- The beginning of the video should probably have made it clear already, but I'm just gonna religiously ramble in a description that nobody reads xd
I always felt that 06 was only bad because Sonic Team didn't make the time to nicely execute it. But to be honest ... I kind of liked Elise's story. Not the one that got into the final cut, anyway.
Elise was originally supposed to just be close friends with Sonic. It would have been really nice development for her. It's unfortunate that SEGA turned them into a bestial ship because there wasn't any room left for a proper resurrection scene. (They even rendered the Super SSS cutscene to combine the CG and lesser quality animation models.) And screw it, no matter how stupid the idea sounds, trapping a gigantic ass terror monster in a princess' tears actually sounds really epic.
Sonic and Elise have this weird relationship at best. If Elise hadn't kissed the hedgehog, then he would have stayed dead (oof). The only character who showed her things was Sonic, so it ultimately lead her to depend on him. Elise was already a messed up person to begin with -- she couldn't cry, bottling up her emotions for a lifetime. She needed Sonic. That's not a bad thing in itself, but the game has already established they can never be an item. Eh.
Which pretty much means that Elise has no choice but to keep her mental health chaotic till the end of time. Wow 06, that's hella dark.

Also Elise's problems were the result of her father teaching her to repress her emotions because it's not what strong queens do (So she'd be a suitable vessel for Iblis should the Solaris Project fail) and then him dying and leaving her all alone afterwards. By putting out Solaris' flame she not only prevents his death but allows him to make up for what he did by forcing him to accept his wife's death and to teach her that it's okay to express emotion.
She also remembers Sonic at the end so she's happy and has had her issues solved.

There's nothing bestial about the ship. Sonic's a Human just like she is. He's not a Homo Sapien but he is a Person. His Spirit is Human which means he's a Man. He's allowed to be in a relationship with whoever he wants.
Also, it was a one sided romantic relationship from the start. Whoever told you it wasn't was wrong.

People make sonic seem like some low sentient and unintelligent animal in defence against this ship when they can use other reasons why they’re against it. They’re usually the same people who ship sonamy cuz they’re both hedgehogs. (Which is a stupid reason to ship a couple in my view. Sonic is incompatible with both in my view. Ones too clingy and one is too shut in her own castle. If people are gonna ship they should give good reasons. I personally chose Elise in love test just cuz in sonic 06 Amy was so annoying. Tbh I wish not to choose either for romance xD).
Saying it is one sided is most reasonable to me cuz it is.

It's totally cool if you aren't a fan of this ship, dear reader. But to call Sonelise beastiality is just... so stupid.
As stated previously Sonic is (an anthropomorphic one at that I CANNOT stress enough) an anthro animal, a sentient creature who is able to communicate and whatnot like humans can- come on.
Anyways. Always nice to see fans of the ship.
This video (although not a shipping one) was beautiful. 06 deserved so much better.

I don’t understand why everyone loses their shit and calls it beastiality when Sonic kisses a human, but like you said there’s silence over those others. Or did people conveniently erase those other characters from their memories?
