    I have loved this Favorite Books series and would love to hear more! We could talk books all the time. Especially how to balance the different grades in literature with combined readings and then individual readings. Thank you for these great videos.

    We are just beginning our home school journey with our oldest bring in kindergarten this year. She loves being read aloud to and we have made family read aloud a part of our family life and routines. I am always on the lookout for recommendations in any area!

    I too, would love more favorite books! In particular, what favorites do you have for high school literature, such as American or British Literature? I feel that many of the books considered classics to read in high school have very heavy adult themes and I don’t want my kids reading them yet. I’d love to hear your thoughts on this topic.

    This is a great resource; but would love to see more historical fiction books (independent chapter books & read alouds) for grades 3-6!

      Feel free to add more historical fiction books to your schedule if you like! We're adding bonus titles to our book lists to give you ideas for other books to add in. We haven't added any to the Ancient Rome book list yet but we're continuing to review titles for those lists.

      Hi! Thank you for your question. A great place to search for books recommended by SCM is the CM Organizer's Bookfinder feature:
      apps.simplycharlottemason.com/
      Here you can search by topic or author. Titles followed by [SCM] have been recommended by SCM and titles without this designation have been added by other homeschooling families.
      This is also a great post for determining if another book is a living book.

    So for one school year I would use just these books nothing else? How long a day so we have to read to cover all these big books in one year?

    • @SimplyCharlotteMason
      @SimplyCharlotteMason  Год назад

      Hi, Thank you for your question. The books that you will use will depend on the grade levels of your student(s). There will be some books recommended for use with the whole family and then some just for certain grades. You can find the whole list of books needed for this study if you click on the "book list" tab at this link:
      simplycharlottemason.com/store/matthew-acts-ancient-rome/
      You will additionally see there a sample schedule that will give you an idea of the amount of time that it is recommended you spend on this history study each day during the week.
