Charlie, this video is awesome! I was sewing my bottom first. This makes the top so much harder and thank you for adding the square bottom as I could not figure that one out on my own.
I need to work on the corners a bit, but it was close enough! Worked great! Been wanting to do this for years.... now it is done! Thanks for your easy instructions!
Great video. Do you just use regular cotton thread? It do you use nylon or something else? I've heard that the bags don't hold up to normal use. That they tear apart. Do I need a special foot or needle? Do you ever line your bags? If so, is it worth the extra step?
Thank you for the information on the totes... It was great. I do make these and have fun doing them. It is always fun to see how others are doing it too. Great job...
Love the video. I am just starting to do some bags. Probably need to find a place to get some great bags. My sister gave me some along with mine. I absolutely love the bird bags. Great job.
Couple of questions: 1. Are you using monofilament thread or regular thread? 2. Do you use a teflon pressure foot or regular one? 3. What size machine needle do you use? 4. Are you using a straight stitch or zig zag stitch?
I use regular thread and that seems to work just fine. I also use a straight stitch along the bottom, but a zigzag stitch with the rest. Hope that helped :)
How do these do in the washing machine? I have horses, cattle, chickens, quail, rabbits, dogs and cats. I have a ton of feed bags but... I'm pretty much allergic to every thing in feed so I'm worried about the dust. Do you wash your bags before you cut/sew them?
All bags can be washed with Dawn dish soap and rinsed outside with a water hose. I’ve never had a smell but you could always use one part vinegar to two parts water in a spray bottle since that neutralizes urine smells in clothing. I never had to do this of course.
hello very nice video please kindly film a video all about the beautiful vintage sewing machine please ok? Please kindly reply back ok? Thank you very much
Thanks for showing and explaining how to do the square bottoms on the bags! They make the finished bags so much nicer and more practical to use.
you are very welcome :) it was simple and yes it does make a better bag :)
Thank you for making this process so easy to follow. I've been putting this off for months and made 4 bags today with your help.
Thank you Charlie. I was looking for someone to show how to fold the corners and you did a great job.
Thanks!

These bags will last forever as that plastic feed bags are strong! Really is a great idea! Especially with poultry on the front :)

I want to know too
Me to!!! Scrolled through the comments to see if anyone else asked the same question. Any luck finding out?

You can doesn't hurt the bag at all
Nice tutorial. Thank you.
How much do you get paid from your customers? Thank you very much
Depends on the demand of the item. Two for $15 sometimes two for $25.
The cheapest I’ve seen is eight dollars each but every state is different.
How did you clean the bag from the smell and any food residue?

Good information, but the constant camera moving caused me to stop watching. I didn't want to trigger a migraine.
Roe Shelley okay thanks for letting me know that.
