@@rtukunbo5185 nah I think it’s weird how UMG copyright struck all the Kendrick Lamar RUclipsr diss tracks the day this is released could just be me tho 😂
@RobMarkman You right. Being born in Trinidad and raised in Toronto, I can say the slang and accent used today is almost a parody of what it was. Used to have mostly Jamaican influence and then morphed into... this. Kardinal wouldn't be proud.
Sure, its a joke, but jokes can be bad. Lol Edit: Rob i stg you always find something positive to pull outta something. Even if the positive was spreading awareness, and not about the song the vid is about. 😂. W
I think drake just understands this social media era, people have a “what have you done for me now” mentality & the more he drops, the further removed he’ll be from the beef. Right now he’s dropping tracks that have “shock value” and get a conversation going about anything other than lyrics right now. I’m not sure it’s working, but it seems to be his angle.
Idk man, I think Drake is doing the opposite, I think he is making a point of leaning into all the biggest criticisms against him throughout the beef. I think some of those lines in Euphoria really got to him, because what? He gets told "when I see you stand by Sexyy Red, I believe you see two bad bitches." And then his very next song post-beef is a song with Sexyy Red over the BBL Drizzy beat. Then Kendrick basically tells him, to go back to Canada 'crodie' and stop culture vulturing African American sounds from different cities. So his new song is a parody that lampoons Toronto slang and culture. He's trying to send a message that he isnt bothered by the disses and what they had to say, but the quality of these tracks are the issue. 1) this is what he did in the beef as well, doubling down on Kendrick's disses to show that they didnt bother him, but that having an opposite effect. 2) these would be funnier and work more in Drake's favour if they were good songs. He should have made a full BBL Drizzy song by himself without hijacking Sexyy Red's project. He should have made a proper track with some actual Toronto artists that celebrated his city rather than a parody that appears to be making fun of it. Those would have been the big moves that would take the wind out of some of those Kendrick bars if thats what he wanted. Instead it kinda looks like Kendrick was right.
yeah I'm intrigued by the chess moves it takes to get out of this hole..... Release old drake vibes while your underfired for swagger jacking....bad move?!?! - OR! - Stay quiet and let it blow over until people forget/move on and risk having to create up new momentum with no guarantees....... sheeesh ..... I guess someone at OVO considered this and said, "lets release but release some silly shit so we stay relevant while looking unaffected by the L"
This shows that Drake has a lot of power the fact that he made something for his city and is an inside joke, but everybody around the world is trying to figure out what is going on with it when it should be a throwaway song basically. And like everybody wants to move the way Kendrick dictates. It’s all just funny to watch.
Well he is one of the biggest artists in the world regardless of genre. So even if he did a very specific thing for Toronto, the world is paying attention
@@RobMarkman I agree with you I'm just saying that because the narrative has been that he's not hip-hop and that he's not part of the culture and that he's even been canceled according to some people.
