The best party of the Honey Bee Inn dance scene is that Cloud told Barret earlier "I don't dance." He didn't say CAN'T. lol

Little known fact but besides the bike riding lessons there are also mandatory dancing lessons at SOLDIER. Never know when you need to dance to save a friends' life.

@Los Lightning, in fairness, the original text dialogue at the HoneyBee section was short and mundane compare to this. This remake brings out the true essence of what the original FF7 should have been.
So it would have been better in the original when Cloud gets in a small tub with many grown muscular men in speedos :P? This is less gay than the original, at least in many aspects.

The part where Aerith surprises Cloud by just popping up outta nowhere until they get to the Collapsed Expressway is my favorite part in the whole entire game. That music playing while you're walking with her at night just wrecked me in the BEST way. And the Evergreen Park part too. The whole thing about Zack, having Cloud seemingly becoming more comfortable around her, while her theme plays... uggghhh Q_Q It was the first time the game made me cry
But let's talk about The Honeybee Inn. The most incredible cinematic masterpiece I have ever seen. My jaw was on the floor the entire time I was pressing buttons. Cloud, sweetie, I had no idea you had that in you! LOL
The music during the Expressway part made your time with Aerith feel so special
When the difficulty of the simple minigame is you want to watch the dance, you've got a winner of a scene

Square could have messed this part up so easily. I was expecting the worst coming in like how are they going to handle the whole crossdressing segment from the original. But just like Cloud in that dress, they nailed it.

@@PenguinsAreColdish Tbf, a lot of people have been pretty dissapointed in SE, arguably since the FFXIII trilogy, even if games like KH3 were a financial success a lot of people were still and up to this day are still disapointed with it, but you can bet your ass that SE weren't going to make FF7, one of the most expected and renown games in SE history, into a letdown.

Doing that segment took BALLS! They could have EASILY tried to write it out or play it safe with that whole section and, instead, they doubled down on it and hit it out of the ballpark with the new adaptation of it. That's probably gonna be a history-making moment right there in gaming.

The Honey Bee Inn scene is the best video game moment I have ever experienced in the past decade, that was hilarious, cute, & down right awesome!!! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂Cloud has never looked so beautiful 😍 it really adds a necessary sense of humor to such a somewhatly dark game

Remember earlier in the game before Airbuster? Cloud said "I don't dance." Not "I can't dance." He was very careful with his wording.

You're right. Sometimes, you know right away that you're witnessing something that's going to be legendary and iconic in the future. I had already loved FF7R, but that moment made this one of my favorite RPGs of all time. I appreciate this game so much
I don’t understand why people still have this mentality 23 years later. I know it was probably a joke but why is Cloud supposed to be in love with Tifa? The only implications of this are by the fan base for both girls, but even in the original Aerith has the highest base affection so if Cloud is a dick to everyone Aerith will still be the one to ask him out on a date...and in remake it’s even more prevalent. The language of the flowers scene, Cloud’s mom mentioning an older mature girl while sleeping in Aerith’s house, Midnight Rendezvous (song) after Aerith catches up with Cloud is said by the music director to be a song about them running away together into the night and to give a romantic vibe, the entire chapter 9 Cloud and Aerith are called lovebirds, a couple, a power couple, badass couple multiple times, and Cloud’s resolution scene (the Aerith dream) there’s so much more but I just wanna know why this has become such a common thing that people think when the game lets players choose and it’s always been about choice come from?
PS not saying in any way that Aerith is a canonical love in remake but I’m just saying the developers made it more clear this time that Cloud COULD be just as interested in her...

So the reason I personally ship cloud with Tifa is because after playing Crisis Core I got really attached to Zack and Aerith’s relationship, BUT I have zero issue with people shipping Cloud and Aerith and I completely understand it. I think it’s just what people connect with but at the end of the day it doesn’t really matter.
SarahKey oh definitely! I just was curious the context was more of a question if it was influenced by the original because I played the original in English back in 98 and then played the original again in Japanese in 05 when I lived there. I was just genuinely curious. I wasn’t sure if it was the English localization that made people favor Tifa more because it’s a common trend here in the west but less common over in Japan in fact it’s the opposite. Either way I can understand the appeal of Zack and Aerith but at the same time I can see a 22 year old Aerith moving on from her 17 year old crush. At the end of the day you’re right though it’s a game! Thanks for replying and sorry if that seemed passive aggressive!

Long story short: I watched one or two videos back in the day; let my real life take over for a bit; settled into a new city/apartment yada yada yada, and for some reason this video was in my recommended. Hope you're doing okay during these shaky times. Also, just beat FFVII on hard difficulty and was definitely a rewarding experience.

1:01:16 This whole honey bee inn sequence is already a gaming hall mark from the OG. In 1997 the idea of a main character crossing dressing in video game was pretty revolutionary and ahead of its time from a cultural perspective. It was one of the great debates if Square was going to even bring it back in the remake because of PC issues. Glad they did it and then some...such a great scene
I did play the original, and I have a video here on my channel of me playing. This part was so different from the original that it seemed fairly new to me.

In the old game certain choices you made in dialogue determined who you went on a date with, at the Golden Saucer, and a Tifa interaction at the Highwind. Your choices in the remake are, both, with and against Aerith lol.

Man, now I'm just looking forward to when this game makes it into a speedrunning marathon, The honeybee inn section is going to be so insanely fun to watch.
I don't see this being a very popular speed game sadly since it has a lot of forced slowdown. Calebhart42 started a speedrun tutorial video series and it's pretty impressive how fast you can finish fights.
@@tatri292 Yeah, I imagine it'll be a multi hour long speedrun, but then so are all the Final Fantasy games. FF8 even with all the tech they've found for that game, is still like a 9 hour run. It'll definitely be a commitment for people to run this game, but some people will enjoy it enough to put the effort in. Just looked up calebhart's ff7 remake runs, yeah 10 hour run currently but they'll find ways to cut that down significantly once they've had more time.
