Riften tends to be the least-touched city I feel like in most modpacks and city overhauls. Looks very nice in here. I'd be curious to see somebody bring ESO's Riften design to Skyrim.
This mod list is actually VERY customisable. I've been using the beta for over 2 weeks and added about 120 mods. Zmerge, loot (only to see plugin placement, not to apply!) & cathedral asset optimiser make it just as stable as the unmodded version. You have room for maybe 15 eps or esms. You can then merge all the esps when you go over that, separating each merge into 4 or 5 places in the plugin order as suggested by loot. (eg character mods can be merged and placed in the 600 range, late loaders at the bottom etc). Zmerge (merge down - improved setting) and proper load order placement (by running loot, but not applying it to see where the new mods should go, see errors or patches). Then running cathedral asset optimiser to pack loose mods into bsas to keep loading times down, plus xedit for any other issues, this mod list is the most customisable huge mod list I've ever used.
Yeah but I think the majority of modlist users aren't going to be merging esps and whatnot. But for sure those that do can probably squeeze even more into Nolvus.
@@Warlonging Just look up the 4 tools. Somthing I wish I was told in just a paragraph a few years ago when I first started making big mod lists. Loot is your best friend here but never apply the load order or you mess up everything on preinstalled lists. Oh also run elsify before you merge anything to see if you can esl flag something. @biggie_boss Ok cause I have Windows 11 and it doesn't seem to work for me, and I was thinking about downgrading since it specifically says Windows 10 on thier website.
I have a lot of questions, which may include a few stupid ones too as I relatively new to the modding community. Is this simply a premade mod list? Does it include an enb? Can you pick and chose what mods are included? Is it difficult to setup? I use MO2, should I delete my current mods to use Novlus? I downgraded skyrim to SE for mod compatibility, do I need to restore it to AE? How much storage do I need available? I’m “upgrading” to a ryzen 5 5600x and a RTX 3070, how well can this really run Novlus? Thanks for the vid!
Thanks for watching! For any modlist, it's recommended that your Skyrim folder is fresh and squeaky clean. Most of these modlists use a game root folder or stock game folder in MO2 so that you can have multiple of them installed on your PC and they won't touch your Skyrim SE files (they even have SKSE installed through MO2). TLDR: I recommend a new Skyrim SE installation if there is anything in there that shouldn't be. Definitely restore AE for Nolvus V5. V4 is SE though. Regarding customization and if your PC can handle it. With a 3070 I think you could probably run it at 1080p since I am 1440p with a 3080 ti. If it is too much, you can try to redux version which cuts down some of the visuals. It has a few customization features from the installer like choosing your resolution, fake ray tracing, physics, how high the ini settings are, nudity, how you level up, etc. It does come with an enb as well. For storage, you need a minimum of 300GB if you are disabling archiving (saving the downloaded files for later) otherwise probably about 500GB. The setup itself is pretty easy, the installer does 99.9% of the work for you.
@@biggie_boss Appreciate the response! Another couple questions for you: Can you switch enbs and how easy is it to downgrade to redux version from full version?
@@Xevothian Sorry, YT doesn't notify me for replies of replies. You'd have to manually switch ENBs. Regarding downgrading, it's basically like a whole new install. If you've archived the downloads, at least you won't have to redownload the files.
For Skyrim Together, I recommend a modlist called "Fahluaan" that's on Wabbajack, this won't work with it. Regarding size, you'll need roughly 400 GB for the full version and 300 GB for the redux version if you're doing it all on one drive. I released a guide recently that goes over how to utilize multiple drives to save some space, you might wanna check it out :)
Depends on the boss from what I've found as well as which build you go. With EnaiRim some builds are busted and others aren't. Still, it's a power-fantasy setting with tons of cool combat animations so the sky's the limit :)
Ik it sounds absurd. But I just want a modpack that has like 10,000 compatible mods. Minor crashes. Just something a whole new game experience. There are modpacks that state they're a whole new game sorta but they just still feel like Skyrim, it's like adding sugar to tea, it's still tea. I want a whole new game, might be crazy. But still striving for a packed down modpack
I would love to try this (since it's been few years since i touched skyrim) but i feel like my i7-7700K with 1070 and 32gb ram has not enough pwr to run this... so i would have to invest in a new rig first...
Do you know what to do when nolvus gets stuck installing/downloading the last mod (enb)? Because i cannot get it to finish and everyone at the nolvus discord completly ignored me when i asked for help.
Update for anyone who needs this fix. Make sure your dps scaling is 100% I had 120% and that's what made it all weird. Now I can start the game just fine but after a few saves my game crashes and I cannot reload any of my old save files from that same character. So I'm still screwed. Any ideas are welcome
So I have a LG C2 and I can’t run this list on my gpu at 4k. I can downscale to 1440p but my desktop zooms in, the scaling is off. Does anyone know how to fix that??
Redux most likely. You could push for 1080p on ultra though and see how it runs. Might need to either get the paywalled DLSS or turn down the ini settings though.
Hey if anyone reads this I kind of have a question that I couldn’t find the answer to. Sooner or later I’m going to buy a 4070 and install a mod list. I tried installing a nexus collection but I gave up after a few weeks of nonstop work because stuff like dyndolod was a pain in the butt to work with and I gave up because of this. Then I saw Nolvus which supposedly takes care of prerequisites like dyndolod. If it does that, then I will install that . What I’m wondering though is if Wabbajack does the same thing as Nolvus does, just install the collection and not have to worry about dyndolod or SKSE and etc… . Edit: also can this mod pack be playable with an Xbox controller, I’m bad with mouse and keyboard. Thank you
You need AE since this uses creation club content. Most modlists also auto-downgrade for you without modifying your game files if they use non-AE. TLDR: Just use AE when using Nolvus or Wabbajack modlists and you'll be fine :)
2000 Mods, yea, 70% are patches ^^ Im a long time modder, and my current install has 1700, and 75% are patches, and no offend, but Nolvus looks not so good, it has a very generic look with many standart mods, nothing exotic or mods difficult to manage, its nice, but nothing what kicks you from your chair and leave your mouth open, but you have made a great video ;)
Keizaal, Redoran and The Phoenix Flavour - Dragon's Edition you might check out. They won't be crazy overhauls like Nolvus, but they all touch up the cities and are more performance friendly.
@@biggie_boss I take it you mean most collections, and yes that is sadly true, but this was the only one that made me wanted me to re-install and play. I guess if I want to I'll have to go back to using Steam, but I really hate that platform. It's more like a virus than many actual viruses.

What dlss settings are you using? Keep up the good job and keep them videos coming!
I was using the default DLSS settings. Just make sure to disable anti-aliasing and depth of field in both game settings and ENB settings :)
@@biggie_boss thanks. I will disable those and see if I get a bigger performance bump.
@@biggie_boss by the way, when I open up the ENB menu ingame there's nothing in the AA sub menu. Does that mean it's off?
@@biggie_boss or wait. "Enable Edge AA" is off
Bro how tf you got good FPS? I have a 1200+ modlist and sometimes tank to 50 with the DLSS mod installed and other FPS enhancing mods.
Some of these big lists have optimization patches and whatnot as well as optimized ini settings. BethIni is a good tool.
Did you use the auto installer on Windows 11 or Windows 10?
I personally use Windows 11 but I'm sure it works on 10.
@biggie_boss Ok cause I have Windows 11 and it doesn't seem to work for me, and I was thinking about downgrading since it specifically says Windows 10 on thier website.
god I want to try that but I am sure I need another/clean SSD for that download
Ye it's a chunky list lol
how long did it take to build 2k mods? man nice work.
Not my modlist, this is Vektor's work. You can get an automated installer for this list on Nolvus.net. (it'll self-install everything for you)
@@biggie_boss very interesting ty ♥
Is there anyway to make the hud bigger? I’m playing on a TV and the text is so small.
Try the SkyUI menu :O
@@biggie_boss yea its not big enough. I’ll deal with it. Great video.
@@biggie_boss wondering aswell, can u switch enbs?
@@Xevothian Sorry, YT doesn't notify me for replies of replies. You'd have to manually switch ENBs. Regarding downgrading, it's basically like a whole new install. If you've archived the downloads, at least you won't have to redownload the files.
@@dailydoseofzens You have to do it manually :(
Is there a way to use the hardcore combat option without the deleveled enemies. I don't enjoy guessing game of where I can and can't go.
No :(
2 questions. First, please tell me this works with Skyrim together? Second, how much storage is needed for this mod?
For Skyrim Together, I recommend a modlist called "Fahluaan" that's on Wabbajack, this won't work with it. Regarding size, you'll need roughly 400 GB for the full version and 300 GB for the redux version if you're doing it all on one drive. I released a guide recently that goes over how to utilize multiple drives to save some space, you might wanna check it out :)
@@biggie_boss thank you so much!
If there is a mod I like but it isnt in this, can it be used alongside Nolvus?
You can always try to add it through MO2. Depending on the mod, could have some incompatibility. Hard to say.
How did you do that jumping bow shot in the beginning. I have nolvus installed but cant figure out how to do it.
Right click
Did you install fantasy mode? When I right click with a bow my character stays on the ground and does a quick shot.@@biggie_boss
I did yea. You gotta jump and right click for jump shots.
ok no wonder I cant do it I dont have fantasy mode the word "jrpg" scared me on the installer, probably gonna reinstall to try it.@@biggie_boss
Do these work with Skyrim Anniversary Edition? confused with all these editions
V5 is AE only as far as I know, you need the upgrade to function. Most creation-club lists are like that.
Really incredible graphics! But combat seemed quite easy, doesn't it? I hope dificulty is balanced. Thank you very much for the review!
Depends on the boss from what I've found as well as which build you go. With EnaiRim some builds are busted and others aren't. Still, it's a power-fantasy setting with tons of cool combat animations so the sky's the limit :)
@@biggie_boss what difficulty was this review played on? And doesn't the modlist have wildcat?
@@Warlonging It has Valhalla combat, I was just on adept.
Are you playing the Redux or the Ultra version?
Ultra in the video. Ultra requires 12gb vram. 8 for redux
Really wanted to try this out and got excited until I saw the requirements. Just too insane for Skyrim.
Yea I mean, the Redux version only requires a 1080 I believe.
Does it take a lot to run this list? Heard amazing things about but don’t know if I have the specs for it
There's a redux version and the installer lets you specify you resolution. So you could always give it a shot :)
@@biggie_boss installing now! So excited to try it out!
Is it suppose to cover all the names with generic names ? Same with doors it never tells me where im going into and i don't know how to turn it off
MIA mcm
@biggie_boss you're an angel have my children
Ik it sounds absurd. But I just want a modpack that has like 10,000 compatible mods. Minor crashes. Just something a whole new game experience. There are modpacks that state they're a whole new game sorta but they just still feel like Skyrim, it's like adding sugar to tea, it's still tea. I want a whole new game, might be crazy. But still striving for a packed down modpack
Enderal modlist then :P
I would love to try this (since it's been few years since i touched skyrim) but i feel like my i7-7700K with 1070 and 32gb ram has not enough pwr to run this... so i would have to invest in a new rig first...
Yeah you'd want to upgrade your GPU
Looks really good. What are your PC specs?
In the description :)
@@biggie_boss my bad didn't saw at first.
Do you know what to do when nolvus gets stuck installing/downloading the last mod (enb)? Because i cannot get it to finish and everyone at the nolvus discord completly ignored me when i asked for help.
Maybe try a vpn? That's my final resort when a DL fails.
@@biggie_boss thanks I'll try that and let you know
@@biggie_boss it worked! Thank you!
@@biggie_boss aaaand now my UI is cropped to the right lol
Update for anyone who needs this fix. Make sure your dps scaling is 100% I had 120% and that's what made it all weird. Now I can start the game just fine but after a few saves my game crashes and I cannot reload any of my old save files from that same character. So I'm still screwed. Any ideas are welcome
does this work with Mod Organizer 2? in case i wanna add armor mods and other mods?
Yep, it installs MO2 for you.
So I have a LG C2 and I can’t run this list on my gpu at 4k. I can downscale to 1440p but my desktop zooms in, the scaling is off. Does anyone know how to fix that??
Not sure, I'd try Nolvus' Discord, they have a support section.
I have a 3070 ti, 32 gb ram, AMD Ryzen 5 7600X, which version should I run?
Redux most likely. You could push for 1080p on ultra though and see how it runs. Might need to either get the paywalled DLSS or turn down the ini settings though.
@@biggie_boss hmm ok thanks I appreciate the response, I’ll try the redux on high I guess and see where I’m at.
Thank you
Nolvus is controller friendly. Both it and Wabbajack lists include lods and whatnot installed. Only thing you need is Skyrim
@@biggie_boss thank you!
In your opinion, what is the best and most complete Skyrim mod list?
No best :( but my favorite is Do Not Go Gentle
is this only for special edition? i have the anniversery edition. do i need to downgrade somehow?
You need AE since this uses creation club content. Most modlists also auto-downgrade for you without modifying your game files if they use non-AE. TLDR: Just use AE when using Nolvus or Wabbajack modlists and you'll be fine :)
when will it be launched?
V5 (called Ascencion in the launcher) is available now :)
@@biggie_boss Is there much graphical difference between redux vs normal?
@@thiagolapetina4591 Less dense foliage and less city expansions as far as I know.
Theses textures are so sharp that looks way artificial. No one sees the world with such definition
Yeah true. Sharpness is easy enough to toggle with enb settings. Also, apparently new Nolvus comes with alternate enbs.
can anyone tell me why the nolvus website doesnt load ? i cant open it
Down for maintenance I think
I'm just looking to add a follower mod that should be fine right
Depends on the mod
How many gb space the list in version 5 occupies ?
Hey, I also responded to your other comment but probably 300 GB minimum or so is needed for the full version.
Hey does anyone knwo why im getting a grey screen? What am i doing wrong?
I'd check Nolvus support Discord
@@biggie_boss I managed to get it working in the end it took me 4 days though 😂
Amazing mod list.I have it myself and in my opinion it's the best one.
What hud is that on top for the compass?
Nordic UI and Compass Navigation Overhaul
Can this be used with a controller 🎮 on PC
This is how I am playing, and it works fine! :) I'm using xbox one controller
@@rafaelcouto4216 Thanks for the reply.
I have one of the new controllers that has 4 extra buttons underneath...
I'm going to try it...
will it interfere with vortex?
No as long as you make sure to purge your vortex list beforehand.
This should work with Skyrim VR right?
Nope :( although there are a few VR-specific modlists
Hey,does it work if you use a controller?
Unfortunately not :(
2000 Mods, yea, 70% are patches ^^ Im a long time modder, and my current install has 1700, and 75% are patches, and no offend, but Nolvus looks not so good, it has a very generic look with many standart mods, nothing exotic or mods difficult to manage, its nice, but nothing what kicks you from your chair and leave your mouth open, but you have made a great video ;)
No offense taken haha, I didn't make the list. Glad you enjoyed the video though!
can i play this mod on my gtx 1660ti ?
Possibly the redux version, but even then you might get FPS issues because it requires 8GB VRAM I believe.
@@biggie_boss thanks for replay ;) I have another question, what modlist do you can propose for my cart but with all cities and towns redone
Keizaal, Redoran and The Phoenix Flavour - Dragon's Edition you might check out. They won't be crazy overhauls like Nolvus, but they all touch up the cities and are more performance friendly.
Can Nolvus work on 16 GB ram ?
Maybe. Depends on how good the ram is.
How do you enable dlss?
DLSS is paywalled
😅😂 16:06 🎉
Legolas
The problem with Nolvos is it only caters for one platform (Steam) which makes it useless for a lot of people.
Almost every modlist is Steam-only.
@@biggie_boss I take it you mean most collections, and yes that is sadly true, but this was the only one that made me wanted me to re-install and play. I guess if I want to I'll have to go back to using Steam, but I really hate that platform. It's more like a virus than many actual viruses.
Weird hill to die on. Steam isn't a virus.
It would be really awesome except for the combat. I just cant play a game where people attack faster than the speed of light. I prefer more realistic combat moves. Beautiful MOD though.
The high framerate is because there's no grass...
Yes messing around with console commands to change time for seasons can break the grass, seems to be fixed after he reverted back and fast travelled to other areas
@@TheVektor2012 SInce I got a reply from the author of the modlist themselves:
I don't see why YOU should be getting paid for development while the author of the single mods that you are using FOR FREE don't pretend any such reward. And putting forward the excuse that "v4 is free" is not the justification you think it is, since from what I know you're not providing ANY bugfixing for the free version. You're doing it only for the PAID one. You're a dishonest actor and you're setting a VERY bad precedent for the modding community.
@@randomthings1293 it's not that serious man.were talking about video games, way more important things in life to get worked up about
@@randomthings1293 I think you are the dishonest actor because not only is v5 now public as in free, it also was only in closed as in paid for literally 21 days. Modlist authors also put just as much effort as modders themselves in most cases(stuff like beyond Skyrim is an exception). He so stopped bug fixing v4 as i understand it for the same reason a lot of wabbajack lists stopped updating for a good while, mods got depreciated and out dated bc of Anniversary Edition. If you are uncapable of understanding these simple concepts maybe you should step away from commenting on them. Lively led a crusade and it promptly flopped to any reasonable person simple because not one single issue he put forth lasted a week. all bugs he showed are gone, jedi trees gone, paid to play gone so shush it.
auto install not working for me unfortunately. I have all the requirements that the site mentions. at the end of the dashboard, I get an error saying I need the dwesanctuary.bsa which I believe it's in AE version( I own the updated se). which version works the best? do I need the 1.5.97 version? what do I need to make it work on just SE?
You need AE for V5 (Asencion). For SE I believe V4 uses it (Nolvus Natural Lighting) which is similar to V5.
@@biggie_boss ty! that msg make more sense now. here I thought there's a v5 ascension built for the base 1.6.64. It's time for an upgrade ig 🤷♂️
Is there a more realistic modlist then this.the jumpshots assasins creed like action .this is more of a n action mod list I'd want something more survival hard-core etc. Also not a big fan on most of the changes like characters looking like models and certain locations not lore friendly.it just seems like a not focused modlist. I wish they have made two versions one more lore friendly and survivalist and other that's with more non friendly additions
I'm always gonna recommend Do Not Go Gentle for people who wants a harder experience, lore-friendliness and modern combat. It has MCO but the animations and movement are not as fast as other MCO lists. No eating/drinking requirements but there are things like sleep, no health regen, alternative fast travel, etc.
@@biggie_boss oh is tht a mod pack
@@biggie_boss I also heard enemies are capped leveled which is more hard-core and relastic
Yeah run the ultra version 5.4 in 4k and see how those frames go 🤣
I don't play in 4k though. 🤔
Skyrim the Journey the russian modpack is better both visually and content wise its way more immersive. This is too flashy that is breaks immersion just to look next gen
The Journey is literally pirated content that steals from mod authors. Wabbajack helps mod authors get paid for their hard work. Don't use The Journey.
Advice play ESO is better.
ESO is one of the worst games I've ever played
HAHAHAHA SO LAGGY, FPS DROPS EVERYWHERE HAHAHAHAAHAHAHA
Yeah some places are hit harder than others. In most of these big lists, you have FPS drops in Whiterun, Solitude and Falkreath. Thanks for dropping in and watching though!
Can you post a timestamp for the lags? I don't see any lags on this video lol, fps counter is above 60 fps all the way...
What a joke of a modlist.
It isn't for everyone, that's for sure.
