Legit video - I respect honest mechanics who have the knowledge and know how to properly troubleshoot a problem, good job!
Perfect troubleshooting techniques, AWESOME job Oz Mechanics !
This wasn't the problem I was researching, but I still watched. Kudos for taking the time to share the info you learned!
Jr
Dude i just got my a/c system replaced and 2 weeks later it stopped, i think this is the problem with mine, I cant wait to go try. Same engine for me too thank you so much
After seeing your video I replaced my sensor on my 2000 GMC 1500 Sierra, It now works. Sensor was $55 at dealer.
Thank you for the tip...I might need it some day, great job.
Like the ac videos. Thanks for taking the time
dude, you just saved me money. Did your hammer test on my 2005 Saturn Vue just now and the AC clutch engaged. Cool air started flowing again. Thank you so much for this video.
Thats good. 💙
I'm not sure this is my fix... but this is incredibly valuable information. Thank you sir.
Excellent information! Honest and nowledgeable service techs like you are rare find. I'm sure your customer would have paid $1500-$2000 if a so-called knowledgeable AC tech fixed the problem by replacing the compressor, dryer unit (with the low pressure switch), expansion valve. The customer would have had his AC back and be happy not knowing he got screwed.
Yea I get customers to get misdiagnosed. Check out my newest ac video I put up. That one was a crazy one
Oz you are definitely a real and good technician & mechanic! It's been proven for years now. Thank you so much for your time and great attitude!
Thank you! I’ve been looking all over google to answer this. I’m buying a shirt for the appreciation👍🏻
Mario escobedo I’m glad this video helped out. And thank you very much for supporting and buying a shirt
Thanks OZ Great video your good at
what you do and thats what counts.
i
Thanks for video Oz. Exactly what was wrong with my 2001 Tahoe. $28:00 part. Was told by others was this or that and hundreds of dollars to fix. Nice to have honest mechanic
Great trick buddy. Thank you
Had this exact problem on my 95 GMC Sierra. Great video, thanks for the tips.
Great video. Very, very helpful. 2 thumbs up.
Great tip. I have a 2001 GMC Sierra and sometimes the AC compressor just shuts off for no reason. I will definitely be tapping on mine to see what happens.
Exactly what my truck is doing. I’m checking it tomorrow morning. Very Helpful.
Great troubleshooting idea. Appreciate it
Thank all of. You guys for. Tips. God bless you all ! Very much need it now days

Thanks that helps alot.. Never know need change it some day.. 👍👍
Awesome info, I popped out the high pressure switch what little freon popped out, as usual the auto parts store gave me the wrong part on a whim I installed the old one and the ac came back to life. Thanks for the help and this is a 2006 F150 crewcab 5.4.
Hey glad this helped out
Just going over a bump would trigger it thanks for the tip.
Great video! helps me a lot. thanks
Ordered one yesterday. Will try it and see how it goes.
Excelente video!! Very clear
One question are one of wires supposed to have power?
Thank You. Great video. I’m going to try and see if this is my problem now with Suburban.
An honest mechanic who actually trouble shoot.
Thank you sir
My 2001 Tahoe was doing the same thing, it was the low pressure switch which would electrically go open on hot days. At high speeds on the highway the engine compartment was cooled but at low speeds 15mph it would cut out. If I opened the hood when parked it would work again when the heat load was less.........$15.00 back in business, still working fine.
Mine is doing the same thing. Its driving me crazy in this heat
@@quinnthabarber Take the connector off the low pressure switch and put a paper clip in the connector to complete the 2 pin circuit. If it works fine then the low pressure sensor is bad, going open due to heat. Just make SURE you are jumping the right sensor.........All this sensor does is stop the compressor from running if the freon pressure was extremely low or there is a leak in the system that let all the freon out so there is NO PRESSURE. It would only cause damage if you jumped it out and ran the AC compressor for quite a while. But if it was working great one day and not the next jumping it out when you have freon only confirms that the circuit goes OPEN for no reason other than component failure, and cannot cause any damage to the compressor.
I bought a new Pontiac in 1976 , the a/c would blow warm air twice a week . Took to the dealership they couldn't find a problem . A month later I noticed a arc on the ground wire for the a/c clutch . I cleaned and tightened it . Never had another problem .
Thanks brother Wife just called me her little Kia Optima is doing it I’ll check this out first when she gets home 🤙🏽
Woooow this is just amazing
Thx for the video!
I love the motor you're working on 🙂🤠
Great video! Thanks.
Nothing like a 14 foot pound or less torque tighten. Great mechanic.
I am having the same issues, works one day, not the next. I have a 2001 Mit Galant. It has what they call a Binary Switch, which doubles as a high and low pressure sensor I guess? Blows ice cold when it works. I just put a brand new sensor on, but its still not working day, working the next. Any other thoughts?
Very interesting i will look into it as my 2000 silverado has similar problem... it works great ice cold air... but if i leave on the heat for a few minutes chances are good the cold wont come back on for a few days (daily driven) sometimes a day sometimes up to a week i wont get cold air out of it. then on its own it works fine.
I have the same problem for my 01 Chevy suburban but it’s every other day, i done change the switch and also recently put in a new ac Compressor so I know that shouldn’t be the problem. And also there no leaks and there Freon
Good video 👍
Thank you very much for watching
Worked like a charm!
Very good video thanks
04 lincoln Towncar ac blowing ice cold but compressor stops occasionally freon shows good , relays / fuses good, can i unscrew the pressure switch without losing coolant on this car. And any other suggestions. Comes on uphill at about 3000 rpm
Had this issue with a Ford ramger. Replaced both sensors and still had the problem. Changed the relay and its worked ever since. Couple years now
May I ask what you were doing with the pressure pump?
Good fix bro.
Thanks!! Good video!
Great video! Worked for me, so thank you! Question...what is that other electrical clip hanging free there? I have the same thing and cannot figure it out.
I have had the same problem with a 2002 Tahoe and a 1999 Silverado and 2 2002 Silverado.
I replaced the Low pressure switch and I have even run a jumper to bypass it.
I have an extra Low pressure switch right now but it will still have the intermittent problem.
I am going to try putting the o ring on first.
I would have thought the a/c guys that have never been able to figure them out over the years would have figured that out but who knows.
Did you figure it out? I’ve got a 2002 Tahoe it holds the pressure and I hear the compressor turning on but still no cold air
Good Job OZ
Omg! Thank you.... I have the same issue. I have a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4.0, 6 cylinder. So basically I don't need to remove the entire low pressure side, just that part you shown, I hope this works on my Jeep it will be a life saver. Thank you so much.
Hey can you let me know if it works or not? I have a 2010 honda civic with the same issue but I dont want to be doing a puzzle that won't fix anything so please lmk if it works for you
@@Peter-os7nk Hey Pete! No it would not work for mine. My low pressure line doesn't have that sensor that is visible as in video shown. My sensor I'm guessing is closer to the compressor. I'm a Jeep girl and I do work on my jeep. I was have issues with my AC not working or it would surprise me and work for a week then go off again. I replace the blower resistor last week and still it nothing today the fan blower arrived I installed it and AC is running cooled. My Jeep is a 2004 Grand Cherokee Lerado 4.0, 6 cylinder. This would be the second time I've replace the fan blower first time was back in 2011. Though I thought it couldn't be that again, it was. I will be changing out more parts in the future, next on my list is compressor or just the clutch, not sure yet. So glad I have a 6 cylinder, sooooo much easier to work on, but if you have clear visual of your low pressure line / sensor. I would give it a go. Best of Luck, Jeep Girl...
tap the pressure switch top tip never even thought of that and it proved that the switch was defective thankyou
jon cooke gently tap it
Good video. Thank you I'm try it on my vehicle that's what happens all the time. My A/C sometimes works and other times it doesn't.. appreciate it.
Would you mind sharing the app you are using for the parameters on the iPad?
BIG THANKS
Thank you for your video.
I have a 2003 chevy tahoe and it was doing the same thing and I changed the pressure switch, but now is blowing warm air in the front and cold in the back, any idea?
Great video. Thanks Oz! I wonder if this is what’s going on with my 01 F-350, with the 7.3L?
If you have a scan tool you can try the same test I did
Does anyone know what the onther plugs for u can see it hanging there on the video 4.57 don't know have the same wire hanging
I have a 2005 Scion xB I have the same problem but my air turns off while driving if it’s real hot it will not work at all should I replace the whole thing
So the cause of that symptom was the low pressure switch? I have an 07 civic,it has that symptom, could it be that low pressure switch is the cause of the problem ?
Really nice video, I don't know if you can answer my question? But I have slightly different issue, 2015 Suburban, changed compressor, condenser, dryer and orfice tube, it runs very cold when driving, idling starts going down, especially if I run it for a while, we're in Phoenix AZ, I noticed the cooling fans running, but not as load as other similar vehicles when idling.
Thanks
I have a 1989 Lincoln Town Car that has been a nightmare on A/C issues.
My A/C shuts off on the highway, my fan shuts off when I select floor, & nothing comes out my defrost vent when I select defrost.
Could my low pressure switch be failing?
I just changed my check valve & Automatic Temperature Control Switch Servo.
There was no change.
Changed my blower motor resistor a couple years ago, so it's not that.
I'm out of options.
Do u have any idea what the problem may be?
Thanks in advance.
I bought a car a 2018 mitsubishi attrage got it few days ago but when i turn on the AC does make sounds like its shutting off then after few second it will make a sound that its shuts on the sound is almost like the hair blower
Just had ac installed in my 1995 Silverado. It stopped working on a trip back home. Tapped on the sensor just like he did and boom the compressor engaged and it blew cold once more
Vr12 vitamin radiator..... And extra fun with cut out
My 2001 Chevy Silverado is doing the same thing, I was hoping i wouldn't have to recharge the ac , yay , great video thanks
Just make sure you have r-134 in the system
My 2001 Chevy Silverado 1500 is doing the same thing also. Will have to try.
Hello, my ranger rover sport 2013 has the same problem. I dont know what I have to do
awesome tip, think thats what wrong with mine.
Hi @Oz Mechanics what's that extra plug next to it for?
good video my man,,, well explained ,, very clear,, ima order me a tshirt for the valuable info you just provided..
Awesome. Thanks for supporting the channel
Great Video....Now what is required to change this $15 Part? Would love to do it WITHOUT recharging the system ! Can this be done? Thank YOU OZ !
zazoomatt yes you can swap that sensor it will leak real quick but stop cause it has a valve stem. you won't have to recharge the system if it hasn't leaked out already
My AC is doing the same thing, pressure switch already ordered coming in today !
I have an 01 express 4.3. The a/c vents are only 80 degrees in fl to hot on rainy overcast days the vents are 60 degrees, how do these cycle on and off, im thinking i may have an evap that is greezing up, great video ty!
Hello there, what is that pigtail hanging next to the other. What's the function?
Saludos.
Thank you! I have an 07 trailblazer and mine does the same thing. I tried replacing the AC controller and relay. This might be the issue.
I have a Ford 2003 F-150 my compressor clutch engages fine and I have added Freon but it doesn’t blow cold air . What should I check? Thanks
This is my exact situation, same year tahoe and everything. It turned off while I was at a light idling, then after shutting it off, and turning it back on it was nice and cold again.
George Brailsford that's your blend door actuator man
I have a 02 chevy Tahoe and my a/c will work awesome but if I'm stuck in traffic or waiting in a drive thru and not actually driving my a/c will stop blowing cold air and hot air comes out. After I start driving again for like 10 or 15 minutes it will kick back on. Any ideas what it could be?
Is there a way to test this part without the diagnostic equipment?
hey mate my jeep commander ac only works when the air temperature outside is below 70 and the ac clutch stops working when the air temp is higher any help would be great
Great thanks!
How do you know which systems will or will not leak out R134 when replacing the pressure switch?
Look it up. Alldata,Mitchell,etc.
Change the thermostat, if it goes off and on.
I have an 02 tahoe and mine works good at night very cold air during the day is not that cold but the back ac is allways very cold day and night ANY IDEAS?
I have the same issues, I have 2003 chevy tahoe, did you find the problem?
Hi, where the ac pressure swith is located in 2003 honda accord ex 2.4l please ?
