Congrats on using the fixed camera mount. Much better seeing you not struggle with working one-handed so much. Can't wait to come visit the listening room!

Thanks for the explanation of what specific components are doing. Enjoying your videos and learning too.

Please do what you're saying at 9:00, when you retire I'd love do build one of your kits! It took me years to learn what the circuits were doing because NOBODY tells you in build kits. I had to learn by trial and error in restoring gear.

Usually I prefer to start with the lowest components first when assembling a PCB.

congrats on the new position ;-). that should help a bit towards retirement. the cam mount should certainly be of help what with freeing up both hands to get something done whilst making the vid. i have worked with tube amps quite a while now and am impressed that others have taken the time and effort to build components like the power supply boards featured in this vid.there was a point in time that i thought the tech would fall out of favour and the only thing we could do as enthusiasts is repair straight up or have to take the time to build components from scratch.it's really interesting to see the things that folks have come up with the past few years and thanks for getting these parts out and into view. otherwise most of us just wouldn't be aware of their existence.
good luck with the v.p. position and looking forward to seeing the new digs completed.

It looks like the filter caps are wired in series to give you 1/2 the capacitance but with twice the voltage capability. When you do this you need to balance the stored charge in each of the 2 series connected caps which is why you have the resistors. Balance resistors which also work as bleeder resistors.

I bought a pair of these amps with the SDS boards, new chassis and newly painted covers. The power transformers get hot but they do work nicely.

Hey I have a set of mk3’s and a Fisher 800C that I’d like to have refreshed. Do you still offer restoration services?

750 Volts on a soldering iron? Wouldn't it be easier to put the smaller components on first rather than solder around those big caps?

Did you find out if that SDS board needed a dedicated ground lead to the star ground point?
