Nice! Love seeing these teardowns. It’s amazing how small we can make coax cables nowadays.

There was a different 1m version originally included with the Studio Display that had the larger connectors from the 1.8m and 3m cables.

I would love to know if the connector is the same or different on the inside.

      That also got my attention.
Are there different versions between the Apple one meter cables?

Theirs every pin is individual and criss-cross.. amazing engineering. That end connection click must feel great. Im using a poor-mans Amazon Basics USB$ Type-c cable.. works well for $10

I hope you'll do other cable teardowns
I'm on the market for a couple of 240W ones but I'd be happy to learn about data speed of various cables as well

Hi. Can you also do a teardown of Samsung's 3A cable that came with the latest phones such as Samsung A54?

Passive 1 meter Thunderbolt cables, which don't use a retimer, may be able to support the most recent revision of Thunderbolt, that doubles the data rate to 80 Gbits/s.
But I'm not sure. As usual, I am confused by Thundebolt. I would like a future-proof cable. Or at least something that won't be obsolete in a couple of years.

i dont think the 13" mbp has a thunderbolt 4 port. could be affecting disk speed test results

The base version doesn't. However it has TB3 and I think the same USB version. So unless the device used to test the speed was a TB4 enclosure, there shouldn't have been any noticeable difference... Probably more related to MacOS vs Windows.
