"Konayuki" is one of the insert songs composed by Ryouta Fujimaki (Remioromen) for the Japanese TV Series "1 Litre of Tears". Konayuki became one of the best selling singles of 2005. The series also includes a piano version of the song, while this piano arrangement is based off the original.
It's also recently adopted into the 2nd ending of Karakai Jouzu no Takagi-san season 2, performed by Rie Takahashi (Takagi's seiyuu).
I've been holding myself back making this cover, having been able to play it for 6 months before uploading and took all the time to perfect it. I heard the song for the first time through Marasy's cover and fell in love with the song's melody progressions, which I find quite unique especially in the chorus. Arranging this on piano also feels like watching the film again, which brings out its mostly sad, soft, gentle, yet powerful atmosphere.

About 1 Litre of Tears (spoiler-free):
1 Litre of Tears is a 2005 Japanese television drama / tragedy based on a true story about a girl who was diagnosed with an incurable degenerative disease at the age of 15.
This drama is based on the real-life struggles of a 15-year-old girl named Aya who suffered from an incurable disease, but lived her life to the fullest. The script is based on the diary Aya kept writing until she could no longer hold a pen. The book that later followed, entitled, One Litre of Tears has sold over 1.1 million copies in Japan alone.
Fifteen-year-old Ikeuchi Aya is an ordinary girl, soon to be high school student and daughter of a family who works at a shop that makes tofu. As time passes, unusual things start happening to Aya. She begins falling down often and walking strangely. Her mother Shioka, takes Aya to see the doctor, and he informs Shioka that Aya has spinocerebellar degeneration - a rare disease where the cerebellum of the brain gradually deteriorates to the point where the victim cannot walk, speak, write, or eat. A cruel disease, as it does not affect the mind.

Thanks! The sound used in this video is RD-800's default concert grand sound recorded straight into USB. I tweaked some parameters in the Piano Designer menu and played a bit with the EQ during editing, but nothing too crazy.
