very cold in the winter and very warm in the summer, so I bring mine into the house when I am not running trains. As fellow model train enthusiasts, I'm sure you can relate to these concerns. As always, another great operations video. Thanks for sharing.
Did you move the wrong car to Soundtraxx? I thought it was one of the pickups from Jax Surfboards. Guess the guys at Soundtrax are getting new surfboards??
Friendly word of advice. You shouldn’t border your videos in red because it makes it look like I’ve already watched it. At least that’s how it looks on my iPad. Could just be me. Idk
Hmmmm - First to comment, do I win a prize? The new tripod seems to make things go smoother, but also seems to make a bit more work for you in editing perhaps
Great ops session as always. Thanks for sharing. Dave

Nice job with the tripod. The editing between moves was spot on. Thanks
Excellent delivery and shunt so far.

Glad you liked it!
Rick, I really like your power that you run on your layout. Just brutiful.
Thanks!
I love the operation . Good look to me!! Awesome job!!
Rick, your MOGA making operations great again.
That GP9 is sure getting a workout!
Yepper, nice video. Like the tripod.

it's an FM H15-44. Just off the layout to make room for the lower camera view.
The tripod + transitions in post combine for a much smoother experience. Does the tripod have a fluid head?
no it does not have a very good head. it's a $30 cheap one off amazon but i think it's smooth enough

That's the plan!
How did you do the backdrops with the condo buildings? Looks nice 😃
Screenshots from google street view printed out and glued to some card stock.
@@socalscalemodels ah okay. Thanks

I leave everything in the garage. haven't noticed any ill effect.

Yes I did. Will be fixing that in the next ops video.
You did it wrong! Wasn't the yellow boxcar one of the pickups?
Maybe Jack's is a supplier to Soundtrax?
Yep, you noticed that too. I wasn't saying nothing, Rick is having fun. Lol
I know, didnt catch that until editing the video. Will have to be fixed in part 2.
Oh my dog, the crew made a mistake. Just like real life. Mr Torres needs a day on the beach. Surfs UP!
Nice video with new tripod BUT you dropped the Surfboard pickup at Soundtraxx. No biggy.
I did see that when I was editing the video. lol I was more focused on using the new tripod. Figured we'd fix it mix up in part 2.
NP. Keep the great videos coming.

yeah there is more editing to do since I'm cutting out all the camera repositions.
