Visiting Jordan was a delight and I wish that I could have stayed longer, so many rich layers of history and an overall benign ambience. Dubai, by contrast, was a dismal place of superficial bling which I couldn't leave soon enough. Jordan is the Middle East at its very best.

Glad to hear I'm not the only one who really doesn't like Dubai. I was there just for a day and half on a 48hr Visa as a form of extended layover (mainly to see the Burj Khalifa). I was actually fairly happy to leave. For all its fancy buildings, it had no soul. Despite being busy, it felt lifeless and a little depressing.
Jordan has so much history however. Jordan and Israel are top of my list for my next trip, but might wait for the region to settle down a bit first

@@CrackerBarrelKid551 Israel is occupied palestine, the 'historic' stuff you see in israel have all belonged to palestine and still does, you would only be seeing palestinian history. I do avice you not to go because all your money will be funded into continuing the genocide in gaza, I hope i do not appear as disrespectful :)

      @CrackerBarrelKid551 9 месяцев назад

@alena8388 well most of the historic stuff I would want to see would be ancient Biblical sites and locations, which are obviously Israeli (seeing as it took place before the Roman occupation and the formation of Syria Palaestina or Palestine). I suppose there might also be some cool things in the area from after it became Palestine, and from the days of the Roman's, and Ottomans etc. But I'm more interested in the older stuff

We traveled from Jerusalem, crossing into Jordan via the Sheik Hussein Bride then continued to Jerash with its magnificent Roman ruins. We made a quick stop in Amman before continuing on to Petra for a two-night stay. Our third day took us from Petra to Wadi Rum and then returned to Jerusalem via the Allenby Bridge. An excellent visit that was far too short.

I'd have Loved to have been able to visit such places, but thanks to the internet, we're able to at least see it on screen. I can't imagine what it would be like to actually be there .... The world has so many secrets still to share with us ... if only we could learn to live in peace & harmony, we'd still be able to achieve so much more .... & to appreciate that which we've already achieved.

The term "dinar" has historical roots in the region and can be traced back to the ancient Roman currency called the denarius. The denarius was widely used in the Roman Empire and later influenced various currencies, including the Arabic dinar.
During the early years of Islam, the Umayyad Caliphate introduced the gold dinar as a standard currency. This practice continued through various Islamic dynasties, contributing to the use of the term "dinar" in many Arab countries for their currencies. The name has persisted over centuries, reflecting historical and cultural ties to the region's monetary history.
The Serbian dinar has a different historical origin. It is named after the dinar, a medieval silver coin used in the region during the Middle Ages. The term "dinar" was later revived when Serbia gained independence in the 19th century, and it was chosen as the name for the country's currency. The choice reflects a connection to Serbia's historical currency and cultural heritage.

In Arabic it is "وادي الموجب"

I hitchhiked to Jordan in 1967 and talked with Arafat, when I was an artstudent of 19. Arafat was in his bunker -with the militant part of Fatah, the El Asifah - just outside Amman and spoke two words 🗯️of English. That’s why he had his ‘wife’ (‘secretary’) sitting beside him to translate.
He explained me everything how he wanted to take over the country, becoming the BigBoss and e.g. cut all the electricity and take off king Hussein who lived in his palace on one of the seven hills of Aman! Yasser also asked me if I wanted ‘to ask mr. Philips’, when I was back to Holland, to send out stronger and clearer their ‘Sáwhto Fatah’ (‘The voice of Fatah’) to start a ‘revoljuhshiun’ in my country 🤪 I had to disappoint him for this nonsense, also I wanted to go to India and further. When I arrived in Baghdagd they throwed me in jail for one day; many reporters asked me questions and I could leave.
In Basrah, S-Irak I discouvered that all my 20 Fatah-pins had been stolen! But maybe thats why they believed me that I was not ‘a spion’ haha. These uneducated, brainwashed people believe, when you have long hair on your cheeks as ‘whiskers’, you are a ‘jewish spion’. I got even stoned by young Arabs because of this believe. But. Im still alive 😀 praise God ✝️❤️

I'd always wanted to visit the ME but seems it's not to be in this lifetime.

The Jordan River is the border between Jordan and Israel. Jordan's border with Israel is its longest, starting from just south of the Golan Heights and ending at the Gulf of Aqaba at the Red Sea.

    Jordan is an Aramaic country
Our Our civilizations, including Petra, are also Aramaic, but we were subjecte to Arab colonialism and many Arab immigrants from the Gulf in Jordan. We are not Arabs or Hebrews as you claim.

Jodan has no oil or income of themselves. Their income comes from USA, Israel and European union. Basically, Hey live on charity and investment of their charity money. Historically rich, I agree.

You are wrong. Jordan exports a lot of industries and medicines, and there are many international companies in Jordan that provide support and donations to the refugees, who number more than 3 million people. 👍

isn't that the case in America, France, Canada Germany & Austria .... and all the Other Democratic Republics of Western countries ? Benjamin Netanyahu Of Israel smokes brands of Cigars costs 1100$ each he is not a king and does not have the wealth of a Royal family !!!! , President Obama was still paying his student lawns when he was senator and after presidency he lives in 20Million dollar Mansion of Martha Vineyards in Mass , Bill Clinton was penniless orphan worked goverment jobs he Is billionaire now lets examine life style of European 14 royal families , Thailand Royal family Japan Royal family ...Jordan Royal family is very modest , its Not Unusual for Queen Rania to cook Her own Family dinners , King Abdualla Banned Home servants to take orders from his children or enter the bedrooms Areas the children had to serve themselves Make their Own Beds. yes the royal Family is wealthy Not as you Imagine them to be like Al Saud of Saudia Arabia or Bin Zayed of UAE or Al Sabah of Kuwait and they differently live their life style . Jordanian Royal Family Homes are clean well Kept and Modest . Most people around the world are struggling to make ends meet in Ghoulish world of capitalism not unique to Jordan

Have you noticed Israeli CrimeMinister Benjamin Netanyahu Smokes 1100$ Cigars Each daily he could never pay for it himself ? the courts in Israel noticed he is on trial

for your Information all the Royal Homes of the Hashemites are modest homes not much different from wealthy Jordanians , King Abduallah banned His workers in his home from taking orders from his children and banned them from the sleeping rooms , His children has to make their own beds clean after them selves and serve themselves , Its not unusual for Queen Rania to cook for her own family meals as i know Late Queen Alia of Jordan did before her these two queens of Jordan were known to be hands on mom and Wives
