Thank you for the lovely video , Hana ! We missed you ❤.
As usual , your recs are Amazing .
Love DK books too .
So glad you're back!
Your videos have been helpful for me for long time… I have missed your videos.. I’m interested in starting Islamic history for my kids and haven’t found satisfactory resources online… if you could do a video on that unit it would be very helpful…. JazakAllah Khair for coming back… keep benefiting us ❤
Aww thank you! I really appreciate the support. Finding quality resources on the history of Muslims is a bit tricky. So far I've found a number of books, but often we have to talk through at least one point that we don't agree with. I still use most of those resources however for a few reasons. I have some videos here and will plan to offer more when I can.
We have done the watercolors in the same main lesson books before. The pages do “crinkle” a bit from the water, but if you keep them under some weight or tight between some books on a shelf, they flatten out. Ours turned out well, I think.
ETA- Royal game of Ur makes a great game for the unit, even though it’s not necessarily an “educational game,” to play a game that people played that long ago is really exciting, I think.
Thank you so much for the watercolor tip. If we end up needing another main lesson book (already in the second one for this year), then I'll try watercolors.
And thank you for the game recommendation.
Would you like to make a video on reviews of DK books that you used.
Sure thing!
How do you decide the sequence of your history (or geography) units?
Thanks for the question! I like to go chronological, but when homeschooling multiple children usually everyone gets the same history until they reach high school when it’s more independent.
