Keith, the talk about how editing works was NOT boring!! So interesting as someone who doesn't work in that field whatsoever. Love hearing about the company behind the scenes and everything
i laughed so hard at "zach you should buy a poetry book and then sing it" that i peed a little and then was embarrassed that i peed a little but then i remembered the whole pee thing and started laughing even more and had to run to the bathroom
9:20-9:45 - chewbaca 17:03-17:07 - PLEASE PLEASE MOVE ON 35:17-35:27 - battle on! - 40:46 -41:00 the most interesting part is.. well there's a lot of interesting parts 44:12-4:17 zach sitting with the try team ONCE 51:13-51:19 - CAREFUL
I get that better help helps a lot of people, but also as an lmft in cali, it messes things up for therapists and brings attempts to manual-ize (what I guess could be considered like ai chat) therapy instead of individualizing it. They are also able to bill insurances like over 200 dollars per session where in Cali for blue shield and other large insurances, therapist only can get 80 ish or so dollars per session, which is why so many therapist in private practice do pay only and don’t bill insurances. They also have been putting our information (licensing and credentials) without permission on their website so it looks like they have more therapist working for them then they do. I like the idea of making therapy more available and concept of better help however it is being done more as a money grab for a corporation and not really being trickled down to therapists (at least that is what I have seen happen to some of my MSW and LMFT friends in Santa Barbara county) where they are getting paid less than they have been “promised” and stuck in interesting contracts. Idk this sponsorship keep bugging me, probably because it’s personal to me…. But also a lot of people outside the profession aren’t aware of all the legal implications and how difficult it is for therapist to get in network with insurances (can take a year before insurance allows you to be in network after applying, they can also deny claims one month or years later) but better help gets to avoid all that cuz money.
I'm not sure how many times we'll have to beg them to find another sponsor. It makes me wonder how much they pay for these promotions. At which point, I also wonder, maybe they could pay their therapists more instead of paying to have sponsorships all over the place.
Raine saying "What's so interesting is that there's so many interesting things. One of the most interesting things about that is that when she said X ? I found it very telling." Is SO me writing college papers 😂 love her! Had me doubled over laughing!
DO NOT feel lame Keith. There is no reason to feel embarrassed or anything. My aunt and uncle go to comicon all the time and they are in their 50s all dressed up in costume. Vitcon, comicon, epcot, disney world. ALL THE TIME
I dress up as a bee at music festivals every Saturday and walk around with a totem of Nicolas Cage from the end of Wickerman getting attacked by bees that says "Nic Cage in a rage". I'm 34. I see no reason to grow up now.
I laughed at the license plate commentary bc after I saw the last plog I googled what info you can find from a license plate and there’s pretty much nothing you can get easily / legally.
I appreciate the talk about receiving feedback - I’m a print journalist and I face this daily… it’s really hard not to take personally. Thanks for your insight guys 🫶 I appreciate it 💙💚💜
omg Miles i've had that exact same experience where I came home after a bad day, turned out all the light, and listened to That Funny Feeling. Had a good cry and found it super refreshing. definitely helped me feel better.
47:29 it’s so funny they’re having this conversation about notes because earlier in the episode when they were “brainstorming” the peeing thing, it made me think about how they’ve shown themselves giving notes to each other before (in all seriousness, not in a joking pee way). And I admire how they take them without ego and recognize them as constructive. It’s not an easy thing to do. I really love what Zach said about sadness you didn’t nail it, turning into excitement to try something new. That is SUCH a healthy way to think about it. After ten years in an office environment, I do think I’m getting better at not taking feedback personally, but I’m still bad at it. If there is anything I could add to their conversation, it’d be to pay attention to the difference between criticism and feedback and which one someone is giving you. Feedback is meant to build you up (even though it doesn’t always feel like it), but criticism is for criticism sake. The best advice I’ve ever gotten (not that I’m great at following it but it’s good advice regardless) … never take criticism from someone you wouldn’t go to for advice.
I loooooved Discovery Zone! Even though I frequently got stuck high up on one of the nets, forcing my dad to put on the knee pads they had for adults, and come rescue me 😂
I wish you guys would look into how terrible BetterHelp has been to patients and therapists. It's so sad to see creators "supporting" mental health by plugging a company that has actively harmed more than it has helped.
That was such a needed multiple series of loud laughs 🩷🩷 It also made me want to see a video of Miles and Rainy doing a gos hunters but as if they were ghist hunters. I also feel like TryPod should do an old school work outdoor event with 3 legged races.
I'm 100% here with Miles. I've been listening to music over headphones after my 2 yr old goes to sleep and the chaos of the day is done. Is really therapeutic. ❤
Remember when apple launched the cordless AirPod’s but then revolutionized the headphone game again by offering a cord accessory for the cordless AirPod’s? …the whole going back to studio thing is kinda like that
You guys need to go back to St Louis and go to The City Museum! It’s basically a chuckecheese for adults but everything is made out of reclaimed or recycled materials and it all looks like an art installation. It’s our best kept secret!
I dont know why they always tell Rainie that she needs more sources lol I feel like she's been correct about a lot of the hot goss from boots on the ground. we love our smart queen 💕🥾🌧
I have a random core memory of crawling through a massive DZ ceiling tube thing with my grandma. They let her borrow some kneepads, which they would lend out to adults who wanted to supervise/retrieve/play with their kids or something.
I was starting to think Discovery Zone was a fever dream. Thank you for bringing it up. Did anyone else’s town have an Excite? They even had a tiny roller coaster.
The podcast in a podcast studio? Unthinkable.
a podcast studio? more and more innovative as the weeks go on
we are big thinkers over here at TryCorp
It was so cute when Keith told Rainie not to call herself fugly 😭
Followed by all of them being like "don't be mean, that's my friend Rainie" 😭💕

This was exactly what I came to comment XD

“Hey Rainie, someone’s talking bad about our good friend Rainie” 😂😂😂 so silly, wholesome, and dumb all at once 😂❤️
Rainie said that CAREFUL with such a younger sibling energy.
I listened to her warning like 4 times 😅 so good
‘Don’t say fugly about yourself” aweeeeeee this was such a sweet Dad moment from Keith 😊
Keith, the talk about how editing works was NOT boring!! So interesting as someone who doesn't work in that field whatsoever. Love hearing about the company behind the scenes and everything
This podcast was absolutely hilarious. I love the part when they told Rainey to not bully her past self
A plog? In the STUDIO? IN SPRING? Groundbreaking.
the “shhhh turn off the lights” bit onwards at 31:40 had me in stitches 😭
I'm confused about that, what did they say that was so bad?
@@daniellefactor7745 they were joking that the implication that all blonds (in Texas) vote republican is a terrible thing to say
I've gotten so used to the plogs in such a short time this feels strange
The QUICKNESS with which Zach said Chewbacca had me dead 🤣🤣🤣
The moment of silence afterwards is what got me😂
His Grinch smile after he says it 😂
Rainie looks so captivatingly gorgeous here. She’s always glowing, but she just looks striking here. Love ya Rainie, you’re the total catch!

Petition for Keith to hear the advice that'll go for miles (Zach's Diss Version)

Rainie’s face during the Broadway bit is hilarious.

Discovery zone! I only got to go once when I like 4 but it's a solid core memory from my childhood. It was so amazing!
Firstly, Rainie looked so good in this episode. Her hair looks so nice! And 2nd, this ep was so funny, I LOLed many times.

Rainie's face of confusion while everyone was mashing up broadway references was such a mood 😭
This podcast was delightful! I cry-laughed many times throughout it.
